AFI [THE BLOOD ALBUM] + TRACKS

Look at me. Look me in the eyes when I tell you this. You cannot say that AFI sucks live just because Davey Havok has to sing this song an octave lower. He is 41, not 30 when they recorded “Miss Murder”. Davey had vocal reconstructive surgery due to a cyst he developed from years of performing, he shouldn’t be screaming at all.

He shouldn’t even be able to do THIS scream, but look at him go, even though it doesn’t sound healthy. And look how happy he is to actually complete it, because sometimes he can’t. Can’t you see by his expression he doesn’t enjoy it… At all? Look how proud he is, that big “whoo” of completion. Stop being such a prude about his voice. It sounds fine, it just isn’t the same as it was ten years ago. (Furthermore, Hunter, Jade, and Adam sound great, so summing them up all negatively together just because you don’t like the way the singer sounds is pretty rude of you.) That’s all.

Last night was AMAZING! My first time seeing @afireinside couldn't have been any better. From being able to chant "Through Our Bleeding We Are One", witnessing @daveyhavok famous crowd walk and finally seeing his jumps in person, trying to survive the mosh pit and drunken fools, seeing some of my favorite songs from older albums being played and singing along, And just being surrounded by people who share the same love for this band. The Despair Faction show was definitely the best way to experience AFI for the first time. Thank you for coming with me @jonahmen, thank you for giving us a ride to the show @swess238, and thanks to everyone who took these pictures. I wish I could relive last night, it truly was one of the best days/ nights of my life. THANK YOU @afireinside @daveyhavok @tranquilmammoth @adamacarson @jadepuget for such an incredible night and for being my safe heaven. Through your music I've been able to completely accept myself for who I am. This band means so much to me.
