Plant propagating techniques are simply a means of increasing the number of new plants from existing plants. This is an affordable way to increase your container plants while helping your existing plants to prosper. #cuttings #dividingplants #division #layering #plantpropagating via Vegetable Gardening

Planting tomatoes in containers is by far the most popular method of enjoying a fresh, sun ripened tomato for most gardeners with limited space. Of all the vegetables grown in home gardens, tomatoes by far lead the list of most planted vegetable (yes, we all know it's technically a fruit, but will we ever get used to putting tomatoes in fruit baskets?). #containergardening #containersgarden #ediblegardening #plantingtomatoes via Vegetable Gardening

Spring is underway and the cheery spring bulbs are in full bloom. As they finish their season, we find we miss them, and quickly replace them with other flowers. The season for bulbs however, is not over yet. It's time to plant some summer blooming bulbs that will give us as much joy as our spring bulb plants. Lilies, dahlias, begonias and many other summer bulbs are wonderful, easy to grow... via Flower Gardening

A Fuchsia standard is an outstanding tree when displayed in your container garden. I should explain that standard is the horticultural term for any non-tree plant that is trained to grow as a tree. As a guideline, it takes at least 18 months to bring a standard to maturity. #containergardening #fuchsiatree via Flower Gardening

Vegetable companion planting has been around for hundreds of years. It has been known for ages that planting different combinations of plants next to each other is mutually beneficial for them. #disease #pestcontrol #plants #Tips via Vegetable Gardening

I chose to write about vegetables, as it’s often seen as a ‘boring’ topic and can often be seen as too difficult, or too time consuming to even attempt to grow any vegetables. Well right from the start, let’s set a few things straight; growing vegetables is easy, quick and you don’t even need much space. Even a plant pot will do, for certain vegetables! #beneficialinsects #bughotel #fruits #growingframes #qualitycompost via Vegetable Gardening

When choosing containers for container gardening there are many things to be considered. Among these are materials, colors and sizes and shapes. Who knew there would be so many decisions to be made when choosing containers for your container garden? When deciding the type of pot to use, consider the frequency of watering required, weight of the container, and cost. #fiberglasscontainers #frostfreegardencontainers #gardencontainers #glasscontainers #metalgardencontainers via Flower Gardening

I have a plan to plant a beautiful flowering vine on the backside of it and decided to use the side as a vertical strawberry garden. After the fabulous gutter find the rest of the materials were pretty simple. Potting soil, strawberries, Styrofoam (I'll explain that in a minute) and a box cutter for easy foam cutting. #growstrawberries #GrowYourOwnGutterStrawberries #strawberries via Fruit Gardening

I used to be terrified at the thought of collecting seeds from my garden crop and saving them for the next year. Without even looking up exactly how this process works, I blew it off as way too hard and way too time consuming. Boy, was I wrong. Go pick a nice ripe tomato and let’s get to work! #howtosaveyourtomatoseeds #TomatoSeeds via Vegetable Gardening

I think Succulent Wreaths are absolutely gorgeous. However my green thumb does NOT come naturally, I have to admit. Although I love love love to be outside gardening, planting, growing, even mowing my lawn, keeping my plants growing is a whole other talent I have yet to master. Over watering, under watering, too much sun, too much shade, you name it. But I try my hardest and never give up. I can’t… it’s one of our family rules! #container via Succulents

I have an addiction to Orchids, they would overrun my house if I wasn't careful. I do have a secret for not going broke with this addiction though. Since most flowering orchids are $20 or more that adds up fast. After any holiday, like Christmas and especially Valentine's Day, I start patrolling Lowes and Home Depot for their discount orchids they put out from the surplus orchids that didn't sell and then lost their flowers. #flowergardening #howto #HowtoRepotanOrchid #orchid #repot via Flower Gardening
