Hello chrunchers and munchers, sippers and dippers!
I have not in fact abandoned this blog, I’ve just been on a little impromptu hiatus. But good news for me! I’ve recently found out that I am no longer allergic to shellfish (crustaceans)! Big yippee! So this post serves as an update that I will no longer be posting about wether or not certain foods are safe for shellfish allergies at Walt Disney World Orlando, it’s resorts, and the occasional Disney Springs restaurant. However this does mean that I will now be able to inform you of if many of Disney World’s fares of the seafood variety are safe for peanut and tree nut allergies! What a wide world of options have opened up now!
Stay tuned for more sporadic posts and have a nice day!

- Biergarten Allergen Menu Photos -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Park: Epcot, World Showcase, Germany Pavilion
Additional thoughts: Apologies for the poor lighting and shadows, if you’ve ever seen the inside of the Biergarten restaurant you know it’s nearly impossible to get a good photo of something on paper in there. If you haven’t seen the inside of the restaurant the restaurant has low lighting which is great for ambiance but not great for taking pictures of the menu.

Food Items: Sticky Chicken Wings + Baked Brie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Drink: Hibiscus Coconut Refresher
Tumblr media
Date: August 2023
Resort: Riviera
Allergies: Peanut, Tree Nut, Shellfish
- Information Below -
Both of the food items and the drink were given the “ok” by the chef. I ate some of both items and drank the beverage and had no allergic reaction whatsoever.
Verdict: Safe for peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish!
Additional thoughts: I highly recommend both the wings and the brie, the brie recently changed recipes and I was happy to learn that this new version was also ok for me to eat (and was very tasty I might add). But onto my last comment, the restaurant these items are at is called Bar Riva. They recently added three dessert options to their menu. The Classic Tiramisú, a Lava Cake and Fresh Seasonal Fruit (plant based). The only one of the three that is safe for peanut and tree nut allergies is the fruit, the other two both contain tree nuts.

Food Item: Chocolate Ganache Tart
Date: August 2023
Resort: Riviera
Allergies: Peanut, Tree Nut
The allergen booklet provided by a cast member listed this item as being safe for consumption for those with peanut and tree nut allergies (neither allergens were listed in red, nor were they in bold anywhere throughout the ingredients list). However, upon closer inspection one of the components of the dessert item was listed as “may contain almonds”. This was not in bold, nor was it listed in red at the bottom of the ingredients list. Instead it was in the regular small text in the middle of the ingredients list.
Verdict: Safe for peanut allergies, not safe for tree nut allergies (almonds).
Additional thoughts: This was a very odd and frankly a bit unsafe way to list the ingredients of this item. Two years ago there had been no problem with this item nor its listing in the allergen booklet. It seems that in the last two years the booklet was changed and now not only has this error but also does not list all available items. Due to the severity of my allergy I opted to avoid this item and cannot comment on my experience eating it.

Hello!
Welcome to my blog documenting/listing allergen friendly food options at Walt Disney World in Orlando. I am an individual with severe food allergies, my allergens include Peanuts, Tree Nuts and Shellfish (Crustaceans). I created this blog because I wanted people who have similar allergies to myself to be able to know about what foods they could potentially have on any future trips they may take to the parks. I mostly list foods that are not already listed on the My Disney Experience App as being allergen friendly, for example the limited time foods from things like Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival and foods from various “sit down” restaurants across the parks and at the various on property resorts. Occasionally I mention if foods are safe for allergies other than my own, please note I most likely won’t list off items that are not safe for the allergens I’ve listed above as I’m not going to be consuming or purchasing those items. I also will be listing any discrepancies or issues I personally encounter at the parks/resorts regarding allergies and food safety practices. If you have any questions about any of the food I mention here on this blog feel free to ask about it and I will answer it to the best of my ability knowing that I am just one person and can only go off of my own experiences and the information I am given by chefs and cast members alike.
Thank you and have a nice day!
