Text || Lexie and Aly
Aly: Operation "yay Lexie and Aly are having babies and Aly and Evan got a new house lets all have a gathering in it" is a go!
Lexie: You got the house! Congrats!
Aly: Thanks! We're excited! By the way, have you met Kim? Derek's niece?
Lexie: Oh yeah, I met her already. She seems like such a sweet girl. Why? Have you met her?
Aly: Yea, I just recently did. And no reason, it's just kinda weird haha, I don't know.

Text || Meredith and Aly
Aly: So I guess you weren’t exaggerating when you said Derek’s family just keeps multiplying in Seattle. I just met his niece, Kim.
Meredith: I am never exaggerating when it comes to them. They're literally popping out. Kim is nice, but there is just a limit to what the woman can take.
Aly: Well, I wouldn't go with never...I met her, she's nice. It's just crazy how you're technically her aunt, and I'm your cousin, and her and I are close in age, and we're both interns.

"Alright," She smirks. "We're not having sex until after I'm not pregnant anymore. Time out." Aly grins, kidding since her hormones will probably make her rip his clothes off the next day. "I like photos. They're happiness, frozen in time. They're memories." She giggles, shaking her head, reaching up to kiss him. "You could go with him. Get another degree."
"I know you do, and I know you will," Alyssa nods, "But sometimes you just can't." She pouts, "You wouldn't leave me, and over my dead body will you take my baby. Besides, what if one day he comes up to you and says 'daddy, I want to be a princess for Halloween?'" She asks with a raise of her eyebrow. "I was thinking jungle themed, anyways."
Surprise! || Evan and Alyssa
“Oh I’m so scared,” he said with a laugh. “I’d like to see you try and put my in time out.” He nods when she says that someone’s going to have to come through and take the frames down, “You have way to many for your own good,” he said shaking his head slightly. There’s were to many to even try to count in that house, and now that they were getting a larger house, he could only imagine how many she’d have then. “You’d have to go back to college with him,” he said sticking his tongue out at her. “There’s no way he’d be able to go on his own.”
“I’ll try to control everything,” he said with a nod. “I like to be in control.” He shook his head, “If you give our son a pink princess room, then me and him are going to run away from this estrogen filled house.”

Giving him a look, Aly rolls her eyes. "I was quoting you, and you know it. Don't mess with me or I'll put you in time out," She threatens. "I think we'll have to hire someone to go through this house and take down all the picture frames." She muses. "I kind of have a problem, I'm addicted." It was true, many rooms had photo collage frames. Her room, the living room, the hallways. Laughing, she nods, "That's true. He'll come out and we'll have to enroll him in college straight away."
She looks at him silently as he speaks, her fingers combing through his hair absently. "I know you will, but sometimes you can't control everything," She whispers. Grinning, she shrugs. "Alright. Pink princess coming right up!"
Surprise! || Evan and Alyssa
“Oh, so it’s not okay for me to say but you can?” He asked with a smirk as she says she doesn’t want Jordan to repeat it. He noticed her call Jordan their daughter, he also saw the look on her face afterwards. He didn’t want to cause her anymore pain so he didn’t bring it up. “We willhave a genius baby, I mean, look at his parents?” He said with a laugh and a wink.
“We will be happy Alyssa, I promise. I promised you we’d get this house, and we did. I promised you we’d have a little boy, and we are.” He laughed softly. “Anything I promise you, I will make sure it happens. I’m not going to let you get your hopes up and then let them be crushed.” He kissed her cheek gently and nodded. “You’ve got full rein over the nursery…just don’t make it girly. It’s a boy’s nursery, not a girls and that’s all you’ve had experience with.” He laughed softly.

Well you can get addicted to it so you could overdose somehow, probably.
Tumblr media
Wow, we really are sort of family! Yea, I do. Well, two and a half, technically. One's twelve, one's a little over a year, and I'm 19 weeks pregnant.
Coffee..
I wonder if one can overdose caffeine. So far I’ve been guzzling it down and yet somehow I still wind up tired.
Tumblr media
Yes, he’s practically my uncle as well. That’s great though! - Wait hold up, you said you had two kids?

I have a high caffeine tolerance. I've got two kids and I went through college and med school as a mom.
Tumblr media
Jeez, Meredith wasn't kidding, you Shepherds do keep popping up! Yup, really...technically Meredith's step cousin, but we're really close. You probably know Mark Sloan, right? His wife, Lexie, is my cousin too.
Coffee..
Tumblr media
Yup, they would be my uncle and aunt - oh really? So we’re practically family then!

That is true.
Tumblr media
It's nice to meet you, too! Shepherd, huh? Any relation to Derek and Amelia? Derek's wife is my cousin.
Coffee..
And yet to compare how much coffee I drank in med school to this almost makes the difference hilarious.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, Kim Shepherd. It’s nice to meet you Alyssa..and your little guy here as well.

That was the first thing my adviser in med school told me. Coffee is liquid heaven.
Tumblr media
I'm Alyssa Hyland, by the way, I'm an intern...hopefully soon to be resident. You are, too, right?
Coffee..
I never knew I’d be best friends with a beverage.

Alyssa was lost in through when Jo suddenly appears, pulling her off to the car. "Jeez, slow down. I'm the size of a small car, I need time," She complains. "Here, you drive, I'm too pregnant." She complains. She was only nineteen weeks, almost half way there, and she was already uncomfortable. As they pull away, Alyssa notices Jo looking back at the house in the rear view. "It's weird, isn't it?" She asks softly. "To be leaving. It's only been a little over a year but...it's just weird to be leaving it." She sighs. "Even though I'm still going to own it. You know anyone who's looking for a house?" She inquires, suddenly getting an idea. "Hey, Braeden said he wanted to get out of his apartment and get a more permanent place last time he was over...you think he'd be interested?" It made sense. She knew Braeden, he was a good guy. And, inevitably (hopefully) Jo would move in with him eventually, giving her reason to go to the house, be able to see it.
"Turn left up here," She murmurs, "Then straight for a while. Are you excited to see the house? It's so gorgeous, it's perfect. The painters started yesterday, they're not working today. Second coats will be tomorrow. You still like the color you chose, right?" she asks, rubbing her belly as the baby kicked. "Hey, feel this," she says as Jo stops at a red light. She grabs her person's hand, placing it on her stomach where he was kicking, and smiles up at Jo. It was amazing, feeling a baby kick even from the outside.
Moving Forward || Jo and Alyssa
She’d been upstairs getting dressed when Aly had called. She’d gotten in late last night, and as a result had slept through until the afternoon. Luckily, she was nearly ready. She pulled on a pair of boots and hurried down the stairs. Jordan was with her grandmother, Brooke was at school, and for the first time in weeks they had a day off together. She’d been anxious to see the new house in person rather than through pictures Evan had taken, so that was on the agenda for today, as well as hitting the mall on their way home if time allowed. She wandered into the kitchen, but Aly was nowhere in sight, and so she moved on to check the living room. There she stood, but Jo decided to give her a couple minutes to collect herself before she announced her presence. Even from a short distance, you could tell she was pregnant, and if the bump didn’t give it away immediately, you’d realise when Aly went from logical to bat shit crazy in ten seconds flat. Another side effect of the hormones was her newfound ability to cry over anything and everything, which made things extremely awkward when you were Jo and had a near-phobia of tears. Of course, she’d calm down quite quickly, and anyone who knew her well knew enough not to take any outburts too seriously.
“I’m ready!” she announced, taking Alyssa by the arm and leading her into the car. She wasn’t sure how long exactly it would take to get from here to the house, but she didn’t want to waste any time. Still, her impatience to see the new house did not stop her from staring back at the old one as the car pulled away. It was the only place she’d called home since she was ten, and almost every good memory she had from that age onwards had been made there. Bringing Braeden there for the first time, Brooke’s birthday party, Aly’s pregnancy. It would be weird to say goodbye, but she didn’t think it would be difficult. After all, leaving was one thing she was good at.

"It was," Aly nods, "But it was worth it. I'm sure it wasn't as tough as things on your side," She reasons. "Thank you," She smiles softly at her apologies. "It was really hard. I loved him more than anything, besides my children of course. It was really hard. But I know he'd want us to move forward. So we have to. What other choice is there?"
She smiles widely, nodding. "I never thought things with Evan would come to this, but I'm happy." Aly straightens up, sipping her coffee. "Alright, let's go. I can do this, bring it on!"
Early Study Sesh | Teddy and Alyssa
Teddy smiled as Alyssa tells of her love for her husband.  ”Wow an army wife must be tough, I never really knew of the other side but I’ve heard stories.”  And boy had she ever.  Owen had a fiance who was back in the states when they were oversees and she saw the strain there was and the sadness.  Teddy’s smile suddenly faded when Alyssa told her that her husband passed.  She tried to get emotional, as that connected her to her lost friends.  ”I’m so sorry Alyssa.  It’s very hard to loose a husband, and it must be even harder when there are kids involved.”  Teddy knew the pain of loosing a husband, as she had lost Henry a few years back.  She was glad though that Alyssa was able to move forward with her life.
“Well, let’s look forward to the future, as it seems like you are doing with the help of Evan, which is really good.”  Teddy smiled reassuringly.  ”Okay, well here are the flashcards.  One side is a part and the other is its function.  Let’s get through these and then we can move onto the fun stuff.”
