so i was going back through every EoC post you've ever made, as one does, and i noticed something:

in this post (https://www.tumblr.com/cerame/726048672351191040/do-you-have-more-art-for-the-collector-those) collector uses the golden sword/master sword lvl3

but in this one (https://www.tumblr.com/echoes-of-courage/741421748220788736) collector has the tempered sword/master sword lvl2 instead

so i'm wondering what's going on there. which version of the sword does collector have? (is that decided yet, or still up in the air?)

Fantastic question. I totally forgot about swords, somehow, despite this being a Zelda au. I'm leaning toward Collector having the golden version while Artisan has the red version, but for now, let's just say it's still up in the air.

She’s also just generally banned from physical contact with Commander. Maybe Zelda should consider expanding that ban to all Links??

Ah thank you!! :)) It took me a while to get anywhere near satisfied with her and Lana’s designs for Echoes of Courage. I still even changed a few things between their final rough designs and how they actually turned out in the comic. But naturally the first thing I did was give Cia her other pant leg back

Loving how expressive Scout is!!!

Also it’s fun that the people of Scout’s time also get confused on whether or not there were two different heroes for those games (ALTTP, LA, OoS, OoA, ALBW, TFH) just like how we all debate over that in reality

First, thank you!

With how confusing the timelines are for us as an audience and with how real history often gets forgotten and pieced back together, it only makes sense to me that two heroes placed so close together on the timeline get confused for each other, especially since aLTTP Link's only hero title is the New Hero of Legend. While, yes, I have them as two separate people, the stories during Scout's era can feature one or two heroes. They share similar themes, titles, and so on, and the dates in any historical records could've been fudged a little. At least Scout will eventually get some clarification on it.

Collector and Artisan aren't the only ones whose legends get muddled, too.

Just wanted to say that I discovered this completely by accident but I'm in love with your art style and designs!!! Scout especially. Something about him is just super aesthetically pleasing to me. It's probably a combo of the very nice and curly hair and the color pallet. Also I like that he's so very different from Jojo's Hyrule! His expressions, the general timidity that I often see in related LU fics/etc. isn't really here and I love it!

Awww thank you! I really like Scout too—he is aesthetically pleasing, and his poncho and long sleeves are fun to draw.

Scout is different from LU Hyrule, and that’s been very fun to play with… but don’t get me wrong, but he’s far more similar to LU Hyrule than the LU community would give Hyrule credit for. Not to start beef with LU or anything, but LU Hyrule isn’t really…. characterized correctly by the fandom in the first place. He’s not really timid, just curious. He pokes fun at the others all the time. He’s on team arson. I could probably write an entire essay on his characterization in LU canon vs fanon, but this isn’t the post nor the blog for that.

That being said, Scout is definitely far more poker-faced, classic Link style. He was never meant to imitate LU Hyrule, so of course he’s going to be different. His official art is mostly pretty serious, and growing up, I assumed that, as a silent protagonist, Link wouldn’t emote much, and while that has certainly changed over time, Scout is my little tribute to my first impression of Link. He’s definitely evolved from my original concept of him, but the fundamentals are still there—generally quiet, determined, full of flat stares, and a bit silly when he can be, plus a lack of understanding of trespassing. And, of course, the thing that makes all Links heroes—kindness.
