#watch me erase a show I actually like so I can recreate it myself#serious answer though would probably be Voltron Legendary Defender#simply because the fandom was extremely toxic the last time I checked and the discourse kept leaking into places I actually go to#a more serious answer would be none because I don't support censorship#even if a show or its fandom is ass I still want it to exist if only so we can all judge it#and because even crappy things can be enjoyed if you know not to take them seriously

Tutorial on drawing characters/OCs who have some sort of facial paralysis. It doesn't cover all possible variants because I was using mirror as my main reference lawl
Keep in mind that this is an introductory drawing tutorial and has some generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People 👍
Consider supporting me on ko-fi if you find this to be helpful.
#drawing resources#drawing tips#disability#paralysis#hey a canon character that I draw pretty often has that fuckass scar#and I like to portray him in my fanon as having nerve damage and eyesight issues that come with the trauma#canon does none of this but that's what fans are for#to correctly represent a character's implied disability when the original design was likely just meant to look cool and didn't imply shit#it's about Indy Jaws btw

Muted his palette a little
The forever curse of colours looking better on the tablet than on the actual screen It was supposed to be darker Anyway, Tatsuno Sanrio in his youth, pre-investigator career (and pre-baby). Your scary local delinquent who is actually a decent guy, he just doesn't trust cops (becomes one a couple of years down the line)

Things they make you draw at art courses (human figures) versus things you actually want to draw (sexy fish men)
Tatsuno used to be a delinquent in his youth, before joining the police force in his early twenties because he desperately needed at least one good cop to exist anywhere at all. He still has his tattoos.
That's my headcanon.

This is why archiving and spreading media without input from corporations is so important. Yes, supporting the works you love monetarily is also important, but when said works become virtually unavailable via legal means, what else can you do? You can still play the games, watch the anime and read the manga, you just have to look into emulation and fan translations. That's how you keep stories alive.
Have any of you thought of how scary it is for stories to be forgotten I've thought of that with Yo-kai watch because Yo-kai watch is slowly disappearing from the west and the games that are still in the west are either too hard to find or too expensive and it's a bit scary to think about because I've seen a store have the games in a glass case with labels that show the price and it was high. I hope that when I'm an adult the games will still be findable at least still in Japan or they might make a comeback since level 5 is working on a game called holy horror mansion that is similar to Yo-kai watch but not a direct sequel.

Thank you for featuring my reply!
When it comes to research, my opinion is that it's always great when it's there, but sometimes, the writing or art alone can convey what is necessary for the scene, and making it extra realistic is not a must at all. Artistic liberty is a thing for a reason, and missing something when researching is perfectly normal.
Someone might nitpick an anime for featuring a monogamous couple of (non-anthropomorphic) great white sharks caring for two pups who should be old enough to be independent by that point, but, first of all, this has no bearing on the plot, and second of all, that's more of a tiny insignificant nitpick and not a serious criticism of an anime that isn't even really about sharks (a huge loss on their part, more shows should be specifically about sharks).
It can be fun to nitpick things like writing or specific real life facts the plot references, but it should never take the form of harsh criticism. Angry Youtube critics who exaggerated their negative reactions for comedic effect have inadvertently raised an entire generation who believes that this is how you should review art, and that absolutely sucks. We were supposed to laugh at the Nostalgia Critic, not become him.
It's okay if the writer uses more than one word to describe a single character. It's okay if there is a made up word here and there. It's okay if the writer didn't know that crocodiles weren't introduced to Japan until way after the Meiji restoration, and that the word for "crocodile", "wani", used to refer exclusively to sea monsters and should have been used as such by the early Tokugawa era characters.
Nitpicking such small details and pretending that they are serious writing flaws is asshole critic behaviour and should not discourage people from making art.
Devastating to have more evidence that done IS better than perfect
