a sad character analysis for my ive

ive, for all intent and purpose, qualifies as the perfect run for me. they've got a job and a constant supply of money, robin's safe, the orphans are fine, he's pretty much living life as positively as one can in doltown.

and to tell you the truth, this is a bad end for him. heavy emphasis on the parenting his mother did to him, forcing him to be this perfect good boy. though he has reconciled with understanding it is simply unattainable in reality, years of emulating a teaching doesn't just disappear out of nowhere.

no, he's not perfect because of his mother's teachings anymore. he's way past that. he's perfect because of the masks he wears now.

the perfect hero, both for robin and the orphans. the perfect sugar baby for avery.

any real connections made will never stay as it once was. because ive learns — he's gotta to survive, you know? and once learning is done, then comes perfecting. and soon, the mask will be finished carving and designing, all that's left to do is wear it on like every other ones he did.

he tries to fight back against whitney, and refuse kylar's advances, but if a rock can be worn down by the waves through time, so too will ive's refusal to finish the mask meant for them.

isaac being thrust into the dol setting WOULD be possible i think, and wouldn't be too much of a deviation from his previous lore. this is the only finished art of him i have atm btw! threw together a little fun page with it :> some thoughts below:

firstly, the accent would make him stand out. he's american and sounds like it. its a bit harder to pin down where he's from in the us tho, since he refrains from using too much regional dialect. (i vc him sounding like mr nightmind nick nocturne hehe :3c)

a freelance journalist, he'd be interested in the sordid rumors circulating about doltown. being as the pc is a very active person, i think he'd probably run into them a few times and eventually put together that they're on the up & up and proposition them to give him insider info about whatever fucked up shit they find out along their various jobs — by that time of this meeting, he'd be in the know about the pc's money situation & make sure to pay them for their info.

if the player takes his deal, the pc could then either give him actual info or fake info: he will figure out youre lying - at least when it comes to most things! he doesn't wholly believe in the supernatural, so if you were truthful about like, the IW or something, he'd go along with it and pay you but he doesn't believe you. outlandish claims will net you less pay too..!

he doesn't start off as a LI, nor somebody who the pc can sleep with. you can make a pass at him! he'll play along for the most part, but he'll always decline to actually get physical with you.

calling for help at night outside around town has a low chance of getting isaac's attention. this is where you see a slip in his personable, charming all-american boy mask; the pc will note that after scaring their attackers off, isaac seems a lot more closed off and brusque when checking on the pc before leaving.

the killing would most definitely start after the first time he rescued the pc. important to note: he isn't killing for the pc specifically, there is no yandere trope happening there! it would definitely cause a buzz around the town, as it would be grizzly and something of a statement piece.

if you noticed the ghosties in the bg behind his art, that was on purpose lol! isaac is specifically a GF oc — i dont really think this would change. i pull a little from the movies but lean pretty heavy in dbd's version for inspo! ie — isaac is the original, there were movies based off his killings, copycats cropped up now and then, he shares the same 'freelance journalist' thing as danny (and the fake names, isaac isnt his actual name). for a dol setting, i think id just mesh what i already have in that 1. He is the og Ghostface 2. There are movies based on his killings & copycats came from it.

thinking on how he'd of stumbled into doltown; i'm thinkiiing, there was too much heat in the states, as the cops began to get closer to his trail, so he dipped. he's legitimately a journalist by day, so he probably took an overseas job that involved looking into the "whacky zany town of dol!" — unfortunately for everyone in town, he's pretty damn good at his job & whatever dumb thing they'd of wanted him to actually write about, he'd of steered immediately towards the darker rumors of the town.

as for kissing him? mmm it would be poooossible... but it would probably be a volatile slow burn haha. his relationship with sex isnt good, so a pc that tried to jump his bones would get a big fat sims tier --🧍‍♂️negative interaction. he may eventually give in if pushed hard enough, but its more of a hatesex thing at that point — which some pcs may be gunning for! more power to em haha. i think you could also get more of a "good route" going but its like, ""good"" only by comparison of the alternative. :") he's still a slasher! and even if he were a LI with full love for you, that wouldn't save you from his impulses or ideations. tbh, he'd probably wana kill you more if he "loved" you!

Oliver PC

omg im finally making a pc of my own??? shocking i know

HIII it's oliver!!! they have a grunge/gothic-inspired streetwear style. they like elements of punk, too. if they had a phone, they'd definitely be an e-boy lmao. i mean, their CURRENT attire is e-boy coded, even

they're AMAB and the way i picture it, they try to seem... cooler than they actually are. putting up an act, of sorts, which is contributed by their choice of style. they want to seem more confident and intimidating than they actually are, and 9 times out of 10 fail miserably. (on the times they succeed, it's on someone else's behalf).

they have whitney and kylar as LIs-- kylar was the person they reached out to and actually wanted to date, whitney was. whitney. whitney basically wouldn't take "no" as an answer. in the run, whitney is sort of a guilty pleasure of sorts for oliver. they're sorta used to trying to repress certain sides of themselves, and whitney pulls those sides out unapologetically in a way that they just REALLY enjoy.

they LIKE being feminized and wearing girly clothes. they have a humiliation kink and enjoy the fucked up way whitney treats them. but they can't comfortably indulge in these desires! it's been treated as "wrong" and "odd" for so long that, under normal circumstances, they never would willingly do these things. but whitney offers them an out. a way to indulge in these things without guilt. the comfort of letting go of control. they don't have to worry about it, bc whitney does it for them. tl;dr whitney forces them into things they secretly want, which gives them an excuse to indulge without the weight of shame

now, to get into the kylar dynamic more. kylar is vulnerable (they are heavily bullied), and oliver is kinda drawn to that bc it gives them a sense of purpose. despite their own struggles, kylar is someone oliver can actively help-- by stepping in when they're being bullied, by being there when no one else is. now wait, you might say! if it's a matter of someone being vulnerable and helping, isn't robin a good choice, too? well, gameplay-wise, oliver hasn't found out about robin yet, but... even if oliver did, it wouldn't really be the same. bc... well. robin is well-liked. robin is going thru traumatic shit, sure, but it's the sense of isolation/being "other" that oliver connects with when it comes to kylar. oliver might not be as openly ostracized as kylar, but they still feel like they don't truly fit in anywhere, like they have to perform a version of themselves to be accepted. and so kylar's ostracization is just more personal to them for that reason. (and yeah, oliver's reputation in school is them being seen as "odd" so. oofers).

it's also just. the single-mindedness of kylar's attention just feels really good to oliver. to be so wanted, to be so needed, to be so loved. they're not used to that type of attention, that possessiveness, and where others might find it strange, oliver revels in it. they like to be "owned," so kylar's possessiveness is actually SUPER attractive

also: while they usually go by he/him, they genuinely don't mind any pronouns. they're arguably gender fluid and if they had a tumblr account, they'd probably like the concept of neopronouns!!!!

overall, oliver is about conflicting desires

✔️ Wants to be seen as tough but isn’t. ✔️ Wants to be in control but craves submission. ✔️ Wants to be accepted but fears authenticity. ✔️ Wants to resist Whitney but loves what Whitney does to them. ✔️ Wants to protect Kylar but also wants to be kept by them.

they struggle between who they want to be, who they think they should be, and who they actually are. i love that for them

eris at the beginning of the game & eris' "what if post game" look.

student eris joined the temple for the money. he's not blind to their failings & with time he just learned more and more — he's not as loyal to the temple as a monolith as he is to certain people there.

older eris more or less becomes the temple's (or, more accurately, jordan's) vengeful angel — his title of "the defiant" changes to "the furiae, the erinyes, virgo's fury". a figure thats respected in town and feared in the underworld.

if we're being so for real?? he's not doing so hot the older he gets haha. under the veneer of calm he's this 🤏 close to snapping somebody's neck. id like to think most people learn to not fuck with him, but there will always be those that try!! unfortunately for them he's not just "scrappy" anymore. people are lucky the temple has enough reign over him that he wouldn't kill anybody, but damn if he isn't sending ppl to the hospital lol!

i genuinely did not think i would manage to gain such a following with BLYTHE of all people. initially was afraid of posting and making him in general bc!!! he is a power fantasy to me!!! someone strong enough to push back against the cruel world. someone who intertwines his capacity for violence with love. but he is also a tragedy, a boy born from the worst circumstances, a boy taught the most twisted and obsessive form of love, a boy who had to grow up too fast because he was afraid that he would be lacking otherwise. a boy who cannot exist without the value placed by another person.

.....which is to say while i definitely had Horny Intentions, i was afraid that this aspect of the character might not be as appealing u_u i love fleshing out characters to explain everything about themselves. to make me AND other people go ohhh!! that makes so much sense!!! thats the kind of interaction i crave!!

but boy howdy you all proved me wrong. not only i bounced back and forth with so many people, i discovered more aspects about blythe i wouldn't have otherwise thought about!!! and that makes me so happy!!! my boy!!! look how far we've come together!!!
