Helluva Rewrite: Loona

Finally figured out what I want her to look like! Okay, so story wise, a few things - She's 17 now, and has only been with Blitzo since the start of his business. She's still standoffish and wary of him because, duh, he's basically a stranger. However, she's no longer abusive to him or the others at IMP. She's rude and snippy and, to quote Moxxie "A meth addicted homeless woman you let man the phone" but she's also an edgy teenager. I like the idea that the white on her is just skin and the grey is fur, which led to the others in the pound saying she had hell mange or something. She was just bullied constantly at the pound, which has led to her rough and rude attitude. She's mean to Moxxie the most because he gives the best reactions and where she grew up, you had to be on top or someone else would be mean to you. She very much respects Millie, as she doesn't want to get her ass kicked. And she's... conflicted with Blitz. But not ungrateful. In my rewrite, keeping a bit with Hellaverse lore, so hellhounds are still pets and guards for higher ranked demons. Wearing clothes isn't really necessary for them, but the ones that wear clothes are scene as more 'high class' in a sense.

I had a lot of fun doing my retake on Bee’s design!

Some mini headcanons about the queen bee + her ring:

- Bee is the talk of the Gluttony Ring, the familiar face everyone lights up at when she pops up on a billboard. Everyone loves her parties and her genuine, down-to-earth self. Bee’s job is to ensure the demons of her ring are able to indulge themselves. This includes creating endless amount of food from the daily atmosphere of parties in the Gluttony Ring, helping create food-themed demons from scraps, and feeding damned souls (sinners in my rewrite) to demons to send them to damnation for their gluttonous sins.

- Most of the time, Bee appears as a cute little bee demon to make others more comfortable. Her true form is a giant, monstrous bee that is so terrifying, damned souls actually die earlier if they’re unlucky to see it.

- The Gluttony Ring of the Underworld is based on a worn-down, abandoned city that only becomes vibrant and full of life if someone throws a party. It’s summer year-round in the ring; the hotter someone feels, the more they want to indulge themselves in endless cool treats. The water is also really warm, so the only way anyone could take a swim is if they either had cooling powers or filled up the nearest available pool. (I based the entire ring’s vibe off Florida; mainly Miami/Tampa)

- The imps, succubi, and hellhounds of the Gluttony Ring are based on tropical food and drinks. The ring is also home to bug-themed demons, with the most common being bees/wasps.

Helluva Rewrite imp designs

Finally figured out how I wanted to the gang to look! (minus Loona because honestly I have an idea for her)

Alright so, ever since I showed my redesigns for IMP, I've been nervous about showing anyone else (mainly because I'm not greatest write). But I wanted to take a shot at it

And (from what I think) people liked them, so I did someone else.

I took on the "prince in distress".

To be honest when I first watched hb since the pilot, I didn't mind it. But then it started to grow on me and then it became more meh (It really started when his outfit was switching between a shirt and a jumper (?). Anyways, onto this owl.

Janus is a well-known and upstanding hellborn citizen due to him running one of the most successful sections within hell, but also having the title of one of hell royalty depends him on.

You see, Janus restores things, but mainly magical things. Any magical artifacts from Asmodean crystals to even grimoires, he is able to restore them back to new. He is a well-known curator who is tasked by royalty to store all historical and not so important books of hell's history.

This first fact catches the eye of a certain imp. However, he didn't expect (or even predict) that he was sneaking into a building where its owner is actively awake during the night.

The thief leaves only with a fairly damaged tome, but Janus doesn't be too alarmed as it wasn't important as ones that are hidden and locked away, but the magic within it was expected to wear out eventually.

A few years pass and life is going normal, Janus finished having breakfast with his wife Elanor and his daughter Octavia and they're watching tv together. A commerical break is happening and Janus is clearly uninterested in all of them

Until one catches his eye

One with an imp that looks VERY familiar to him...He's gotten interested and upon getting the number, he decides to help the thief once more to see how far this imp can go.

And that's Janus! In my au,/rewrite, he is not a main character and is not shown much until he gets revealed later. He still get shown but still not as much as it's mainly revolved around KODAL.

So now, headcannons + changes:

- Let's start with the biggest changes first: Janus does not take the place of Stolas. Stolas (the actual prince) is a seperate character from Janus. Also in addition, that Stolas is not like the show version

- Janus is NOT a prince or related to royalty; he is in fact an Overlord (yes, THOSE overlords) as he works as a mayor (of sorts) to his section in Pride. The only relevance to royalty he has is that he works with them sometimes (and are seen within their good graces)

- He hasn't cheated on Elanor (Stella in the au) and the thought has never crossed his mind (They are the real gomez and morticia addams)

- Despite hiding in the shadows and acting like a villian, Janus genuinely wants to see Pyro and KODAL succeed and constantly gives them multiple clients (and pay) to get benefits for both of them

- Janus looks imitadating, but man is a total sweetheart: consoles in everyone, an absolute dork whose head over heels about his family and would invite you over to tea. However don't let that fool you, He can still be a malicious beast if he deems you a threat or upset him or his family greatly.

- His favorite hobby to do with his family is shopping and taxidermy (a shared interest)

- As for prince Stolas, he is one of Janus's patrons as he is a frequent customer. He holds in high regard and sees him as a role model (hence the coat having stars and having paimon's robe palette)

Here’s my take on the hellhound girlie!

I wanted to tweak her character a bit (and by a bit I mean I snatched her out of Viv’s cold hands and gave her some pizzazz) so here’s my personal take + headcanons on Loona!

Her story begins at the Howling Hearts Youth Shelter in the Pride Ring. It was a hellhound catering orphanage, essentially serving as shelters for hounds who were abandoned by their parents or staying there in the events that their family couldn’t take care of them any more.

The shelter opted to help hellhounds find new adoptive families, from the imps to the sinners to even higher-class families such as demon royalty. This shelter was one of the greatest in the pride ring, as many adoptions were met with success…

Except for one.

This little hellhound girl was more cynical and distant. While her fellow hounds would prefer to play and spend time with potential adoptive families, the little hellhound was a bit more cold and spoke the harsh truth about anyone who tried to adopt her.

The director of the shelter was becoming frantic. This hellhound was nearing 16, and that was the maximum age a hellhound would stay before they would get kicked out and be subjected to the vulgar, harsh world of the Underworld.

On a stormy night, an imp under the name of Blitz burst into the shelter to find a hellhound who could be his bodyguard, a potential companion in his up-and-coming assassination business… but most of all, he wanted to fill the void in his heart by having someone to consider his “child” in a sense.

And the little hellhound girl with her sharp tongue instantly clicked with him. He named her Luna, after the lunar eclipse that happened to take place that night. (Although he misspelled it as “Loona”, but she seemed to like that alternative spelling!)

And so, Blitz and Loona began to recruit two other imps, eventually kickstarting their dream assassination business.

And that’s the story of Loona! I wanted to flesh out her backstory and make it not entirely exclusive to Blitz’s story. We didn’t get her perspective, her story was all about Blitz and *his* essential sad experience.

Mild critique aside, here are some headcanons j have of her!

- She doesn’t really get out much, seeing as she’s at the receptionist desk constantly. Running up the stairs will instantly kill her /j

- It doesn’t help that she has mild anemia, so don’t let her stand up too quickly.

- She’s a scene queen, preferring to thrift and even make her clothing items. Millie gifted her a Kandi bracelet, and she’s never taken it off since.

- She and Octavia crossed paths at a Verosika Mayday concert once. They didn’t recognize each other at first, but soon became fast friends and kept in touch. Octavia occasionally crashes at Loona’s place whenever her Stolas is being… Stolas.

- Loona doesn’t really like dying her “hair”. The last time she did, the office’s bathroom almost exploded. She was able to save it with a half-assed jellyfish haircut, and to this day, Blitz still has the pictures 💀

- I feel like she’d really like the game Omori! Her favorite character is Aubrey 🎀

- Unlike the original Loona, she’s not as mean and violent towards everyone (she’s disgusted at the thought of hurting her father and his employees as a “joke”). She’s more dry and sarcastic. Example;

Blitz: “We’re off to the living world for another totally normal adventure! Loonie, you wanna come along?? :D”

Loona, looking up from her phone: “mmmmmmmm- no.”
