Hello? Anybody there?
Hi! It’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. What’s good? What did I miss? Current obsession: NFTs (non-fungible tokens). Who else is excited about the massive potential of this fast-growing trend? I see a bright future for NFTs! Also, I am really stoked about blockchain technology, in general, and can’t wait to see where it all leads. The mass adoption of blockchain technology will enhance so many of our outdated/outmoded processes. Really amped about it! Let’s hope it will succeed in being a force for the greater good! :D

“Tyrants always fear art because tyrants want to mystify while art tends to clarify. The good artist is a vehicle of truth.”
— Iris Murdoch – one of the most lucid, luminous, and underappreciated minds of the past century, born 100 years ago today – on language as a vehicle of truth and art as a force of resistance to tyranny.

Feeling Grateful
You only have right now, this moment. Be here, be fully present. Don’t take the days or anything for granted. Had a bit of a health scare recently, but thankfully turned out to be nothing major (phew!), but the days leading up to finding out the test results were extremely excruciating and torturous. My mind was in hyper overdrive, and I was thinking about worst case scenarios. It was definitely quite an experience, one which gave me a new and better perspective on things. It was definitely a wake-up call and helped me realize so much -- very good learning. Seriously, carpe diem because life is fleeting and fickle. <3

“Bad Asian”
Inspired by the “Bad Asian” segment featured on the Asian Enough podcast, which is now more aptly called, the “My Asian Confessions” segment.
To those of you who’ve watched the WongFu short series, Yappie, you’ll know that there’s an episode about being a “bad Asian.” Of course, the term was just used in a light, joking manner... because Phil’s character, Andrew, considers himself a “bad Asian” because he confesses that he doesnt like dim sum bwahahahaha!!! Wow, now if only that’s the only reason why I consider myself a bad Asian hah! I gotta admit, I am most definitely a bad Asian, and in in the most serious and real way. For one, I have no regard for filial piety. I loathe all those expectations that are hugely a part of Asian culture... (to be continued).

CRA was 🔥👍
Crazy Rich Asians was one of the biggest highlights of my weekend — such a fun and heartfelt movie! I felt so many emotions throughout the whole thing. I didn’t realize how much it would affect me until I was in the midst of watching it. It’s true what they say, representation matters, and I felt it firsthand this Saturday when we watched the film on the big screen! Sooo many feels!!! I am still overjoyed and stoked from the positive energy and buzz of it all! 😭🤗

Motivation!
How do y’all get motivated and STAY motivated? What’s your key to maintaining that motivation? Penny for everyone’s thoughts! :)
Proud to say that I’ve recently found my motivation again, after a REALLY long hiatus! It all started at the beginning of this month (July 2018), when I was all amped up and determined to seriously adhere to the whole intermittent fasting (IF) thing. I had tried it out for a couple weeks last December, but you honestly can’t feel/notice any results from such a short amount of time... and it was the holidays, so it’s hard to stick with it, thus I stopped soon after.
Then earlier this month, I was all gung-ho about IF again, spurred on by the desire to be able to comfortably don the form-fitting outfit I’m going to have to wear for an upcoming wedding in August. This time, in addition to sticking to the eating schedule, I also made more of an effort to consume healthier foods during my 8-hour eating window, versus just eating any kine (well, for the most part anyway... not gonna lie, weekends are a little more lax lol!).
Surprisingly, I managed to stay on this IF regimen for pretty much the entire month of July, and I actually noticed a real difference in the way I felt and looked. Although, weight loss wasn’t the goal of this, I did shed a few pounds (I honestly just wanna lean up and lose FAT!). Also, I finally experienced the better focus and mental clarity that others, who’ve been doing IF a while, have mentioned — I seriously felt more productive and revved up during those last few morning hours prior to breaking my fast!
Also, this time around, I incorporated working out in conjunction with the IF program. I actually made it a point to work out at least 25-30 minutes a day, three days a week, and that certainly went hand-in-hand with my IF and helped me to achieve results that much faster! (Thank you to Shaun T’s T-25 program and Tania the modifier bwahahaha!)
As July is coming to an end, I am happy to say that I’ve successfully stuck it out beyond just the two weeks this time and hopefully I can keep up this momentum!! For anyone who’s curious about IF, it works! If I (as someone who loves her food) can do it, y’all can too! Alright... now if I can bring myself to hit the gym later...

Gary Vee is onto something here... haha!! Great little article to remind us to be grateful, empathetic, and positive! It’s all about shifting that mindset and attitude. What a time to be alive! I sometimes joke that I’m living in the wrong era, because I complain about the negative impacts of all this technology blah blah, but there are way more positives to it than there are bad, and I just have to seek it out! I have to admit and agree w/ Gary here — I’m/we’re living in a time where ANYthing is possible, and there are ENDLESS possibilities thanks to the advances in technology! But yes, as with pretty much everything, it all begins with our attitude. Doesn’t matter what it is we’re trying to do/accomplish, as long as we keep a good attitude about it, things will turn out alright :)

A most beautifully written note a son wrote to his father inside of this really badass vintage book... June 21, 1964 Dear Dad, If we all knew the things which we come to know daily there would be no joy of learning. As I have learned of my learning I have had great joy — as I have watched your learning I have had great joy. Between these covers are the learnings of one who came before us, and was a giant among men — May you gain both learning and pleasure from the wisdom herein. One more great pleasure I had was when I came to know of the understanding you have taught me, the patience you have shown me, & the Love you have given me. May I be a reward unto you, David

Ooo... I dig this! I’ve never seen any of his non-figurative works before, so this is very cool. Egon Shiele certainly had quite a distinct style!
