like if u know that the predominant culture of japanese ethnonationalism & close ties to white supremacy overseas was strong enough to brainwash a nation to commit mass genocide and unspeakable war crimes across an entire continent & ally with nazi germany and italian fascists to establish a japanese empire inspired by western imperialism across the entirety of east and southeast asia and break every single convention of war and ethical rule regarding treatment of prisoners and civilians, and then subsequently deny any of this ever happened and somehow simulataneously worship this period in their history and threaten the lives of anyone who tries to speak out about it or acknowledge this happened in Any country across the globe and still refuses to apologise or pay reparations for any of this despite the lasting trauma and suffering and destruction still felt across asia to this day it's actually not at all surprising that japanese media including anime and video games & jpop idols are so unbelievably racist and get away with it & are even celebrated for doing things like blackface and using racial slurs and how people regularly harass and assault brown and black people and even ethnic koreans and chinese who live there but that's something that white westerners don't want to hear about or talk about bc it ruins their fetishised conceptualization of japan in which the country can be reduced to an infantile and simultaneously pornographic commodity consisting solely of ramen noodles, anime girls, cute countryside towns, quirky hotels, cherry blossoms, and ghibli films and absolutely nothing else.
this isn't to say either that racism toward japanese people is okay because it's not acceptable under any circumstances, and white westerners are especially guilty of this in their discussions of ww2 and the japanese diaspora. i shouldn't have to say that the predominant culture of a country and its political history doesn't mean the people should be treated like shit especially by white people but u have to put a disclaimer on everything on this website

Looking For POC Musicians to Listen To
It’s come to my attention that most of the musicians I listen to are white, so I want to expand my taste to include more musicians of color. Thing is, I have a pretty weird music taste.
If you could recommend POC musicians in the genres I listen to that’d be very helpful!
Types of music I listen to:
- Pop violin (e.g. Lindsey Stirling, Taylor Davis)
- Rock and metal (e.g. Evanescence, Nightwish, Within Temptation)
- Folk and Celtic music (e.g. Blackmore’s Night, Celtic Woman, Faun)
- Calm, emotional, or cheerful music (e.g. AURORA, First Aid Kit, HANA)
- Instrumental trailer music (e.g. Ivan Torrent, Two Steps From Hell, Marcus Warner)
- Just pretty weird music in general (e.g. Grimes, Kerli)
- Movie, TV show, or video game soundtracks
- Or you can just recommend any non-mainstream POC musicians you think I should check out
#hmmm maybe you could try listening to Jaloo?#his duet with mc tha called 'céu azul' is pretty good#the song 'chuva' is also nice

being in your early twenties is like [grocery shopping alone] [having instant noodles for dinner] [remembering random details about that one friend you haven't spoken to in five years] [feeling overwhelming guilt for every purchase that isn't strictly "necessary"] [having midday naps] [finding out through facebook that the girl who was mean to you in high school has a husband and a baby] [falling a little in love with every stranger on public transport] [pretending you're not afraid of being alone] [wondering when you'll feel like a fully realized person] [listening to bands you liked in middle school] [blinking and it's suddenly december] [failing to imagine yourself ten years from now] [feeling like you're running out of time]

Y'all I wanna know what you think of something
There's currently an argument happening on Brazilian Twitter and I wanna know your opinions.
So, there's this famous Brazilian artist called Romero Britto who's currently going viral on Twitter because a woman destroyed one of his pieces right in front of him.
Her husband bought her the piece and she owned a restaurant, where Romero Britto happened to be with some friends. He tried bargaining for an R$ 8 coffee (less than 2 dollars!), even though he's a VERY wealthy artist, and was really rude to the woman's employees. So, she told him off for being an asshole and then destroyed the piece in front of Romero Britto himself.
Do you think that's:
A. Queen behaviour
Or B. Disrespectful?
