. . . ↳ Jisoo’s most notable characteristic is her kindness and caring nature towards others, which does connect with her outgoing social skills. Jisoo is a very optimistic character that people often see a radiating smile on her small face. She always wants her friends and the people around her to be uplifted if they are blue. Jisoo likes to create an atmosphere where everyone can be comfortable. Because of how much she wanted to become an idol, Jisoo is also filled with determination when it comes to tasks. At times, she can be competitive, but in a playful manner. Despite how passionate she is as an idol, she always expresses her humbleness, denying all compliments that people throw at her. She becomes shy at times when she hears compliments. Moreover, Jisoo does not like conflict and confrontations. She often tries to see things from two sides, hoping the best. Jisoo is also the type of person to not get angered. She is a much more calm person when it comes to negative situations. If a situation were to take a rough turn, Jisoo is able to stand up for herself, but it is tough on her to. An example being the long conflict between her and her mother—the only true drive for Jisoo’s emotions that she has ever experienced. On the other hand, negativity can take Jisoo’s energy out of her. Both outside negativity and internal negativity to herself affects how she acts that when it does, the result does appear like she has no energy compared to her usual self. In conclusion, however, Jisoo’s personality—at its brightest—can be reflected by pastel colors, which she does emphasize through her fashion style.

Trainee to Idol

. . . ↳ Jisoo has always looked up to idol groups since she was a little girl, such as 2NE1, Big Bang, Super Junior, and SHINee. She would learn the choreography and lyrics to the songs and perform them to herself in her room, especially 2NE1 and Big Bang’s music. Her parents did not support her dream of becoming an idol and believed that it was a ridiculous and useless career. Jisoo was constantly told by her parents, especially her mother, that she should not try to become one, but when the time came, Jisoo auditioned to YG and SM Entertainment without her parents’ knowledge in 2013. She was accepted to be a trainee, and for the first few months, her parents were against it. Compared to her father, Jisoo’s mother was the most against her idol dreams, scolding Jisoo and arguing with her to quit, but she refused. Arguments between the mother and daughter constantly included Jisoo’s mother telling her that she will not be recognized as an idol or last long in the music industry, but Jisoo decided to make it her goal to prove her mother wrong. Her first opportunity to prove herself was through her placement in NCT Switch, where she met group members who will be her lifelong friends and career partners, even after disbandment. Jisoo’s true success was not granted until she, along with two of her former NCT Switch group mates, formed the trio DYNSTY, slowly rising their way in the music industry.

. . . ↳ In a crowd, Suzy would not be the type to socialize. She is very shy and much of an introvert at first. She is also not the type of person to speak her mind; she always keeps her thoughts to herself and thinks about her actions before doing them. It takes a while for her to get comfortable with others and get out of her shell. Once Suzy knows a person and grows close to them, she can become loud and weird. And because she is from California, she likes to get hyped up and hype other people up. Suzy, in a way, absorbs people’s energy around her. By herself, she will typically remain timid and quiet, and this is what people often mistake about her personality. Her resting face does not help her case either. She is usually viewed negatively, but she does not let such comments affect her. Suzy only chooses to look forward, because she believes that others’ bad comments towards her are merely irrelevant. Despite her closed-off personality, Suzy is quite caring and kind to others. She is very respectful and calm, and it is only until someone gets on her nerves before she feels any sort of irritation.

Trainee to Idol

. . . ↳ Suzy has always wanted to become a professional dancer since she was 10 years old. A friend of hers back in America mentioned SM Auditions being held in the Los Angeles area and persuaded her to try it out. Her parents wanted Suzy to pursue her dreams because they knew how passionate she is on dancing, so they decided to fly hours away for her to audition. Once she got accepted into the company as a trainee at 12 years old, she flew out to Seoul in hopes that her acceptance and hard work will get her some recognition in performing. Despite auditioning as a dancer, Suzy’s talent also landed her in the opportunity of training to become a vocalist. Suzy had some ups and downs during her trainee days since she was and still is having difficulty communicating with others—not only because of the language barrier—but also because of how reserved she is. The struggles of being an anti-social and reserved foreigner made Suzy regret auditioning for SM Entertainment constantly, but she found her safe haven when she was placed in NCT Switch where she found members who spoke her language and made her feel comfortable and happy in South Korea.

. . . ↳ Mira’s most notable trait is her social skills. She is very outgoing and easy to talk to. She likes talking to people and making new friends. Mira is also much of a jokester who tries to find a way for others and herself to smile and laugh. She often enjoys teasing others, especially her close friends. Mira is also adventurous, and she is, in fact, open to new things. She is as open-minded as a person can ever get. Another notable trait of Mira is her determination and drive, especially when it comes to dancing. When she learns a new choreography, she does not quit until she gets it down perfectly. The main downside to Mira is how emotional she can get. She is the most sensitive compared to the other members, Suzy and Jisoo. This is because of her outgoing and optimistic personality that everyone knows she has. She often fears letting people down whether it’s in terms of her abilities as a performer or personality. Trainee to Idol

. . . ↳ Mira kicked off her career as a back-up dancer at the age of 17. Mira picked up small gigs before taking on much bigger ones. She simply focused on her passion for dancing, ignoring her talent in singing. It was a hobby of hers to sing once in a while, but dancing, creating and performing choreography was her forte. During her time as a backup dancer for numerous artists, Mira became interested in being much more. In 2016, she auditioned to become an SM trainee. Her reasoning for this company was particularly because of her absolute favorite artists: SHINee. Her trainee days were indeed tough, but she knew of the consequences and difficult days that each and every trainee endured before their days as an idol. She felt this would be a much bigger step in her dream career. Before she became an idol, she was recruited to be in Ten’s Dream in a Dream MV as one of the dancers. Mira was particularly with Ten himself in a duet choreography. Her participation in the MV was the first time she appeared in any NCT music video, before she was introduced as one of the members in 2018. After her contract ended with NCT Switch and SM Entertainment, Mira, along with two of her other group mates, formed the trio, DYNSTY, under a new company. This new group granted Mira a much, much bigger step in her career, and is currently the closest she has ever been to her dream.

. . . ↳ Before forming DYNSTY, all three members were in the former NCT sub-unit, NCT Switch. The sub-unit was merely for experimental purposes and officially disbanded on June 21, 2018, despite the love and support from fans that the group received from their debut and two mini albums. Few months after their contract with SM Entertainment, Mira, Suzy, and Jisoo signed under the new company ECLIPSE Entertainment, which is founded and established by Sewon Moon. The three formed a trio, releasing two pre-debut singles as an introduction. They debuted on September 27, 2018 with “FRUITY” and released a mini-album with the same name.
