It's gonna be rough, and we're going to hear 30 minutes of speculation and rumors passed as truths and inside information with sudden shorts of LL in the garage. Let's keep our peace of mind intact because if nothing solid is confirmed before the 3 weeks, we're going to have a hell of a mini break.

So I just watched the clip and I honestly don't think there's anything to panic about.

The question was weirdly worded, which I think was deliberately done to trick either Max or Yuki into giving away answers that they have been PR trained for.

I believe Max's answer was somewhat a combination of both. He was most definitely briefed on the situation hence the "even if it's his last race."

Max answered every possible follow up question in his one answer. He didn't leave room for "do you think he will be here in Austin?" Or "is he losing his seat?"

He also made it clear that while they have been team mates, they are friends and from BOTH perspectives, Daniel deserves to be here and that IF the curtain is closing then it will close with a lot of achievements most people might never achieve.

He also covered off the question that he's been asked a million times "do you think he regrets leaving red bull?"

I think while everyone was briefed by their PR (Yuki, Daniel, Max) this wasn't a completely PR answer. This was Max having an idea of what is being said and what he can't say so he was just responding to the general speculation.

Also, if we choose to ONLY go by what Max said and ignore everything else Daniel has said today, what are we saying about Daniel's word or position in the team?

I don't know how to feel about everything, I genuinely do not know whether it is good or bad, but from everything DANIEL has said today, the overall vibe is good. Let's not read too much into everything and over analyze.

I know it's easier said than done.

Gentle reminder that Max is communicating in his second language, that we don’t know the phrasing of the question he was asked from Tumblr, that he isn’t able to give anything away, and that he will have to work extra-hard to mask how he feels if Ricbull is happening because he’s incapable of hiding his feelings when it comes to Daniel. There is no need to panic IMO.

Look, I don't know how much we should be reading into anything or whether the outcome for DR will be favorable or not.

But if articles were to be believed Daniel would have lost his seat in Miami, then in Spain and now in Austin (the home race of vcarbs namesake)

But for a long time, we've been hearing about this clause that says that they have until Sept. 15 to decide on what to do with Liam. As we got closer to the date "they need to decide" turned to " they need to announce it" and "Daniel will be gone."

Sept. 15th has passed. I haven't heard/read any further comments from Marko other than stuff they've said before that they will revisit the decision in the mini break.

Those comments have become "Lawson will eb announced" and now, suddenly a new clause is being spoke about, "he will be given 5 races"

When did they write that clause in his contract? When they signed Yuki and Daniel last year and decided that regardless of whether their drivers were doing well, they would give him a chance?

Did they write it after Spa, when they chose not to make the swap?

Did they add the clause during the start of the season when Daniel wasn't up to par yet?

Or is it just a new rumour based on the fact that nobody knows anything and everyone is just filling in their own information and it's now a case of broken telephone?

I'll admit, Horner's comments from yesterday and the fact that with Max not being happy with the car they need to start looking at a replacement for Max is making me anxious but I still do not see a reason for them to be all hush hush, and all "we will announce later" if it's a clear cut decision. The whishy washy nature of both Helmut and Christian is tiring and the rumours haven't ceased since the second Daniel joined Red Bull at the end of 2022, some favorable for him but most of it, the opposite.

Based on that podcast that Jaimi linked, it seems like even they don't know for sure. It's just something that's perceived. Just a week ago, we had journalists and photographers claiming that Daniel has the RBR seat. Now, people are claiming he's done for.

I think following accounts like slutforpringles on Tumblr and Meredith on Twitter, will give us some sort of calm, both accounts have been very level headed the entire year about every rumour that has come across and has taken all information into account.

To end, I do not think Daniel will be replaced this year especially not for his performance. He has been the better performing driver since atleast Canada and has been giving them feedback on their useless upgrades.

For next year, based on his overall attitude, I think whatever happens, it will be positive.
