In regards of the Trump government scraping all trans inclusion in its queer information portion of its websites I have made this thing. Spread the word. Don't let them pretend we never existed.

P.S: Don't like! Reblog! <3
EDIT: Well this got a lot of attention! I got a few users asking to print or repost my art and I am unimaginably grateful to everyone's interest, especially since it's a really simple drawing I made on a whim haha! Anyone who is looking to print these out to hang or hand out or repost on another platform is free to do so, although I ask you to credit me and let people know it's from my Tumblr profile! If anyone wishes to do anything else with my art or post and wants to clarify what I consent to then they can message me privately and I'll explain! <333 all my love to my queer siblings
EDIT: I made an LGBTQIA+ version with a focus on trans and intersex folks, it's on my pinned if you prefer this version of the acronym.

One thing that has made me a much more well-adjusted person is a clip I once saw of Hank Green saying that anyone can be in amazing shape as long as being in amazing shape is one of their top three priorities.
(This is obviously a generalization that isn't true for everyone. But it is true for most people and I'm proceeding from there.)
This "top three priorities" framing has genuinely reduced my tendency toward jealousy and self-comparison a lot. Now when I feel envious of someone’s spotless, aesthetic home, I think to myself, “Having a spotless, aesthetic home is probably one of their top three priorities. It’s definitely not one of mine, so I shouldn’t expect my home to look like that.”
Or when I see an influencer with a body that takes a ton of work to maintain: “Maintaining that body is obviously one of her top three priorities, because it’s her livelihood. My livelihood is my brain, so I’m never going to prioritize my body like that.”
It also helps me to identify areas that I actually DO want to prioritize more. I realized in recent years that my envy for my friends who prioritized writing more than I did was NOT going away, so I started to prioritize writing more. (Not top three, but higher priority than it has been in the past.)

My dad LOVES star trek right, we watched it constantly growing up, every episode every series, every movie and spin off, I've seen everything but the animated series and some of the newer shows, but there is one thing throughout a large chunk of star trek that my father HATES, and that is Q
To describe my father's hatred for Q is near impossible, my dad is a relatively cherry man, he's not quick to anger in the slightest, he can roll his eyes through a musical episode, shake his head at a horrible character or plot point, but he Hates and I mean HATES Q
I'm unsure if this started as genuine anger from him or if apon seeing my laughter at his outburst he just amps it up for the bit, it's been so many years I believe he too is unsure, but whenever Q slides in on screen my father stands up and yells like his team just lost the Superbowl, Q's not being in an episode is so vital to his enjoyment he will do nothing but spend the entire episode yelling at the screen and loudly booing over every line of dialogue
This man who has dedicated most of his life to looking at birds and has never really found himself fully committed to anything had fully invested himself in being #1 Q hater at the ripe age of 62
And I love him for it
#this one's got me rolling#star trek: voyager#and all the other relevant treks#Q gets around#number 1 Q hater#love it#Q

while glaringly obvious plot holes, chasms in logic and painfully missed opportunities are inevitable in any long-running series/franchise, the one star trek plot hole that has kept me up at night more than any other, the one that with each episode, twists the knife further and further, is the fact that Captain Kathryn Janeway did not come up through engineering. like HUH???
i’m only halfway through season 2 and very rarely does an episode go by where Janeway doesn’t find an excuse to make her way to engineering. the second something goes wrong with the ship that woman is SPRINTING to see what’s going on with her own two eyes (and usually her hands too). like in S1 E1 of Voyager, they get flung 70,000 light years from home, and one of the first things she does is run to engineering.
i know i know, she was a science officer, something something captains need to be proficient in all domains aboard a starship, yada yada - yes, Janeway has a reputation for going above and beyond when it comes to knowing her shit, but her level of comfort and familiarity with engineering, her ability (and desire) to run around, ask questions, complete tasks and essentially function as a regular member of the engineering crew indicates to me more than just ‘she’s smart’ (see: “Warp Particles!”)
TLDR: Kathryn Janeway was, is, and always will be an engineering girlie to me and i will die on this hill
#I reckon there'd be some backstory as to why she ended up in science despite her love of engineering#did someone convince her it was better for her career?#was some mentor of family member originally an engineer and she wanted to distance herself for career reasons?#was she originally a bit shit at it and all her skills are very hard won?#(she is god awful with replicators but I think that’s more programming than engineering)#someone write it!#star trek: voyager#captain janeway#kathryn janeway

the roseate spoonbill is a member of the spoonbill & ibis family found in north & south america. they are a highly social wading bird often found feeding with other spoonbills and mixed flocks of birds. they feed by swinging their bill back and forth, the ‘spoon’ shaped portion allowing them to collect small aquatic prey often ignored by larger wading birds like small crustaceans, invertebrates and minnows. although those who haven’t seen them often assume they are larger than life, in reality these birds are smaller than a canada goose, weighing 2.8 - 4lbs. like the american flamingo, their pink coloration comes from canthaxanthin, a carotenoid pigment found in their diet.
#oooh I’ve always loved spoonbills#never seen one this colour!#pretty!#a bird-watching highlight for me#Is still#seeing a wild spoonbill in my local park like a decade ago#never seen before or since!#loved it#awesome#birbs

it's like. I used to think my autism didn't really include the need for routine but what I've found is that when it's a Planned divergence in routine that's fine (going on trips etc) and when I can Choose to divert my routine bc I know I can handle it that's also fine (like deciding to go out for drinks or deciding to go to a movie or deciding to change dinner plans). but when Other People or Circumstances change my routine without prior warning that's when my brain goes absolutely fucking insane.
and I feel like that's not talked about enough bc I've always seen "needs routine" represented as someone who is unwilling to divert from their routine when like. no it's absolutely fine just as long as I'm the one deciding when and how to divert it or I've been given plenty of advance warning that it'll be changing.
