- Materials: Back: Ebony/Rosewood with Ivory spacers • Top: Spruce - Length: 58.4 cm - Strings: 6 [gut] - Other Notes: In the 1600s, the neck, bridge, and pegbox were replaced/modified to give this instrument a Baroque configuration. In the 1800s, the neck was reduced, fixed frets were added, and it was changed to six single courses. It’s possible the original setup was for 7 or 8 double courses.
