Ye-eeees, well, the Hogwarts dating pool is limited, I have to do the best with what I have. Around 10, I would say. -nods- Erm... Rory, maybe?

Oh, he's absolutely delighted. It's a privilege to watch the most perfect series of all time. Um... no-one you would have heard of, as a couple, but everyone has had mid-to-positive reviews of their dates so far. Ooh, Lorraine! I could help her.

That was truly the magnum opus of film. -grins- Well, as it turns out, I am fantastic at matchmaking, so if you require any... -salutes-

They really did hit perfection in the first film and then throw it straight in the bin for the sequels. The greatest tragedy the world has ever known. -sighs- We do! -eyes her speculatively- Do you require any matchmaking?

Ah, I see, you're more of an Alice girl than an Edward girl. -nods sagely- She is incredibly stupid, but we adore her and her horrible taste anyway. Great! … this is a very weird conversation, but it's nice to meet a fellow Swiftie. We should really form a club.

Well, you could have an 108-year-old vampire boyfriend, for all I know. True... I think that may be the only sensible thing she does in all four books. Huh. -sigh of relief- Thank Merlin. I'm too young to die. Yes, this is true. Maybe I should fake my death. Ok, then during Look What You Made Me Do I could crawl out of my coffin, that would be extremely fabulous.

You are my only true friend, and I will repay this kindness. -nods emphatically- Just fun, or it was fun until I nearly died. -snorts- Ok Bella Swan. -eyes widen in slight alarm- Yikes, that doesn't sound good at all. Am I actually on death's door? Should I be planning my funeral? I would love for Taylor Swift to perform.

Oh, Merlin, now I've disowned them all for nothing... what a cruel twist of fate. That is a relief, though, I thought they'd all abandoned me in my hour of need. -winces- Ok, yes, on second thoughts I prefer my injuries. At least all my body parts are still connected.

-clutches hand to chest- And no-one could be bothered to turn up? See if I leave them in my will. -deep, long-suffering sigh- See, this is why you're in Ravenclaw and I am a mere Gryffindor. We are not smart people.

It's ok, I'm just... y'know... half-dead. -probably a little dramatic. he hopes- Whaaaat? How silly of her. -attempt at humour successful- I think I fought a Bludger and lost. They always said Quidditch would be my undoing. -is still a bit foggy, not entirely sure who "they" is-

-blinks blearily at her, realising she is not here from Quidditch- Uh, thank you? -doesn't really have a choice of pain-relieving spells anyway; wonders why she is in the Hospital Wing if she looks so happy-

Elyan nodded in agreement. "Yeah, just look at how much alcohol and drugs you can find in the school. I think they've just decided to turn a blind eye to the sixth and seventh years drinking at school because it's impossible to stop it." You'd think they could come up with spells to ban certain products from the grounds, but people would probably come up with counter-spells just as quickly. "Oh, yeah, they'd do some big protest prank. It wouldn't be worth the fight, I guess." They could all be doing a lot worse, anyway. "Huh. I would've assumed Al would want to tell everyone about his crush." He laughed, and admitted, "She was really obvious." Poor girl. At least it'd had a happy ending. "It depends what you count as success," he hedged, not wanting to admit how low it was. No-one had stormed out of the date yet, though, so that had to be a win. "Ok, what are your standards?" he asked, already thinking of candidates. "And what genders?" He kind of came across as a straight dudebro, but to assume made an ass out of you and me. "She fully would, she'd probably try and break us up."
Kyle hadn’t spent much time one-on-one with Elyan before, but he seemed okay. Anyone who was best friends with Gwen must be pretty cool, considering Gwen had good taste (well, she liked him and Al, which was good enough). Kyle and Gwen had become friends after trying out for the Slytherin Quidditch team at the same time and had almost crashed into each other; from then, they’d both been put on the team and started hanging out during practise. With Al already on the team, the three of them had banded together and started hanging out more, with Elyan sometimes joining. The four of them had all been planning to study in the library together one Friday afternoon when Gwen had begged off when feeling sick. The three of them had kept going until Al remembered he had plans with Jessie, his new girlfriend. He waved goodbye to Kyle and Elyan before cheerfully hurrying away to spend some quality time probably making out with Jessie. Kyle couldn’t help but roll his eyes, albeit fondly, because as much as he loved Jess, she could be guilty of monopolising Kyle’s best friend. Kyle was probably just jealous - not that he was interested in Al, not at all - because he’d not been in a successful long-term relationship before.
“Ugh, these people and their relationships, I wonder what that’s like?” He mused aloud to Elyan, putting his quill down and abandoning his Charms essay.

"You really can't, I don't know why the professors don't say anything. There is just a surplus of hormones." Apparently the professors were ok with that, considering he never saw them stepping in. He knew there was no way to stop it completely but they could at least ban PDA in the corridors between classes; it made it a lot harder to get to class on time. "Did he not notice his feelings either? That's pretty embarrassing, isn't it?" How that happened, he had no idea. Surely you'd notice your emotions? "You would? Y'know, I'm pretty good at matchmaking, I have... a success rate." Really, was it his fault if they didn't try hard enough to get to like each other? "Can you imagine how mad Gwen would be if we dated?" he asked, with a laugh.

"Yeah, I feel like one of the last few single people left in the school," Elyan said. "It's the honeymoon period, they're at their worst. Gwen thinks they're really cute," he added, wrinkling up his nose. "They were one of those couples everyone but them saw coming a mile off, weren't they? Really someone should've taken pity on them and intervened, but it was too funny." Funny and tragic at the same time. "Oh, no, I'd just like a relationship, no-one specific in mind. What about you?"

It was weird how little time Elyan'd spent with Kyle one-on-one, considering they'd known each other for three years, but he supposed it made sense when you had a mutual friend. Said mutual friend had decided she felt sick, which was extremely rude of her in his opinion. He studied better around other people, and Gwen was usually the one who kept them all on track. The boys were all too easily lured into conversation, so he couldn't see this lasting much longer once Al left. He was proven right as Kyle dropped his quill about 0.5 seconds after Al left, and suppressed a smile. "I know, they're very annoying and I am seethingly jealous," he admitted. He'd not had a real relationship yet, just some tender fumbling at parties.
