God she was so cute. Sage could barely handle it. She felt like she was going to melt into a puddle.
It took her a moment to regain her normal confidence, but when she did she returned the girl’s smile, “It’s good to see you, too.” The girl was too sweet. As if Sage could get a better gig than being a brewista. She was fine with the job, of course, but with her criminal record it wasn’t like she had a whole lot of choices.
“Sure, I can do that. They really are.”
She grabbed her nearest coworker, “My coworker here will finish ringing you up, I’ll get you your drink.” She couldn’t let her meeting with Alisa be that short, she’d explain to her coworker later.
Luckily the lemonade was just a matter of pouring the juice they’d pre made that morning. She quickly made Alisa’s drink, grabbed the iced coffee she’d made herself earlier and ran out from behind the the counter and waited for Alisa at the pick up area.
She probably looked so desperate but she didn’t care in the slightest.
Alisa is still beaming even after casual conversation, waiting patiently as Sage disappears into the kitchen with her hands clasped behind her back. Was Sage getting it for her herself? That was so nice! It makes her feel a little special, even if she knows she’s just doing her job.
Upon getting her lemonade, she’s a little surprised to see Sage holding a drink of her own, curious as to whether she was going to be kept company for a little while. If she would, it’d make her feel a little less lonely, that’s for certain.
“Are you joining me? That’s so nice of you!”
Alisa is quickly reaching out to take Sage’s hand in the one not clasping her drink already, taking a sip from the straw with an appreciative “mmm”. Lemonade and friends, could it get any better than this?
