a silly idea i had. largely my personal interpretations based off of what i've seen over the past half decade i say hetalia is past its prime because i feel like all the posts i see of it have all been from the early 2010s . i don't think i've ever seen a hetalia post past that point in time. are you guys still alive

There's an open pit in the middle of our office plan that drops down into a bunch of very sharp spikes that kill you instantly. This is bad. People keep falling in there and dying. Someone put a sign up, the other day, all bright yellow so you can't miss it, that says "Beware!!! Spikes!!!"

The office immediately split into two factions over it. One says that if anyone falls in the spike pit it's their own fault for being so stupid and not watching where they're walking, so we should remove the sign. The other says that the sign is an insult, there shouldn't be a spike pit in our office at all, and having the sign up like that is just normalising the existence of the spike pit, so we should remove the sign.

We ended up removing the sign. Probably for the better. Still... for a while there it looked like it might have worked...

Everytime I see posts like this I get filled with such profound sadness

Cause you know who has the same brainrot as you? The same unhinged feelings as you after you've read the fic? The person who always wants to scream about the fic with you?

I never used to leave comments but since I got into the habit of commenting on everything i enjoy it's been incredible. Especially when the author gets back to me about it and we get to have a discussion of what other ideas they had. One writer replied to my comment with a 5 paragraph essay detailing the Floorplan of the building the characters lived in and it was incredible

Anyways this is all to say that if you find a fic that just makes you want to scream from the rooftops, leave a comment saying that to the author and maybe they will join you and you can scream incoherently together

I was looking at contact paper because I have some shelves to line like some kind of adult and while I was innocently browsing, I came across this. 

Horrifying. But it got worse.

Fan fic is a potluck Sometimes you get fine dining, sometimes you get bananas cut in half. Occasionally you get a strange omelet abomination labeled "souffle". Assuming it's not a troll, all of it was made with love.

You don't have to read it all, you don't have to give it all likes (or whatever your site's equivalent is) but don't go into someone's comment section and be nasty.

At some point "fanfic can be as good as professional writing" became "fanfic should be as good as professional writing" and that's caused major damage to fandom spaces.

For whatever reason, food keeps popping up. Characters eating, weird visual metaphors, idioms. I don't know what that means, maybe I need to stop writing when I'm hungry...

sometimes a theme recurs in your work without your permission. and sometimes it reaches a threshold where you're like. well now i think this is saying something about me against my will. don't know what though
