Yes I have! Everything about the book is insane, it's exactly tailored to suit my taste. He almost killed her...I didn't expect him to be so violent towards his obsession. Did he kill her? Did he kill her and then resurrect her? Would Nola notice? I want to see Nola become suicidal, try to make good on her promise she made when she first arrived there, only to discover that she cannot escape Teldaru even in death. Try to kill herself and every time she wakes up in a bed, Teldaru is sitting at her bedside and smiling.
I'm so happy they ended up having sex (is it non-con or is it dub-con. how consensual can sex with your quasi captor be when you've been attracted to him since you were thirteen and he groomed you after murdering your mentor and becoming your guardian and teacher?), it was surprising because I've read a review that claimed the book didn't contain sex scenes. At the same time it was not surprising because it was something I felt like that had to happen when they both cannibalized Selera's future together. In the end the black magic ritual was more intimate than the sex. But both the ritual and the sex belonged together in a way. His lust for Nola really did grow in direct proportion to her powers. I'm still upset the author decided to do a timeskip from 13 to 19 years. They cut out an important period of Nola's life that showed how she settled in the court life and matured. I also would have liked to see how Teldaru concealed his lust for Nola in front of others and watch how it would sometimes still slip out, making it obvious to everyone else that she was special to him but not Nola who was used by this kind of behaviour by now. I wanted to see more of her little rebellions too. This book should have been a trilogy.
About King Haldrian and Zemiya...I would have liked it if Teldaru did have a selected few he had a soft spot for even if he thought they were naive and used them as tools and pawns. Can a villain not have a favourite pawn? Can he not have loved ones? Perhaps it's just me reacting sensitive to "Teldaru and Haldrian grew up like brothers" line, knowing he wants to usurp Haldrian. Ruling the world is so cliche, I like Teldaru better as the mastermind in Haldrian's shadows who is pulling the strings and giving the nobles the illusion of power.
Jewel! Have you finished part two yet? Have you read chapter 31? We need to talk about chapter 31!

People will be like I love Greek mythology but I hate everything that involves incest, infidelity, violence, slavery, misogyny, undeserved suffering, questionable relationships, ethically dubious heroes and gods, and morality that is foreign to me.

Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) ā€œEchoā€ (1874) Oil on canvas Academicism Located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, New York, United States
In Greek mythology, Echo was a nymph who resided on Mount Cithaeron where Zeus loved to visit and consort with the other nymphs. Zeusā€™ wife, Hera, became suspicious and came down from Mount Olympus in an attempt to catch Zeus with the nymphs. Echo, in trying to protect Zeus (as he had ordered her to do), faced Heraā€™s wrath, with Hera cursing her to only speak the last words spoken to her. As a result, when Echo met the hunter Narcissus and fell in love with him, she was unable to tell him how she felt and could only watch as he fell in love with himself.

what I find really interesting about Zemiya and Teldaru besides Teldaru falling in love with a girl around his own age and her being a princess of the "enemy" nation that he wants to conquer, is that Teldaru felt a pull towards the sister who was not an Otherseer. I had expected him to have been romantically involved with the one who had introduced him to blood-seeing. All the other girls he had been involved with were seers or victims that he used for blood-seeing and in his studies of necromancy.

Yes, he loves creeping on underage girls. There are implications about the brothel girls. Another of his students has a crush on him. The room he gives Nola used to belong to Chenn.

I don't know why he waited. She's in the age range of girls he likes to target, it's glaring obvious how obsessed he is with her and now he has finally power over her. Really, the only explanation I can come up with is that the author couldn't do something that dark if they wished their book would be published. Perhaps he wants his victory over Zemiya and Nola to happen both at the same time? His desire for Nola is linked to her powers. Every time he moved closer to his goal, his and Nola's relationship progressed. Nola's seduction by the dark arts and corruption of morals goes hand in hand with his grooming of her. When he hit a wall in his research his relationship to Nola also halted.
Also, I do think itā€™s interesting that Teldaru waits until the curse is complete for him to be obvious about his desire for Orla (for obvious reasons) but I think the creepiest thing is not how he touches her and sleeps beside her (which is creepy and weird but heā€™s the weird creepy blond man) but that he knows how to do her hair and does it so easily and quickly. Like heā€™s practiced and had experienceā€¦

It feels like Lleu is trapped within "the winter prince" story despite physically leaving Camlan. You can take the victim out from their hell but their hell can't leave them kind of situation.
I love notenderhands take that Lleu would just die if he crossed the borders of Camelan.
