SO BEAUTIFUL *tear*
Kevin W. Day
He and Wymack are never gonna have a normal dad & son relationship, they aren’t going to start acting like that because it would feel forced. And honestly, they don’t need that tension between them. More than a dad, David is his coach. It isn’t until a week before graduation, he realises that from now own, he is not going to see coach everyday, he is not going to bicker around with him about the new foxes, he won’t be able to run to his house if Riko haunts him again.
He is going to lose him. He is going to be left alone again. That’s what Kevin thinks at least. He gets anxious. He realises that for the past years he hasn’t done enough. He hasn’t proved that he cares, that he loves him, that the day he found out about David being his dad, was the best day of his life. He hasn’t call him dad, since the match against the ravens. He is scared. He doesn’t want this.
He needs to show him how much having him in his life means.
So he thinks what to do, he even writes a list with ideas, speeches, something good enough to prove his feelings, just once, just to make sure Coach knows.
He finds a way. The only way he thinks it’s suitable to do it.
Graduation day comes and David, Abby, Bee, the foxes and Thea come to see him graduate. His name is about to get called, but he isn’t nervous, he is ready, he realises, he is ready to hear it, for the first time. For the rest of his life.
“Kevin Wymack Day.”
He stands and takes his diploma, he smiles, but it’s not one of his fake-for-the-press smiles. It’s a genuine smile. He catches with his peripheral vision the foxes reaction, they are shocked, no, surprised, it takes a few moments for them to react but when they do they start cheering and clapping for two minutes before they can stop. But Kevin doesn’t mind, he has his full attention on his father’s face, he stares at him, as if he was challenging him, with “Problem?” Written all over his face. David just smiles and nods, then he lowers his head and for the fucking first time the foxes are going to see something unbelievable, something they would have never expected, their Coach is crying. For Kevin, seeing that feels like happiness, it feels right. It feels like he would always have him.
That is enough. They both understand. They would never have a normal dad & son relationship, so what? They are dad and son. That is enough. They love each other. That is enough. No words needed, just actions.

tot eh person who bothered typing out all of this: wow
adjustments
it’s hard to learn to share a dorm bed full-time, even when it’s been years, even when it was their idea. andrew and neil make it work.
The first night, Neil looks at Andrew, already ensconced in his - their - loft and mutters, “Are you sure?”
“You can sleep on the floor,” Andrew suggests unhelpfully, because three years later Neil still loves to ask stupid questions.
Neil makes a face, but it has the desired effect. He climbs the ladder and takes the side of the mattress nearest to the edge. It’s not the first time they’ve shared a dorm bed by any stretch of the imagination, but it is different knowing there’s nowhere to retreat to.
It’s fine. Retreating is Neil’s trick, and he’s mostly given up on that these days.
“There’s the couch,” Neil murmurs, proving Andrew’s point admirably.
“Go to sleep,” Andrew replies.
It literally should not be possible - there shouldn’t be enough room for it to be possible. On the fourth night in a row Neil wakes shivering lightly and completely uncovered, he has to concede that it is indeed completely possible, and also that it’s becoming an issue.
All he can see of Andrew is his hair, gleaming in the thin light from between the curtains where it’s mussed against the pillow. The rest of him is obscured in the folds of the blankets where he’s wound himself into them.
It’s been unusually cold this week, and Neil knows that Andrew feels it more than he ever lets on. It’s in the extra layers he wears to class, and also in the way he keeps one armed curved close to his body and more still than usual as he tries to soften the ache in it. They’re all subtle ways of showing discomfort, but Neil sees them now without looking. There’s a reason why they’ve stayed off the roof this week.
Apparently Andrew’s subconscious either doesn’t know or doesn’t care that Neil might be the one getting cold when the blankets are wrenched off of him at two in the morning. It’s likely a bad sign that Neil is more fond than irritated as a result.

SPOT. ON.
You know what’s a really good ATLA scene
In Southern Raiders when the gaang swoops down to rescue Zuko and leaves Azula to plummet. And Zuko looks over, seeing his baby sister falling to her death, and is stricken by this sudden complicated emotion of “Did I want this…?” Sure, Azula was there quite literally to kill him. She’s tormented him his whole life, mocked him for being slotted for execution by their own father, hunted him down mercilessly. And yet Zuko spent such a long and complicated time vying for her approval, her affection. Zuko thought he wanted acceptance from Azula and their father both, so much so that he chose to betray Iroh in Crossroads of Destiny. And moreso, Azula has always been perfect. There was never any defeating Azula. There was only escaping from her. And in this moment Zuko is stricken with the realization that Azula can lose, Azula can die, and he mutters out this single, confused “She’s…not going to make it” as he watches her fall. Azula dying never seemed possible. And now it’s in front of him. Undeniable, irrevocable. Does he want this…? Should he let this happen…? Is there anything he can do to try… to maybe……
And then Azula pulls this Sick Fucking Move and rocket launches herself toward the wall and uses her own hair pick to anchor herself to the sheer cliffside and just stares at him gloatingly like “bitch you thought” and all complex emotion fucking vanishes from Zuko’s mind and he returns fully and completely to “jaded inferior sibling mode” and just goes “Of course she did” and stops thinking about it because. You know. Whatever. He coulda done that too he just didn’t try.
Fucking Azula.
That asshole.

“Tell me why, Ben. Why would you want to trick us in the first place?”
Ben stopped pacing. Looking directly at me. “Don’t you know?”
I shook my head, confused.
“To impress you, Victoria Brennan.” His voice cracked. “I wanted you to think I was special.”
Oh, Ben.
He’d started this madness… for me?
I missed the last part of Virals Appreciation Week (I think) so here have a Bluenan edit as an apology

Beautiful ....
Tumblr media
ok but can we talk about this?
· this breaks my heart every time because neil really was thinking he would eventually have to tell andrew he had fallen in love · and that he was trying to accept the heartbroken because he was the fool who forgot where the lines were · but then andrew fought for him · he broke aaron’s promise to keep neil · and then neil knew he didn’t cross the line alone

Things you Can Learn From the Women of the Foxes
Dan
take 0 shits from anyone who might bring her and her team down (e.g. super protective of Neil everytime he gets hurt and alwaya offers her support)
knows when to celebrate and when to be serious
soft when needed but harsh when necessary to push her team forward
doesn’t care the sexist and chauvenistic people who disapprove of her, stays strong and puts her foot down to prove everyone else wrong
despite all still allows men (Matt, Wymack) into her life and doesn’t fully rely on them more so be empowered by their support
Renee
is the darling angel that she is (duh)
positive yet practical about her actions and her words (e.g. Put aside rivalry with Dan to face the Foxes when they frist arrived)
keeps a lookout for all her team mates and respects boundaries (e.g. Didn’t push Neil for the details and why he avoided her)
befriended ANDREW (the kinda monster) and trusted him when others discouraged her to. She didn’t back down from helping Andrew even when she would get hurt physically (sparring)
just an undeniably super duper trustworthy friend that will do everything she can to help them (e.g. Went to go get JEAN from the Edgar Allen though she knew the risks)
keeps her Faith yet respects others who do not share the same views
Allison
helps people that she cares about the most (e.g. checking Seth for his drugs)
knows when she is needed and performs her best even when its been rough for her (e.g. agreeing to be dealer although she was still grieving Seth - I mean playing in a game after your love just died??)
uses her wealth to help the other Foxes eventhough she was already pulled out the inheritance will - not to mention choosinf Exy over her inheritance like WOAH (e.g. agreeing to pay for Neil’s tattoo removal, booking the place at the mountain for spring break, buying and helling Neil with all the makeup after he was beat up)
is honest about herself and her personality (though she knows she ain’t no Renee) - doesn’t deny her wealth and what she feels
Of course we could go on and on about the women of the Foxes but I can’t help but admire each and every one of them to the core. They’re so empowering and beautiful and I give them real props for sticking their ground although they’re the only girls on the team.
Hands down your ultimate GIRL BOSSES
