When most people can’t sleep at 6 am and want to go back to bed I bet they count sheep or something more normal. I lay awake wondering how much more canon I have to watch before I can feasibly write a fic of Donna telling Josh she’s pregnant because I can’t let go of this vision. (I just need a moment where it feels good to write that story and I don’t feel ready yet.)

And then I have to think of how I can’t read other fics with this plot so I don’t accidentally copy someone.

I love seeing all the little moments with Donna in the waiting room of the hospital. Mrs. Landingham holding her hand like a grandmother comforting her grandchild, Abbey telling her not to worry about anything Josh’s office needs to do and it’s all taken care of. They so know how special her bond to Josh is, and I’m here for it. That and Janel Moloney being in the main credits now.

The Season 2 premiere of The West Wing is making me want to write some Josh/Donna or CJ-centric fic. The way Donna just melts and goes into denial when she finds out Josh was shot hurts me to the core.

Pleasantly surprised and amused that CJ doing “the Jackal” is her dancing around awkwardly, like very clear Mom dancing, and lip syncing. Or was she actually singing? She’s like the fun aunt who’s had a little too much to drink at a wedding.

Liv Tyler’s character on this show is the worst. I can’t even stand listening to her speak. But she leaves soon thank God. I didn’t even care when she was in the hospital.

So happy going through my feed and tags and seeing so much positive Carter content after being puzzled at all the hate he gets elsewhere. This may be what I needed to get excited about ER again. Keep it up, all of you!

I have to admit I’m not even watching this show for the political dialogue at this point because it’s hard to follow and moves so fast. But more for the little moments like Jed and Abbey having a yelling argument, realizing it’s their first fight in the Oval Office, and then immediately going back to normal speaking level and talking about how they don’t want their daughter to date while walking out arm in arm. Now that’s love and marriage.

Love how Bobby’s just so chill about this since he’s seen what Athena can do to push herself just a little further in every emergency.

I love Jeb even more now that I’ve learned he’s married to a doctor! And I also adore the way Abbey takes care of him and takes charge when she comes back, like thanks for the help official White House Doctor but I’m here now and can figure this out.

Leo’s “Who the hell is this guy and why should I care if he has a Merry Christmas?” describes me at the holidays being forced to spend time with extended extended family that I see once a year and do not care about. So, relatable.

I’m still not sure who my favorite and least favorite West Wing characters are, but my early votes are Jed for favorite (because of his love of useless trivia and how supportive he is of his staff overall) and least favorite is Sam because he seems like a terrible date and the show could’ve done without his call girl plot.

Just random thoughts from someone who’s only seen eight episodes of this show.

Also, the dialogue is really quick and witty…I never get bored with the back and forth.

Showcasing another genfic as @genuary-fic-event continues!

In this Coburn family fic, Janet suffers a concussion and Caitlyn stays with her to look after her while she recovers. However, things get tense when Caitlyn’s anxiety and concern becomes more visible than it should, and she has to re-learn how to best support her mother and understand her needs.

Can easily be read fandom blind. Good fic if you like role reversal (daughter taking care of her mother), doctor as the patient, hurt/comfort and fics about healing from an injury.

This was one of my favorite fics to write because it’s always a good challenge to put Coburn in a vulnerable position and see how she responds (slight spoiler alert: she is not a good patient).
