yesterday felt so...... bizarre

i was excited for my 4 day weekend, and then i got a call from my brother that his dad is dying from kidney failure. i feel weird because he's not my dad, but always loved and referred to me as his daughter. i never called him dad not due to personal reason, but i just always knew that he was my brother's dad and i had a different dad. but i never really had a relationship with my dad.

i feel guilty for never calling him dad and for not replying to his messages. my brother wants us to go to down south to see him for the last time. but i feel guilty doing that because i couldn't even muster up the courage to see my grandma on her deathbed. and we lived with her for the majority of my life. if i couldn't do it for her, how can i do it for a man i haven't seen in person in 7 years?
