I'm still really unaligned with how the twitter art scene necessitates artists to constantly advertise themselves. Make something on twitter and after a month or less it's fwoosh dead like a firework unless you retweet later it in an attempt to stoke the flame. On some random day on Tumblr I check my activity and see that something I made 3 years ago suddenly quintupled in notes and I'm like "huh cool".
#it makes sense due to twitter's lack of a tagging system#but alas it still feels weird for me to actively retweet my own stuff#so i forget to do it#'tumblr is dead' lmao this place may be smaller but it certainly aint dead#not art#I genuinely think Tumblr is friendlier to artists in every which way#the automatic twitter cropping is a nightmare#youre limited to four photos in a post (which has affected the way I make my compositions now)#and then the note stuff I said#yeah#the big difference between the sites are how many people are on it#oh and also on tumblr getting nice tags on your post is so good#adhlfjgk with the composition thing I mentioned earlier i have many many moments where im tempted to go 'meh whatever'#and let tumblr show off what i originally intended while twitter lives with weird looking thumbnail crops and awkward thread posts for#multi-panel art
