The 20 year old accidentally bonsai'd apricot tree that I finally planted in the ground has truly established himself and has chosen a branch with which he will form his main trunk. He's putting all his energy into this one branch and it's making dozens of tiny offshoot branches and it is rapidly growing taller

I want so to live that I work with my hands and my feeling and my brain. I want a garden, a small house, grass, animals, books, pictures, music. And out of this, the expression of this, I want to be writing (…) But warm, eager, living life — to be rooted in life — to learn, to desire, to feel, to think, to act. That is what I want. And nothing less. That is what I must try for.
Katherine Mansfield, in a diary entry dated 14 October 1922, from Letters and Journals of Katherine Mansfield

“It seems to me sometimes that I do not really exist, but that I merely imagine I exist. The thing that I have the greatest difficulty in believing in, is my own reality. I am constantly getting outside myself, and as I watch myself act I cannot understand how a person who acts is the same as the person who is watching him act, and who wonders in astonishment and doubt how he can be an actor and a watcher at the same moment.”
— André Gide, The Counterfeiters (1925)

[ID: A digital illustration of Tsukishiro Yukito and Kinomoto Toya from Card Captor Sakura. It's night-time and they're sat together on the roof of Yukito's house. Yuki is resting his head against Toya's shoulder and Toya has his arm around Yuki. Yukito is saying "I don't really have any grandparents, do I? I never did. I still miss them." End description.]
"My grandparents are still so in love, they're always going on trips together"
