It didn’t make sense that one body could hold another soul, carry them both so effortlessly. But when Marc reached for her hand as Steven’s voice called out her name, everything made perfect sense.

It didn’t matter if to the outside world this seemed like drunken mistake or new age heresy, because as Marc held her tightly and Steven peeked through with his cute little snores, she knew she could never be without either one of them again.

I’m finally making my way through all the hyped up booktok novels I bought every time I was sad and never actually read. Finished Song of Achilles a while back, imo it only got good towards the end. Just finished Ace of Spades and loved it, although you can tell or at least suspect the author wanted a show out of it. Now I’m reading Red White and Royal Blue in addition to The Midnight Library. Not liking the first one so much, but I’ve hardly made a dent in it just yet. The Midnight Library is a really awesome concept to me but so far the story itself is a little sub par, but I’m not finished yet so that might change.

Bruno would plan Valentine’s Day months ahead, I’m talking maybe even September. He’s take special care to plan a home made gift for his love, crafting multiple prototypes until he got it just right. He would alter and rearrange the perfect playlist, one that would capture the memories of the past year in the most intimidate way. He would take care to remember every want and whisper from his partner, memorising each word, their stories and rambles his Holy Book. After years as a ghost and a shadow, he would devote his being to ensuring his love would always feel significant, loved, wanted.

Found it to be a cop out that they said the myth of Icarus was made by Sprite when she was bored and then at the ended of the movie he literally flew to the sun… I don’t know why I just feel like they could have done something better with that concept. Also laser eyes just seem like a boring power in comparison to the others, in my opinion. Like the guy that flies and shoots lasers from his eyes is supposed to be seen as the best Eternal when there’s literally someone who can control all of mankind with his mind and someone who has the intelligence and innovation to advance technology beyond anyone’s wildest dreams? Were we supposed to think the one who could literally manipulate physics is less interesting than microwave eyes?

I’m surprised Phastos wasn’t changed to be human so he could grow old with his husband and watch his son grow up instead of having to watch them both die, makes more sense to me. But then again I can hold a grudge for a long time so if someone tried to kill me I wouldn’t be feeling particularly generous towards them so…

I think after Mirabel told Alma how she really felt, there would have been small changes but gradually Abuela would fall back into old practices, dismissing any critique from her children or grandparents as being over sensitive and the “failure of this gentle parenting trend”.

I feel that the most sincere and sustainable progress within the Madrigal household would come from the triplets, who have always quietly promised to bring their children and family up in a much more loving way than what they knew. There would be a sense of revolution, with Julieta making sure to congratulate Isabela on her expressive art and spiky plant formations. Felix would encourage Luisa to dive into her love of music, perform for the village. Dancing proudly at every piano recital and singing her songs in the shower like he’s at a Beyoncé show.

I feel that Antonio would be the one to finally fully open Abuela’s eyes or at least detirmine, with Mirabel, the future direction of the Madrigals.

A singular like and when my no-buy is over I’ll buy the whole Talon series so I can re-read what I’ve already read and rejoin the fandom with fresh eyes so I can reignite this hyperfixation and make art + write fics for it now I actually know how to do those things which I not when I originally made this account

Do you ever sit and think about how whilst damn near everyone was bad-mouthing and sharing rumours about Bruno, Julieta never said a word against her brother. She may not have known exactly what happened or what prompted him to leave, but not once did she make him out to be the bad guy, especially not to Mirabel. She said he had lost his way in the family, but she didn’t blame him. She knew something was wrong but she didn’t know what, even after all those years without him, she knew he loved his family.

And do you ever think about how Mirabel probably responded to that subconsciously, because even when the family and community was singing about all these awful things he did, she said “give me the truth and the whole truth, Bruno” the whole truth. Even with all these negative testimonies she was willing to hear the other side. And do you ever think about how Julieta probably saw Bruno in his daughter, and in seeing how Abuela treated him when his gift didn’t fit her narrative, she swore to make sure Mirabel always felt loved, seen, wanted. And do you ever think about how she always complimented Mirabel’s funky glasses, her brother’s signature colour?

And do you ever think about when Bruno felt like he had to do an apology tour, Julieta stopped him with a hug, affirming that none of that mattered and she was just happy to have him back in her life. Back in the family. Where he belongs.

I just know Bruno’s love is so gentle. Patient, taking care to remember every little detail. I just know he picks flowers to bring home for his love, meticulously arranges them in the green bottle he up-cycled into a vase, humming softly as he waters them. I just know he runs a warm bubble bath, checking the temperature once, twice, thrice, making sure it’s to their liking. He’ll smile to himself as he lights each scented candle, one, two, three, ta-da! Billy Joel plays quietly in the background as he shuffles on the bathroom floor in his favourite slippers, the ones his lover picked up from a market stall on a random day. They were soft and comfy, shaped like sleepy rats, of course they were perfect for Bruno.

Bruno’s love is the faint pitter-patter of rain you fall asleep to after a long day. The sigh of relief when you finally get your worries of your chest; the comfort of re-reading your favourite cheesy novel, even though you know the story word for word. He’s the moment it all clicks. And he doesn’t even know it.

I like to imagine that Camilo falls in love with someone who makes him feel so comfortable and loved in his own body that when someone next asks what his power is and he tells them, they’ll say “I haven’t seen you do that before” and he goes “I haven’t wanted to be anyone else but myself in a really long time”

Do you ever sit and think about how visibly hurt Julieta was about Bruno’s disappearance and how she probably figured it had something to do with Abuela and how she might have tried giving Alma her food in the hopes that it would heal her heart and trauma so she could be a loving mother and grandmother instead of a stone cold matriarch who ruled with an iron fist and drove her family apart in a desperate attempt to hold them together? Yeah me neither.
