Designer Creatively Pairs Food with Their Pantone Swatch Colors

Designer Lucy Litman creates an interesting series of pantone swatches that beautifully pairs food with their counterpart compound color palette. She celebrates the virancy in nature that also can be imbued in food and her extensive project is no small feat - Litman has prepared a huge array of swatches for organic, sweet and savory foods under the hashtag #pantoneposts. The process has been one of healing for the artist, where she finds peace in pairing the abundant rich colors of food with solid swatches.

Litman’s enthusiasm about her food and Pantone projects gushes in her interview with Hello Giggles, “It’s really not difficult! Nature is pretty amazing and gives us foods of every color and shade! What amazes me is the variety within each type of food – a lime can be about a dozen different colors depending on the type and how ripe it is. My process is putting all of the foods on a baking tray, sitting by my window for natural light, and matching them one by one. It usually takes about 15 minutes to get the right colors.”

Polish painter Justyna Kopania composes stunning brooding seascapes of the sea and vintage ships sailing across the ocean. With the use of deep blue and moody colors, which create a beautiful atmospheric environment. To create a brooding setting, a mixture of heavy brush strokes and the use of a palette knife to add texture were applied to elevate the oil paintings beauty.
