            A HARRY POTTER AU VERSE                             ————— open to all canon characters, ocs and other fandoms.

Set in the year 1997, the trio have freshly started their 7th and final year at Hogwarts and even with their N.E.W.T.s on the horizon, no one seems to be able to wipe away the irrevocable fear of the oncoming war. 

Despite this, normalcy is highly installed within school grounds — lessons continue as normal, first years are sorted into houses, and the feasts are as prodigious as usual, with Dumbledore directing his speeches as eloquently.

Rivalries are being fuelled between houses and the Hogwarts’ rumour mill takes no prisoners in its turbulent tides, especially with hormones rising and drunken outings to Hogsmeade becoming more frequent — (being of age truly does have its benefits). Though keep in mind, Professor McGonagall would like you all to know that there will be no such Tom Foolery during the school week.

Tensions are high and suspicions are easily arisen —- the poor serpents especially are paying the price for their notorious ancestors —- where do your loyalties lie? 

                PS - be careful of foul play on the Quidditch pitch,                                  that is, if you get into a team.

Due to the AU nature of this verse, reminder that everything canon that happened in the sixth book is thus ignored — Dumbledore has yet to find a lead on the Horcruxes and Draco has not been set his task. Rather, Dumbledore was more focussed on preparing himself and Harry for the war to come and Voldemort has been lying low. Reinstating: Sixth year was just a normal school year for the trio, without disturbances from the Death Eaters or Lord Voldemort, nor ending in Albus Dumbledore’s demise and the Ministry taking over the school.

There will be a first-come-first-serve basis with canon characters, though OCs and characters from other fandoms with HP verses are welcome at any time! (Mind, it would be very helpful to make your House, Blood Status and alignment in the War (Death Eaters or Hogwarts) known in a private message to me or something)

Just shoot me a message if you’d like to be a part of this verse, and follow the tag, ‘v:newts’ when it’s up and running. Note, there will most likely be NSFW content in this verse as teenagers tend to be horny creatures, plus there could be some dark references to torture, war etc.
