As you all know, this is the end of Driftertale as you knew it. That doesn’t mean that it will die forever though. In this post i will describe everything i had planned for this AU and anyone who is interested, is free to use some or all of the ideas presented here or even continue the AU by themselves. As my Meme-self would say: It’s free real estate.

Also quick self-advertisemnt: If you’ve been following this blog and don’t know yet, i also have another AU called @charatale-au that i plan on finishing. You may also visit my personal blog @lizzy-mun where i post art and original comics in the future.

I guess it’s best to start with explaining what happened in the last few updates. Basically Frisk tried to reset but ended up in “the Void” where Gaster is too.  Gaster tried to use Frisks soul and DT to create a portal and use Frisks body as a vessel to return to his timeline, but since Frisks Soul is much more powerful than he anticipated, everything goes wrong. Frisks Soul and body become extremely unstable and briefly open a gateway through time and space that Frisk is thrown through.  Due to being exposed to the void and being thrown outside of any timeline and having an unstabel soul and lots of determination they end up shifting to a random timeline. And they keep shifting to new timelines every now and then, which is where their Nickname Drifter eventually comes from.

Drifter would then travel to a multitude of timelines and universes. I haven’t really decided what AUs i wanted to use but here are some things that would definitely happen at one point or another:

Drifter meets Error and they fight. That would happen pretty early on and Drifter would find out that they can use magic now, even tho they can’t really control it yet. But since they absorbed a boss monster soul, their magic is incredibly powerful

Drifter befriends Papyrus and he gives them a red scarf as sign of their friendship.

They meet Core Frisk and visit the Omega Timeline

They meet Kara, the main antagonist. She’s a wizard-chara who can travel through time and space and uses shadow-magic. Her plan is to gather powerful souls that she can use to become god and create her own perfect universe.

Kara wants to get Drifter!chara’s soul and first tries to trick Frisk in giving it to her and later hires Crimson, a genocidal Frisk, to kill Drifter. Crimson actually succeeds in killing Drifter. But Kara appears and attacks him so he has to retreat. Kara makes Drifter!chara believe that she’s on their side and makes a deal with them. Kara uses her magic (which she gets from Gaster, by the way) to give D!chara a temporary magic body so they can avenge Frisk and Kara uses the deal to claim their soul later.

Once Kara got D!charas soul she absorbs all the souls she gathers and becomes like god and starts creating a chaotic amalgamation of timelines. (think Weirdmageddon)

Gaster would then bring back Drifter by creating a new body for them. (They actually created a spare magic vessel inside Drifters soul earlier. They talked about it in one of the last updates) Frisk tries to fight Kara but ultimately fails and is killed again. This time Kara absorbs their Soul and all hope is lost.

But of course Drifter has the power of love and anime on their side and they managed to call out to the other souls that Kara absorbed. Together they manage to overthrow Kara (like the souls in the Photoshop Flowey fight) and manage to RESET. With the power that Kara possessed at that time, all the timelines she destroyed where restored by that reset and Drifter was send back to their own timeline, where they do a pacifist run (except Toriel is still ded)

And that would be the End

I also had some ideas to continue the story after that as an ask blog, where Frisk saves Asriel by injecting themselves with DT from Alphys lab and splitting their soul in half so Asriel can have one part of it.

The story would continue on the surface and more stuff could happen but i haven’t really thought of much, except that Asriel would have PTSD from his time as Flowey and would actually sometimes see Flowey talking to him lure him into reseting once again.

Also Drifter would try to use their magic for justice by becoming a vigilante, much to the dismay of Asriel who of course doesn’t know at first that Frisk is that new Hero.

I think that is all that i can think of at the moment. As i said, all the ideas are free to use. You can use them in your own AU, try to make your own Driftertale or do whatever. Credit me or don’t, i don’t really mind.

The Plan.

Driftertale is dead. Once again.  I got a short boost of motivation for a moment but that spark is long gone too. And i feel my spark for undertale vanishing, as well. I am so full of ideas and motivation for new things that i decided to kill this AU for good.

I’m going to make a seperate Post some day in the future that explains everything i have planned for the story, and then i will move on to new projects
