You were in your office at the police station, and you heard about the shooting of a politician, Joe Kimbreu, a well-known Detective aside from yourself also as a detective, brought the perp in, You stood up and walked up to him. "Alright, Joe.. what do we got?" "Shooting of a local ex-congressmen, Brian Walter, he was shot in the parking lot, and his bodyguard was killed also, and we have a witness that was walking by, saw everything," Joe explained. He said, before you nodded, and added, "Although, it would be impossible if it was linked… Wayne Coleman is dead and Congressman Diaz is in jail from that payoff of Carrie Coleman." Joe nodded, "I agree, it's a bit confusing, but still worth a try." He said, giving you the files on the case. You thanked him and looked at the files.

You looked through the file, looking at the picture of Brian Walter, the congressman, who was shot, you sighed, looking at his body in the photo, looking at the bullet wound. you were at your desk working like a maniac but you got nothing, but you remembered someone… someone who has worked the congressman Diaz case…

You Enter the district attorney building, the sound of your shoes is heard on the floor, the sound of people talking to others, talking on the phone, some have files in hand, You see a name 'Jenny Banks: assistant district attorney' on a door, you went to the door and knocked. "Come in." A female voice said, you open the door and enter the room. You saw Jenny at the desk, she had blonde hair, her hair was in a ponytail, and she had green eyes, you walked up to her desk, looked up from the paperwork, and smiled softly, "Detective… did Joe send you again?" Jenny teased, you could only make a small chuckle, "No, not this time," you said, as she looked confused, but let you continue. "I came here because of the recent shooting of an ex-congressman." You said, placing the files down on her desk, she sighed and took them, reading over them. "I'm sorry… but I have my own work to do," Jenny said, you sigh, "Look, this is really important… I know you have a husband and a son but… I need a place to start… if Joe asked for your help… I'm asking for yours… from what I heard, you are one of the best ones…" You said, pleadingly, Jenny sighed, she was a sucker for compliments, and she has a soft spot for you. She gave in and said, "Alright… but you owe me." You smiled, "Anything you want… thank you." You said, before leaving the office, leaving Jenny blushing.

The two of you have been working on this case, it's been over a week now, you went in the district attorney building, but once you enter, you hear Jenny and Joe arguing, "What the hell?" you ask yourself before you approach her office, the two are arguing. "Jenny… i was only trying to help!" "Joe, for the last time, I can handle this."

"What's going on?" You said, as Joe and Jenny stopped arguing, and looked at you. "Nothing, y/n.." Joe said, and left, as you look back at Jenny. "This doesn't seem like nothing?" You said to Joe, "All due respect, y/n, but mind your own business." He snapped at you, you raised an eyebrow, "I'm sorry, did you forget that I am also a detective." You reminded him, Joe sighed.

"It's okay, y/n…" Jenny said, placing her hand on your shoulder, which sent a shiver down your spine, but you ignored it. "Joe thinks that I'm not handling this case the way I should." She said, and you were confused, as you furrowed your eyebrows, and looked at Joe, who just stood there. "If that was true, he would have ran that by me, since I was the one who asked for help." You said, defending Jenny, as she blushed. "That's exactly what I thought! And i didn't ask him, he just assumed!" She said, and Joe rolled his eyes, as you glared at him. "Roll your eyes at me again, detective… we will have a problem.." You warned him, and he did nothing, knowing he will get his ass beat, and left.

You were alone with Jenny, as you turned to her, she smiled. "Thank you for that." She said, blushing a bit, which made you smile. "No problem." You said, before looking around her office, and seeing a picture of her and her son, you smiled softly, and you took the photo to examine it further. "You have a beautiful family, Jenny…" You said, which made her smile. "Thank you.." She said, as her cheeks turned a dark red, she cleared her throat. "

"I-I guess I should go.." You said, not wanting to move, not wanting to pull away from her touch.
