Can't sleep because I'm thinking about dolls. This is a common occurrence

My mom got me some porcelain dolls at a yard sale today. It means more to me than just the surface gesture. There were several years where I thought I'd never be able to speak to my mother again. She's come really far, and this is one of the things that shows that she really is trying to know me as the person I am even if she'll never be able to know all of me. It's a small thing but it speaks volumes. I didn't think I'd ever be able to have a mom again but sometimes people actually do go to therapy and change and yes we're only chipping away at the generational cycles of abuse but the fact that we're all on the same side again gives me hope

do newer doll collectors know about the plastic wrap trick for getting dolls dressed?

I was redressing a doll without removable hands and thought about it. You put a little plastic wrap over a doll's hand so it'll slide through the sleeves without their fingers catching on the threads.
