@irnwll random ass starter
Being ignored by Jake wasn’t an unusual occurrence for Felix, for he had a way of getting under his skin. Sometimes it was intentional, the blond figuring out all the little ways that he could push Jake’s buttons and get a rise out of him, and sometimes it was genuinely just a clash of personality types. While Felix was social and outgoing and loud, always having something to say and liking to start shit and get into trouble, Jake was a bit more reserved and cold. In some ways, they could be described as polar opposites: the most unlikely of friends. If they hadn’t met the way they did, it was likely they wouldn’t pay each other any mind. It was entirely possible that Jake would’ve avoided him entirely and assumed the worst of him, while Felix would’ve figured Jake was just another typical rich asshole who didn’t give a shit about those in poverty.
Grabbing a stress ball off a nearby shelf, Felix tossed it up and down a few times in his hand, getting a feeling for the weight of it. Jake was in the process of walking down the aisle, trying to find the things they’d need for the road trip they were going to go on, and he was completely unaware of what was about to hit him--literally. Pulling his arm back to take aim, Felix then whipped the stress ball full speed down the aisle. Half a second later, it smacked Jake on the back of the head with a startlingly loud noise. It had been enough to make Felix come undone and start laughing, his lanky figure bent over to put his hands against his knees and support himself. He knew that had to have hurt, but that was sort of the point. ❝ Yo, fuckin’ listen to me. ❞

⸸˖ ‒‒‒‒‒ 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖘𝖎𝖒𝖕𝖑𝖊 𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 smile on her face was enough to make it crack into a wider grin, although Shiloh had continued to do her best to fight it off. After a few moments, she’d managed to do so with some slight success, save for the twitching of one corner of her lips. ❝ Yeah, well, ❞ she shrugged. ❝ -lets not make it worse. ❞
Shiloh moved away from the lanky blonde then, just as she’d heard Soren’s footsteps approaching from outside of the mausoleum. ❝ Thank fuck, ❞ she breathed, exhaling a sigh of relief. ❝ Where the hell did you find this guy? ❞ She asked, carding her fingers through the roots of her hair to push the soft locks away from her face, all the while flashing Felix a grin. He was a little annoying, but in a charming sort of way.
Soren’s immediate response was to laugh as he entered the small space, swinging the sledgehammer back and forth by his side while lanky strides carried him past them. ❝ Why? What’d he do? ❞ He asked through a wide grin, his dark gaze briefly catching the light hues of Felix’s on his way by. He knew him well enough by now to know that he was incapable of resisting stirring the pot, and so he wasn’t surprised to hear that he’d done something to ruffle Shiloh’s feathers while he’d been away.
A small shake of her head was given. ❝ Nothing. He’s just a knob. ❞ She moved away from the wall to get a better view as Soren began to dismantle the stone wall that covered the crypt, chunks of rock crumbling off and clattering to the ground in billowing clouds of dust.
Content with the reaction he’d gotten from Shiloh, Felix decided against doing anything more to push her buttons. It was fun to do from time to time, some people proving to be more entertaining to piss off than others, but being unbearably irritating definitely wasn’t the goal when it came to talking to women. Especially the attractive ones, which he most definitely didn’t want to reach the point of no return with.
❝ Finally, ❞ Felix said after Soren had returned with a sledgehammer and, to his relief, no security accompanying him. Good. His voice likely hadn’t traveled far enough to reach anyone’s ears and alert them to intruders. Rolling his eyes at the question of where Soren had found him, he breathed a laugh before responding. ❝ Me? I’m just the lovable stray that followed him home. ❞ The sarcasm was unmistakable in his tone, and his grin only grew wider when he heard Shiloh calling him a knob.
❝ Dude, this better not take us to another fucking dead end. It’s not even my dad who’s missing, but you got me all invested now and I wanna find the son of a bitch too, ❞ Felix said as he watched the long-haired male begin to swing the sledgehammer at the wall and gradually break pieces of it off. It looked kind of fun, actually.

⸸˖ ‒‒‒‒‒ 𝕬𝖋𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝖘𝖜𝖎𝖋𝖙𝖑𝖞 𝖈𝖔𝖗𝖗𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝖇𝖊𝖍𝖆𝖛𝖎𝖔𝖗, Shiloh had expected Felix to quiet down and heed her warning, but he surprised her by doing the exact opposite and calling out into the quiet of the night once again. Her dark eyes widened and her head pivoted, snapping quickly in his direction as the frown that she wore creased itself deeper into her features. She was almost too shocked to be upset.
Swiftly closing the distance between them, Shiloh delivered a firm swat to the male’s arm, the faintest of smiles creeping in to mix with the frown that she wore. Despite the serious nature of the situation, she couldn’t help but see the humor in it. She wasn’t looking to run from the cops tonight, however, and so she needed to make herself perfectly clear. ❝ Shut the fuck up, ❞ she warned him, doing her best to hide the inflection of a giggle in her tone as she glared up at him. She could only imagine how unintimidating she looked, however, as he towered above her. ❝ You’re a fucking idiot. ❞
From the moment Shiloh began to quickly walk towards him, Felix knew that she was either going to smack him to get him to shut up, or pathetically attempt to cover his mouth. Being as short and tiny as she was, neither of those were going to work too well for her. It was soon made apparent that she had chosen the former, her hand smacking against his arm with a decent amount of force behind it. To no surprise, it only drew laughter from the tattooed male.
❝ I can see you trying not to laugh. You know it’s a little funny, ❞ Felix pointed out, able to both see the hint of a grin on her face and the threat of laughter lingering in her tone. He wasn’t going to push his luck though, because he didn’t want to fuck everything up and ruin it all for Soren. He was a pretty cool dude who just wanted to find his dad, and Felix would actually feel a little bad if he fucked that up for him.
Shiloh’s warnings, however, did absolutely nothing and she didn’t look threatening whatsoever, but it was at least cute and he liked that she had a spine. ❝ I’ve been told I’m an idiot a few times before, but I think it’s fair to say that being here at all, with a plan to break into a dead guys resting place with a sledgehammer, is all sorts of stupid anyway. ❞

⸸˖ ‒‒‒‒‒ 𝖂𝖍𝖎𝖑𝖊 𝕾𝖍𝖎𝖑𝖔𝖍 𝖘𝖚𝖕𝖕𝖔𝖘𝖊𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙 𝖘𝖍𝖊 would have plenty of free time in the upcoming weeks, as she didn’t have any personal to-do list in the small seaside town and a rather limited list of connections within it, she still wasn’t entirely sure that devoting any of that free time to the tatted-up blonde was a good idea. Still, as she tended to do, she ignored her better judgement and nodded her head. ❝ Maybe. ❞
Before she could say much else, Felix had broken through the still of the night by calling out for Soren, causing a frown to crease into her features and her head to raise. ❝ Jesus christ, shut up! ❞ She warned him. ❝ You wanna tweet about it too? Let everyone know that we’re illegally breaking into a someone’s crypt? ❞ Her arms folded over her chest then, her back slumping back up against the stone wall.
Just like Felix, Shiloh was beginning to grow a little antsy as she waited for Soren’s return, but she knew that the walk from the trail to the top of the hill was decently long. It wasn’t as though they’d been able to park in the intended lot, as they’d leave behind too much evidence to follow, should they get caught. She just hoped that it wasn’t the groundskeeper that was causing the stall in the Captain’s return.
Admittedly, it had been stupid on Felix’s part to raise his voice in a crypt that they’d just illegally broken into, and maybe he’d gotten a little too comfortable with it being the dead of night when nobody was around; except for whoever was working the graveyard shift, probably. Even so, the reprimanding he got from Shiloh only brought a devilish grin to his lips, and there wasn’t a hint of regret to be seen on his face.
❝ Nevermind, nobody is in here! The crypt is empty! ❞ Felix called out again, though not quite as loudly as last time since he didn’t actually want any of them to get caught. He was playing with fire regardless, because it was very possible that he could fuck everything up for them and make them have to come back another time to try again, but he was fairly certain that it would be fine. ❝ Tweet about it? C’mon, now you’re just being ridiculous. I know you’re frustrated, but calm down. You’re gonna wake the dead. ❞

iiincapacity:
his sudden aggression caused her to take a step back, arm falling to her side as he yanked his own away from her grasp. the detransformation happened fast, and pearly whites tugged at her lower lip. she almost felt embarrassed, hands moving to pull at the bottom of her bloody shirt absentmindedly, a sign of her anxiety. she knew that letting him know what she was wasn’t going to go well, but she also wasn’t exactly anticipating having to tell him this way.
she remained silent as he tried to will himself to speak, but it was apparent to her that he couldn’t find the words —– which was valid. before her transformation, if she had witnessed something like this? she would have screamed and fled to safety. she understood that most people had no actual knowledge of the supernatural, let alone knowing they existed. tracy vividly remembered the first time she’d seen the dread doctors, how scared she was, and how she thought it was just a night terror —– not real. but it was, and in the end, she became one of their science experiments, tortured with cold metal instruments. she died by their hand when they deemed her a FAILURE. she knew what it was to be afraid.
she’d gone through so much; her logic could undoubtedly be flawed.
she didn’t know how to fix this or calm felix down. “ i’m a chimera, ” it came quietly, dark eyes staring at the crimson painted ground. she knew he wouldn’t understand, likely wouldn’t have any idea what a chimera was. she wouldn’t explain it if she had to kill him by the end of this interaction, but she didn’t want to.
pulling in a deep breath, she put more space between them, shoes squelching through the deceased’s innards. now that she wasn’t killing them, it was rather repulsive. she nearly cringed at the sound, stomach growing upset. “ please, felix. ”why was she begging him? the kanima swallowed thickly and held her hands up in defeat, no claws to be seen now. “ i saved your life. ” that man had a gun, and she had no doubt that he was going to use it.
A chimera? Whatever the fuck that was, Felix had never heard the name before, but her transformation back to appearing human was at least quick and relieving. It didn’t change what she’d done, but at least she didn’t look absolutely terrifying, minus the fact that she was covered in thick layers of blood. Truthfully, he felt like he’d lost his mind. Thinking that someone had transformed back into a human sounded absolutely batshit, as if this was some sort of fictional universe he was living in. However, it was undeniable that he’d seen what she’d done to those people, and he’d seen the way her claws had shredded them so effortlessly.
Nose scrunching slightly at the sound of blood and guts squishing beneath the other’s shoes, Felix forced himself to look away from the ground. He was never one to have a weak stomach when it came to gore, but this? This was too disgusting. Instead, he focused on the other figure, who had backed up to put some space between them. Good. Beneath all that blood, he came to realize that she actually looked familiar to him and her voice was one he’d heard before too. His eyes narrowed slightly, trying to put the puzzle pieces together. She knew his name?
❝ You know who I am? ❞ Felix asked after she’d pleaded his name, as if to get him to lower his defenses and understand that she was innocent. Yeah, right. She hardly looked the part, and he wasn’t about to just casually accept what he’d just witnessed and deem her harmless for saving his life. A few seconds later, and it had finally clicked with him where he recognized her from. It wasn’t someone he knew well, but they’d had a pretty wild way of meeting.
❝ Wait...Tracy? The crazy chick who murdered a dude by throwing a TV at him? No fucking way. Have you been following me this whole time? ❞ This only left him with even more questions to be answered, but it was hard to think when every inch of his body was aching and distracting him. ❝ Man, none of this bullshit is making sense to me. Did those guys drug me? This feels like a real bad fuckin’ trip, and I’ve never heard the word chimera before in my life. ❞

⸸˖ ‒‒‒‒‒ 𝕴𝖙 𝖜𝖆𝖘𝖓'𝖙 𝖆𝖘 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖚𝖌𝖍 𝕾𝖍𝖎𝖑𝖔𝖍 couldn’t see the appeal that her abilities might have to an ignorant stranger, as it all did sound pretty fascinating on a surface-level, but she was sure that even the most awe-struck of individuals would see things differently if they knew of the torment that came with the power. Truth be told though, Shiloh would have preferred that someone glorify her lifestyle if the alternative was a pity party. Besides, it wasn’t as though she genuinely cared about anyone’s opinion. They wouldn’t affect her.
A nod of Shiloh’s head was given in response to Felix’s answer, a grin faintly drawing at her lips. She knew what sort of creature he was talking about, but she couldn’t say that she knew the name of it either. Those little dudes that have a flashlight poking outta their heads was about as good as she probably could have done too.
Delicate fingers toyed with the fishnet stockings that covered her thighs, some of the fabric already torn with holes due to her fidgeting. It was rare that a new pair ever lasted her more than a month. ❝ I like the little flashlight dudes too, ❞ she agreed, a short pause following as she tried to figure out a bone to throw him. ❝ I’ve got a cool scar from a ghost with melting skin. That count? ❞
Even with how little Felix had spoken to Shiloh, he could tell that she was weird, and it wasn’t the kind that he was used to either. The girls he knew were wild cards and sometimes outright crazy, but Shiloh was a different kind of weird. The best comparison he could think of was back in elementary, where someone would be singled out as an oddball and everyone would avoid them because they were just strange. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing though, and obviously he wasn’t about to reenact the shit he would’ve done as a child.
❝ A ghost with melting skin? ❞ Felix asked, quirking a brow. Everything about the supernatural was still so fresh and new to him, and he’d barely even scratched the surface when it came to learning about it. Naturally, he was really curious about it and could probably spit out a hundred questions about it within the span of a few minutes. On the other hand, not knowing was probably wiser in some cases. ❝ Sure, that counts. Dunno how long you’re planning on sticking around for, but maybe you can tell me the story sometime, ❞ he suggested, shoulders shrugging. It was just an idea, nothing that he was trying to make into a solid plan. ❝ Yo, Soren! C’mon, dude. I’m gonna be joining the dead in here at this rate, ❞ he called out, wondering if his voice would reach the sailor’s ears or not.

@drugrush liked for a starter!!
tracy found herself following felix more than once, and she always kept herself out of sight —– kept distance between them. he'd never brought it up in conversation before, so she guessed he'd never caught her. NOT YET. was she wrong to think he might fall into a bad situation and need help? she wasn't sure where the anxiety stemmed from or why she cared, but she did. perhaps it was who he was, someone she knew had a habit of getting into trouble. or maybe it was some part of WHAT she was. a kanima who craved a connection, a werewolf who needed a pack. she'd chosen him.
her suspicions were proven correct when felix was suddenly surrounded by shady-looking men. one man held a gun in his hands, yellow slitted eyes paying close attention. she wouldn't make herself known until she knew the time was right. they were all human —– including felix, and he was left in the dark entirely when it came to her species. she was dangerous, a blood-thirsty monster, and she preferred to keep it to herself when it came to him, unless exposing it was necessary. at this moment, she knew how it would end. it would be necessary.
it wasn't long before their ‘talk' had become violence, and felix was on the ground, steel-toed feet stomping against his ribs, his stomach —– even his head. tracy could feel the anger building, burning like an uncontrollable fire within her chest. it'd already gone too far. when that same man with the gun raised it, a ferocious snarl roared out from between bared fangs. of course, it caught their attention. all eyes on the trees. she emerged with supernatural speed, claws and tail swinging through the air, causing tears and rips in their clothing and skin.
every man had dropped to the ground around felix, almost like some sort of ritual, eyes blown wide with terror, and it was likely upon the realization that they couldn’t move. another roar of aggression, slitted eyes scanning each man quickly before glancing at felix. she knew he was horrified; she could feel it. she wouldn't let anyone hurt him again, which was a promise.
these men weren't getting away with it. not one of them would live on to be considered a witness. tracy would never be so stupid. (except she'd left felix alive before, and she would again. ) they had all been injected with paralytic venom, and she relished in the look of dread in their eyes just for a moment. they were so scared, and she was feeding off of it; they knew what was coming, and they'd deeply REGRET their decision.
then it was enough. these men's fears would become a reality, and tracy was pleased hers would be the last face they ever saw before they took their last breaths. it began, claws slashing through flesh, ribs CRACKING under the force of each swipe, blood spraying through the air, hitting nearby cars and coating the pavement. she didn't let up until their intestines were splayed free beside them. her clothes were drenched in crimson, her hair was caked with chunks and blood, and felix was likely traumatized.
once she could no longer hear their hearts beating, she headed towards felix, and a bloodied hand reached down to grip his wrist, tugging him up from the ground. “ i won’t let anything happen to you, ever again. ” DEJA VU.
Getting into fights, especially in the part of the city where Felix lived, wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. He had scars on his knuckles from years of getting into fist fights with people, and in some cases, knives or guns would even be pulled on people to give them the upper hand. It’d been some time since he’d been jumped, Felix having a fair bit of street smarts and knowing what areas to avoid walking alone, but he’d had the misfortune of being followed and cornered by a group of men. Outnumbered, he knew that this situation could play out one of two ways: Either he’d be left severely injured, or they’d just kill him and he’d turn up as another nobody in the newspaper that would be forgotten about by the next day. The best option he had was to hold his tongue and do what he could to cooperate with them, but even that hadn’t been good enough for them.
It wasn’t long before Felix found himself on the ground, struggling to block their movements as they began to relentlessly lay into him. Every time he tried to get up, another firm kick to his ribs would have him succumbing to the pain, his hands doing little to shield himself from the blunt force of their steel-toed boots. The panic really began to build when they went on to target his head as well, stomping against his skull and even his fingers when he tried to lessen the impact. His face was uncomfortably scraping against the pavement below him, body aching and protesting against his motions. This was it, he thought. The gun had finally been aimed at him, and there was no way for him to avoid it. Dying young had always been in the cards. He knew that much, but this? This wasn’t how he wanted to go out—and as if he’d pathetically beg for his life to men who would just laugh and mock him for it. Fuck that.
Staring down the barrel of the gun, he’d been fully expecting for the trigger to be pulled when, instead, a loud snarling had grabbed their attention—even his own. He hardly had time to figure out what kind of dangerous animal was lurking nearby that had made that kind of unsettling noise, for someone or something had just appeared in the span of half a second. His eyes were wide while watching the scene play out in front of him, something bloodier and more graphic than any gory movie he’d ever seen before. Flesh, blood guts and sinew was everywhere, painting the walls, pavement, cars and whatever else happened to be nearby, and it was all due to a set of claws viciously tearing the men apart. If he didn’t end up dying tonight, it would be a memory that would surely follow him to his dreams.
Even if he wanted to make a run for it, the bruising and aching all over his body wouldn’t allow him to get anywhere fast, so instead Felix remained frozen in place. Had just just died and gone to hell, which he knew would be a rightful place for him, and witnessed a literal demon? He couldn’t make sense of it, but whatever this thing was, she was downright terrifying and menacing. He was the last to be approached by her and could feel his heart beginning to hammer in his chest, eyes observing the chunks of blood and torn flesh that covered her from head to toe. Rather than tearing into him next, however, her actions had been gentle in comparison. A hand, slick with crimson, had pulled him up to his feet despite the groan that fell from between his lips in objection to the movements. Even her words had been kind, albeit unnerving. Why? Why did she care whether he lived or died?
❝ What the fuck are you? Keep your distance, ❞ Felix snapped, harshly pulling his hand away from her grasp and taking a few steps back until he was met with the chain link fence, which he hooked his fingers into to aid him with standing. Sure, she’d saved him from certain death and maybe he should’ve been thanking her, but like hell he was going to trust a thing that just ripped a bunch of men to shreds. ❝ They’re all—you just—❞ he couldn’t even find the words to describe what had just happened. ❝ Holy fuck. ❞

she took note of his name when he spoke, felix. she paid close attention to his heartbeat; it would tell her whether or not he lied. and he hadn’t. nodding, she listened to his spiel about places she could stay. she didn't care if the location was sketchy; she could handle herself. he didn't know that, or at least to its full extent. tracy had no issue eliminating anyone she felt she had to or wanted to —– which made her very untrustworthy, especially if she made her mind up upon the first introduction. in that case, the person's fate had already been sealed. until they reached the vehicle, she remained silent, as if she needed the extra time to think, and in a way, she did.
she kept up with him to the best of her ability, walking up to the passenger door in time for him to unlock it, and that's when she grabbed the handle to let herself in. she hopped in and pulled the door closed, reaching for the seatbelt. she was nearly indestructible, but that didn't mean she wanted to be thrown from a car if they happened to get in an accident. plus, it would simply add to the argument that she was human. she could hear the sirens approaching, causing a rush of adrenaline that clouded her senses. how thrilling. it was far louder to her than it would be to him, which only added to the excitement she felt. they really had to get out of there.
“ shady?” she finally broke the silence on her end, shifting her body to face him, and dark eyes examined the tattooed skin of his arms. “ could you think of anywhere better? ” her eyebrows furrowed, then she gazed out the window. he had to be joking. “ you don't think i'd be an easy target?” she had no right to make demands or pass judgment, but at her size, she had a point. especially if she were human. did he want her to get hurt?
Once Tracy had climbed on into the car, Felix wasted no time in stepping on the gas the moment he heard the passenger door swing shut. Even as they put some distance between the vehicle and the house where a dead man lay in a pool of blood, he was still feeling very much so on edge. His mind filled with thoughts of investigators finding evidence and then him being tracked down and thrown behind bars. With all the new, fancy technology they had these days, it was harder to get away with certain crimes.
Eyes momentarily leaving the road, Felix glanced over to see Tracy sporting a frown on her face. Obviously, his suggestion wasn’t one that was sitting well with her, but it only elicited laughter from him in response. ❝ Tell you what, little Miss Murder, I’m your getaway driver right now, so we’ll go where I fucking wanna go. You can get your ass out and walk to the nearest five star hotel if you’re so picky, ❞ he stated, his tone firm but still holding a hint of playfulness to it. This situation was anything but funny, but it was humorous that she was actually trying to make demands after she’d just killed someone with a TV and dragged him into the mess. Besides, humor was just another way of coping with shitty situations.
❝ If this is your excuse to try to come with me to my place, you can just say you wanna fuck me. Seriously, you don’t have to try so hard. You’re cute enough, ❞ Felix added, his gaze directed in front of him while a cheeky smile tugged at his lips.

‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ HE DIDN’T EVEN BOTHER GOING back to the previous topic , letting it die out like the majority of Hufflepuffs did later on in the series. If Felix was interested in Harry Potter, why not divulge more of it to him in the meantime? It sure as fuck beat the inevitable loss he was about to suffer and probable bragging rights it’d give his captor for the rest of the night. So, before he soured the mood by being a cheering sore winner, Jake would prolong it just a tad, leaning on the table with his elbow propping up his head.
❝ If it were friendship and magic, I’d of probably vomited when my brother showed me it. The demonic things that suck out your soul come in the third movie, but the whole ghost that got murdered in the stall by a giant basilisk comes in the second – the first is just as fucked up, too…it’s all really fucked up, if that tells you it’s not making rainbows shoot out of wands 24/7… ❞ Then again, Adam was the type who’d try anything once ; he even watched a few episodes of My Little Pony before he turned off the TV and asked for eye bleach ; it was a secret he told Jake to take to the grave, but he’d probably tell it one day – the day Adam pisses him off enough in front of a group. ❝ It’s a really badass bird, horse, centaur hybrid thing – like, it’s got the body of a horse but it’s a griffin bird head and has wings on its back. It can attack things and you have to earn its trust before you can ride on it… ❞
❝ Maybe if I’m really...really....really bored one day, I’ll give it a shot, ❞ Felix said, knowing all too well that he’d probably forget all about this conversation once they parted ways. It would probably come back to his mind the next time Harry Potter was mentioned, but it just wasn’t important enough to him to make a conscious effort to watch the movies. Years of thinking it was all friendship and magic had deterred him from it, and it was hard to wrap his mind around it being a much darker and intricate story than that. In some ways, it actually sounded pretty cool.
❝ Bird, horse, centaur? I don’t even know what the fuck to imagine for that combination. ❞ Frowning faintly, he listened to Jake attempt to explain it. Body of a horse, head of a griffin, and it had wings. He could vaguely picture it, but it still looked a little wonky in his head. ❝ Sounds dope, but also really fucking weird. Wizards and hippos aside, I think I have the win. You ready to lose? ❞
