Review of Unnatural #1

Despite the dark backdrop of Mirka Andolfo’s Unnatural, it’s hard not to fall for the whimsical charm of Lesley. Not since Mrs. Piggy and Kermit the Frog has a swine’s love interest been so captivating. Of course, this tortured-romance has the potential to be more riveting given Lesley’s attraction to a—gulp—wolf.

Mirka’s social commentary on the boundaries of love is biting, and I’m eager to read more. Her hijacking of the rainbow as an icon for LBGT pride is particularly clever and disturbing. We are all different. We can be together. Just don’t blur the lines. Preserve your civilization. “Don’t break the law!”
