Negotiations impossible as decision was made months ago - apparently the guy is on Yuki's managing team (and also works for SkySport Italy hence the posts on his insta)
Looking likely that things were set between summer break and Singapore, Liam always looked a tad too confident after stepping in for Daniel tbh.
https://x.com/hclaq_/status/1870297006838812993?t=LJmoH8dLLpXMO8utpn-43g&s=19
Oh wow anonstie thanks this is very interesting!! Yeah I think the fact Yuki's manager is commenting publicly like this about the situation kind of says it all really. Earlier this season Mat Coch was also supremely confident (seemed to be info from the Lawson camp) that Liam had already signed for 2024 and 2025.
It's not wholly surprising, but at the same time just makes me wonder why they kept Daniel after the summer break if this was always going to be the outcome. And if so how the fuck were Daniel and his management so blindsided by everything? And if Liam was already in the Red Bull for 2025 then why was it imperative to get him in a seat for this year. Maybe they decided on Liam after the USGP - would be completely on brand for current Red Bull to make a driver decision based on literally one race.
The decision to ditch Daniel seems to have come down to Marko regaining enough power to make that decision so I'm interested in exactly when that happened and how it affected the decision making. (via AMuS / RN365)
But also think the Honda of it all can't be ignored, and I think their decision to leave the sport, only to then change their mind after RBR had to make other plans, did also fuck Yuki over a bit.
Also Gerhard Berger is supposedly part of the Red Bull driver decision process and is a huge Lawson advocate, so that adds a whole extra layer of Shakespearean-type complication.
#genuinely think that Marko lost power when he hired Nyck instead of taking someone from the junior program.#his purpose in this team was to get drivers and he failed with nyck#not because Nyck was bad or anything but after the failure of Gasly and Albon his junior program was already in the trenches#he needed lawson to move up to cement his place there again and obviously Max's devotion to him helped keep his one leg in the door#they know Lawson isnt the answer but putting Daniel there would mean he wasnt the one making the decision#lawson is a placeholder and Marko has regained his power#this all just pisses me off so badly

That video IS a kick to the gut, but I think it's pretty reasonable to think that right now, he isn't even thinking about coming back.
Daniel wanted to prove to himself that he still had it and wanted to fall back in love with the sport, and he did that. No matter what anybody says, he proved that he still had it.
If we remember, the months after leaving Mclaren, he also didn't feel like coming back to the grid. Of course, that was for different reasons, but the bug bit, and soon he was itching.
BUT if this is his stance forever , then he deserves his rest now and and I hope that the wretched f1 media leaves him alone.
It's sad and upsetting because it didn't have to end this way, if Red Bull hadn't been so nasty, he would have remained a few more years.
I'm glad he's finding his peace.
But it the end of the day, he had a long, successful career, and that is never going to change.
#daniel ricciardo#a little bit upset but it is what it js#he deserves his rest now#and fuck red bull for taminf him away from me so early.#whatever you do next king#ill be there

"Permanently accredited F1 journalist" but continuously mentioning the person who is no longer part of F1. I said months ago that these journalists better pray and hope Daniel never loses his seat because they'd have nothing to write about, and I was right because why is he giving up his think pieces every two days about Daniel when he could be writing about anything else.
#daniel ricciardo#if he is on rbrs payroll theyre not beating the bitter ex allegations#if i cant have him dance to my tunes i will make sure noboby else has him kinda bullshit#why is HE hell bent on making us move on from Daniel???

My take on these journalists rewriting what happened and changing up on what they've previously said is that since DR hasn't spoken to anyone and no one was able to capitalize on his side of the story, they're trying to force him out of his happy little post Singapore bubble he has created for himself.
They spent the entire year gaining from his name, whether linked to the rbr seat or whether being replaced. (They spent most of the careers gaining from his name but that's a conversation for another day.)
I bet a lot of them assumed that once this was done, he'd speak, and therefore, they'd have more material, and he just isn't. I bet they also learned that Lawson to rbr is a big story but certainly nowhere as big as Daniel to rbr and so everytime they've mentioned Lawson or Perez or even Yuki, they'd sneak in a Daniel mention.
It gets clicks and responses, whether from us, his fans or haters.
They want him to speak. They want him to come out and say "but that's not true, this is what happened..."
They're NOT happy that he hasn't said a word and that he hasn't given anyone ANYTHING since then, we saw how everyone was foaming at their mouths to write about his little padel date with Max.
Red Bull + Lawson's PR is another topic all together.
But the bitterness that some of these journalists have towards Daniel really isn't normal. He has taken the narrative back and they're trying to force his hand.

This guy is pissing me off so badly that I'm incredibly close to taking my Twitter off private to respond.
I'm certain journalists think their average readers are just plain stupid because ;
1. DR needed more Miami sprints in a Vcarb to prove that he was a clear step up from someone barely making p10/q3 in a redbull.
2. DR was patchy which wasn't a clear step up from the person who was just plain bad all the time, not to mention the amount of damage. (Some bad races vs all bad races..mmh)
3. Lawson is currently the top runner for the seat, how many Miami sprints has he had? Was Austin enough?
4. Every second journalist is now confirming the swap was imminent, but sure, let's take the guy who made a whole post about Lawson saying goodbye seriously.
#i keep redbull seems to prefer consistency even if its consistently bad over anything else#what has daniel done to thia guy because he seems to HATE daniel#why cant they just leave him alone#they wanted him gone and he is gone so what now

Ricciardo F1 return rumours addressed amid shock Cadillac link
The Ricciardo camp has denied all rumours linking him to the new Cadillac F1 team, rumours that gained so much traction that other teams interested in approaching Daniel took them as confirmed. The Ricciardo camp has also played down a return to racing amidst the Toyota rumours.
#interesting about being bound to rbr until 2025.#makes sense though because he did sign a long term contract#i had a feeling his contract wasnt a typical drivers contract and thats why they were able to just drop him like that#perhaps he cant commit until whatever it is with rbr has ended

Genuinely have never held so much hatred and disdain for a group of people before in my entire life. Hoping for nothing but terrible, horrible things for every single person at Red Bull who made this season so fucking miserable for Daniel and his fans and have expressed not an ounce of remorse about it after the fact.
#more like we expected Daniel to be our show pony and he wouldn’t play ball so we’re a bit stuck now#yes THIS#and them constantly throwing new angles hoping one would stick

#be honest old man#you would like to keep a good relationship with all the sponsors he introduced you too#AND you never liked Daniel in the first place so whatever the fuck happened was a victory to you in your little battle with Horner#awful human beings#every single one of them in that can rot in the hell they created
