Finally watched the pilot of The West Wing after many years of saying I wanted to watch the series but never getting to it until now.

I think I’m already hooked on Josh and Donna. That didn’t take long.

I need a scene with Bobby doing dad dance moves in the 118 firehouse. (Seriously, watching Parenthood feels like seeing Bobby in an AU.)

Underrated 9-1-1 moments: The S6 finale. Bobby being everyone’s parent and trying to get them to stay on task and get off their phones so they can hear the weather report for the day.

A worthy idea for original fiction that I want to try writing next year, TBH.

How is "wedding vendors who keep getting booked at the same gigs" not a huge au trope??

There are like 10000 different vendors depending on the wedding so you can pick whatever job you like best, and you can have them bonding over judging the wedding or getting annoyed about how "ugh those flowers totally don't match my table linens, I hate their taste" or just hooking up in the bathroom during the first dance

Plenty of room for assorted friends to be meddling or supportive as needed, plenty of ~atmosphere~ or room for hijinks

I can’t believe the episode where Chim gets Maddie the ring ended on a cliffhanger with the ring in camera view! Come on show, do better. (I know they get married eventually but I wanted the proposal now!)

Also liked Bobby’s deadpan “thanks for telling me” response when Chim told him how he’s often left out of firehouse pranks.

Me last night when I was watching JLH’s Christmas movie (albeit I only saw a few parts) and kept going “oh hey it’s Maddie and Doug” and having a hard time seeing “Doug” as a good guy. I’m sure it will work better when I watch the whole thing (no spoilers please) but I kept getting taken out of the movie.

And yes, I am one of the 911 fans who learned embarrassingly late that they are married in real life.

I’m watching Parenthood and in the last episode I watched, Adam is worried that Haddie’s relationship is Facebook official, and all I could think of is how Adam must be Bobby Nash in his previous life because that scene had complete Bobby dad energy to it. Like. Just wait until he finds out Buddie becomes Facebook official, if Buddie ever gets to be canon, that is.

(Also I’m enjoying Parenthood so far but have only seen four episodes of S1, so no spoilers please and thank you.)

OK I think this may be an unpopular opinion (I read some reviews of the book before I was finished), but Levi is kinda creepy and I don’t know why he’s dating a freshman. “Could you let me touch you?” “Do you want me to show you on a doll?” Cath is coming off as, like, eight years old emotionally, and I feel like Levi would eventually cheat on her or wants to bang a freshman for bragging rights and will dump her eventually. She barely even seems to want him around half the time!

I’ve been reading Fangirl over the last few weeks and I have a love/hate relationship with it. Like the first half of the book had great world building and I found Cath’s struggles in college to be so well documented and vivid, like I was living there with her, but the second half of the book has gone downhill. Why is she majoring in creative writing if she only wants to write fanfic? Not that there is anything wrong with that but then pick a different career path! Don’t tell your professor in fiction writing that you don’t want to do the assignment. Girl is lucky she wasn’t failed. I feel like Cath is kind of relatable and likable but also weirdly entitled.

And at first, I thought it was sweet that Levi supported her fanfic passion, but the fact that she spends so much time reading to him and he’s turned on by it feels infantilizing to the both of them. He even tells her “it makes you easier…” like is this what makes you want to have sex with her?

I’ll probably finish but this book is definitely a trip.

Listening to the Glee version of O Holy Night and having the realization (about 10 years late) that Rachel would be that girl in the church choir who sings that song as a solo at Christmas Eve Mass (or service) every year. (In an AU where she isn’t Jewish, anyway.)

The Buck coma dream episode is probably the best episode of S6 (and I still have seven more episodes of S6 to go, so no spoilers for the rest of them!). The ending where he realizes what he has waiting for him on the other side and how much he’s been able to do for others may be cliche, but I loved it anyway.

And I was happy to hear the sounds of Fix You after how much it’s meant to me from using it as the inspiration of a fanfic in another fandom. Now I get to associate it with two favorite fandoms (9-1-1 and ER).
