Even someone as unattached to the world as Robin couldn't handle such a loss. She would have been the same had Qrow or Raven been the ones to die too, regardless of their feelings towards her.

She still loved each of them dearly.

But with Ruby and Yang, it felt different. So much worse. They had still been kids. No child as vibrant as Ruby or confident as Yang should have been taken from the world so early.

"But, I suppose the only thing any of us can do is keep living for you, yes? Make the world a better place than it was and all that sappy nonsense? Well, for you, I think I can try and help out."
