Today, this war criminal, Jean-Marie Le Pen, has died—impunity granted, like so many others.

He is the one who tortured and killed many Algerians during the Algerian Revolution, including with his own hands or under his orders. One must consider, among other things, the way revolutionary Moulay Ahmed died—tortured in front of his six children and wife (what was known as "torture under the roof")—when he refused to reveal the whereabouts of his comrades in arms, who were not far away (according to the son of Ahmed Moulay, he could also have escaped before being arrested, but he refused for fear of reprisals against his family, and his fear was justified). Le Pen accidentally left his knife and another personal belonging at the crime scene. His wife, daring the dangers, filed a complaint with the help of a white man from the Church (which was dangerous at the time). She took one of Jean-Marie Le Pen's items (his weapon belt, if I'm not mistaken). The complaint regarding the death of her husband went nowhere, as usual. However, the son of Ahmed Moulay kept the knife with Jean-Marie Le Pen's name engraved on it. He searched in vain for Le Pen and turned the entire area of the Moulay family home upside down.

After the Algerian Revolution, those who committed horrific crimes against the Algerians, including Jean-Marie Le Pen, were not prosecuted. He went on to lead a far-right political party.

Years later, when Jean-Marie Le Pen made it to the second round of the election, the matter of the knife resurfaced. Le Pen, as usual, denied and showed no remorse.

For my part, the best thing would be for Le Pen to disappear into oblivion, in his racism and Nazi delusions, but for his crimes to be discussed. We should talk more about his victims than about him, as he never repented, and he should have been proud that we talk about his heinous acts (much like the worthless members of the OAS who laugh or mock openly in interviews about the assassination of the great writer Mouloud Feraoun, his colleague Max Marchand, and other great men like Marcel Basset, Ali Hammoutène, Salah Ould Aoudia, and Robert Aimard because they know these crimes were amnestied; or other people who openly commemorate in cities OAS criminals like Delguedre—I can assure you that there are public demonstrations in honor of this atrocious man. The best thing to do is to ignore such nonsense).

We've been waiting for so long for this day to come, and here it is. Jean-Marie Le Pen is dead, at 96. For my non french followers, it is hard to resume such an evil man. He's the father of Marine Le Pen, current far-right leader. He co-founded the main far-right party alongside ex-waffen SS. He was a racist, antisemitic, homophobic, etc. He practiced torture on algerians during the Algerian War. He called the Shoah a "point of detail of WW2 history".

He was convicted several times, for physical assault, hate speeches and denial of crime against humanity. He was a catholic, no doubt he's rotting in Hell forever now.
