It feels strange looking back at this semester and how fast it seemed to go. I, like several of you, I’m sure, took Digital Literacies. because it was suggested by Dr. Iglesias. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I am excited to have taken it, particularly because it reignited in me a desire to podcast.
To be honest, I’m not much of a tech guy. I use facebook and have a galaxy 6 but I’ve just never had a particular interest in the workings of internet technology. This class didn’t convert me completely. I still find the tech world tedious, but it did provide me with some new concepts that make it more interesting. Digital Literacies also made me engage with technology in ways that I hadn’t before, or at least appreciate things about tech that I had taken for granted.
The Unessay project was the turning point of the semester for me. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do and still didn’t by the day we were supposed to pick our topics. I just blurted out the first thing that popped into my head, which happened to be podcasts. However, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with podcasts. I knew what I had done in the past, which was record myself and three of my buddies “shooting the shit’ about Game of Thrones. That was my starting point. So, I decided to do the same thing, but with one less person, and with more focus on literature. In creating the podcast I used numerous forms of technology in conjunction with one another. After buying a microphone, I had to use Audacity to record, edit, and upload it. I used Wordpress to publish the podcast, and in doing so had to rearrange the webpage to be as aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate as possible. And, not that this was part of the project, but I used Facebook to market the podcast and share it with any of my friends and family who were interested. I learned the most and provided the most evidence of what I had learned via the Unessay project and the creation of my podcast.
P.S. As you can see, I’ve attached a link to the first podcast in the Books and Beers series if any of you guys are interested. I had fun this semester.
I wish you all the best,
Heath

When I heard that USM was now offering a digital literacies course for the first time, I knew it was something I needed to be a part of. I did not just take it because I needed it for my degree, I took it because I felt like it would be a beneficial and interesting class...and, I was right. I did not really know what to expect when I first started, but man did I learn a lot throughout the semester.
Before this class, I had no idea how much technology effects how we read, write, and speak. I guess it’s just one of those things you don’t think about until you’re asked to. This class challenged me to look at technology on a whole different level, and to not be afraid to ask questions. I normally don’t like asking questions in class but I felt like I could in this class and also that I could ask my peers for help as well.
In this class I also created my first blog and tumblr. I was not familiar at all with either of these things before this class... I knew what these things were, but I did not ever think about creating one myself until I took this class.
I really like how this class works. I also liked how it was not too small and not too large in terms of my classmates. We had enough people to make discussions meaningful but not too many so that we could have time to ask questions of discuss things one on one with Dr. Inman.
This was my first time having Dr. Inman as a teacher and I must say that I enjoyed having her very much. She always has a positive attitude when she comes in and she is always there (in class and outside) to answer any ridiculous questions that I might have. I can honestly say (and I don’t normally say this...wait, I don’t think I’ve ever said this) that I’m going to miss taking this class.
Thank you Dr. Inman for all of your time, help, and donuts.
This has been a wonderful learning opportunity.
Have a great summer everyone!!

I Hate It’s Over.
To be completely honest, I was in this class simply because Dr. Iglesias put me in it. I had no earthly idea what to expect. I had never heard of digital literacies, ever. When I heard we had to use Tumblr I was asking my younger sisters if they ever used it because I had never seen nor heard of it.
This particular class was the very first class I had on my first day, first semester, at a completely new school. I loved it. It was my favorite class this entire semester. I was never bored in this class. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and I think that Dr. Inman is the perfect person to teach it. I hope to take more of her classes while I am here.
Tumblr media
I think it is safe to say that I learned more in this class than any other this semester. I think that what I learned in here will most definitely help me as I continue onward towards my degree. I hope everyone has a great summer, and I hope to see most, if not all, of you in the fall!

Part of why I took this class was because I thought it would help me with my Honors thesis about video games. I didn’t expect it to cover games at first, but I thought that learning more about what constitutes as “digital humanities” would be beneficial to my humanities study of games. Sufficed to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only did I learn a ton of things about digital humanities I knew nothing about before, I even got to learn a bit about video games! With the validation that video games do indeed count as digital humanities, I knew right away what I wanted my final project to be about. What’s even better is that what I learned about the various genres of digital humanities helped me decide that I wanted to present my project as a website. I’m confident in saying that I feel both humbled and enlightened, for I learned that I knew much less about digital humanities that I initially thought.
Tumblr media
I originally planned for my final project to be a video series. Some of my favorite content on the internet are video essays and reviews analyzing games with a combination of insightful commentary and pertinent video footage. I quickly realized, however, that such a project was well beyond my means: I lacked the equipment necessary to create the series the way I wanted, I lacked the editing skills necessary to make it mimic the style of videos that I enjoy, and finally I lacked the time to do any of it. Many Youtubers spend several weeks on one video, let alone a series of five. So with that dream dead, my first compromise was to turn it into a blog, but I quickly realized that the blog format was too restricting for what I wanted to do. I wanted my project to reflect multimodality as much as possible, and although blogs are more multimodal than plain essays, it wasn’t enough. I wanted the whole design of my blog to encapsulate the spirit of my topic, so I decided to make a website that mimics the design of Twitch. I wanted to incorporate images, videos, web design, and a ton of links to make it as engaging and multimodal as possible. I wanted my project on digital humanities to be as purely digital as possible; I felt nothing else was appropriate, and it worked out much better than expected.
I would not have been able to do this without the knowledge I gained from this class. I feel like I have come away with more knowledge and enjoyment than any other class I’ve taken this semester, and I will recommend all of my friends to take it whenever it is offered! Thank you, Dr. Inman; I’ll never forget it!

IS IT REALLY THE END???
Wow, I can't believe it's the end of the semester. I would like to start off by saying, out of all six classes I studied, this class was the most interesting. When I signed up for this class, I had absolutely no idea of what to expect. All I knew was it was going to deal with technology. I really do not know that much about the digital world besides social media. One thing I have realized is that technology has mad is pretty stupid. I came to the conclusion that I can not keep up with any password because it is kept for us on our phones, tablets and devices. When we were discussing how games incorporate with digital literacy, I was confused. I have never been into the games so I was lost. The games I played had no meaning to it. All in all, I have learned a lot about digital literacies. When deciding what to do for my project, I had no clue what I was going to do. I decided to research something that Interest me the most. Basketball quickly came into my mind. I chose to research how social media has changed basketball. Off the top of my head, I knew a few reasons how social media has changed the game. There were not many research on the topic. I decided to research different sport applications such ass Hudl Technique, Yahoo Famtasy, and Head Coach Basketball. I found that a lot of these apps allow you to save, share, and draw different plays, exercises, and notes into practice plan. Researching these apps actually educated me on what apps are new for this sport. I recently had use the app UpMyGame for coaching at Oak Grove Girl's Basketball team. UpMyGame allowed me to record a player performing a shot, and slow down recording to allow players to see exactly how they are performing the technique. This project intrested me throughout the whole process. I originally decided to write a paper for my essay because that would be the easiet way. I felt like writing a paper would be too boring. Then, I decided to create a website. I am the art type of girl. I love designing and making things look professional. I used wix.com for my research. I don't know if it was just me, but wix did not do a good job of corroperating with me. There were three times wix has froze, deleted, and shut down all my internet pages. The last two times it deleted was on the final day for submission.. It deleted four pages of my material each time. It frustrated me a lot because I was down countless time. Besides all the problems with wiz.com, I believe I have accomplished what I needed for my research project. Now that this class is over, I feel like I have a better understanding what digital literacy really is. I enjoyed every minute of your class Dr. Inman! You're a great teacher, and I hope you get a chance to teach this course again!

Reflections eh?
Oh my gosh, time really flew this semester but hey I’m not mad about it.  School has been giving me headaches lately. I must say that I really enjoyed this class. It has been the most interesting course I’ve taken in college thus far. I know that it may not like seem like it because I rarely engaged in conversation but I most definitely was involved, just not verbally.  Mainly because my mood is on Kanye 24/7. I would find something interesting engage in my mind and then....
Tumblr media
Nonetheless, Our classroom environment was so chill and comfortable, I loved it. Dr. Inman, thank you for being approachable, understanding, and patient. You always gave off such positive energy, which is probably why we were all so comfortable. You are truly inspiring, I hope to be an impactful teacher to others as you were to me.
Coming into this class, like many of you, I was unsure of what to expect. I knew that any digital English course, had to be better than the traditional English course. In this course I was able to learn about how digital literacies influence humanities, especially with the tumblr post we had to do about understanding digital humanities. I was also able to learn so much from some you guys, especially with the gaming. The way some of you talked about games was mind blowing, I never paid attention to the literature in gaming until this class. This class also opened me up the all the digital genres and ways to respond to this tech savvy generation. As a future educator, this class his helped me learn how to understand reading and writing digitally as well as prepared on how to relate to different digital genres in response to new audiences and situations that I may encounter with in the future.
However, my final project was actually a struggle. I knew what I was passionate about and what I wanted to talk about but while conducting research and doing the project, choosing a great medium and considering my audience caused me to have to rethink my project and it’s purpose. I highly underestimated the details of the project oppose to just a traditional research paper. As I reflect on my project, I enjoyed the trial and error process and enjoyed creating my blog about something that interested me.
As I get to the end of this post, I’m actually kind of sad and wish we could have one more class and eat doughnuts together one last time. Hope you all have a great summer.

The end already??
When I first signed up for this class, I’ll admit that I knew nothing about digital literacies. I was completely intimidated by all of the information and expectations laid out on the first day of class. When I heard that we were going to have to do digital projects, it seemed so tough for someone who is used to papers on Microsoft Word being the extent of my digital skills. Being around so many talented people who already knew everything about digital literacies was intimidating to say the least.
Tumblr media
When I entered the class, for some reason I thought that I was going to be surrounded by others who were just as lost as I was. I clearly wrong. However, I feel that I ultimately the balance of the super talented students and those of us who were struggling to link our Tumblrs to the class Tumblr ended up making a majorly successful class. On the day when we all played video games, I felt that we grew as a class. People who know the ins and outs of every listed game were helping those who knew nothing about any of them. I feel that the dynamic or the class helped a lot when we were learning about different types of digital literacies.
Tumblr media
In this class, I realized just how many things can be categorized as digital literacies, and that made me realize that not every aspect of digital literacies is as intimidating as I thought in the beginning. I was extremely worried that I was going to fall behind because of my lack of experience with the digital literacies, but once I realized that things like YouTube and Tumblr count, I realized that I was going to be fine.
The final project really got me thinking about more behind the scenes parts of online sources. I realize now that there is a lot more that goes into making a blog, article, and website than I had previously thought. Deciding on which medium is best for the intended audience is something that I had not dealt with very often because of my typical structured classes in the past. However, in another class, we were expected to essentially do exactly what we have been learning in here for a final project. When my professor told us that we should make websites or blogs in order to complete our final projects, I didn’t worry nearly as much as I would have four moths ago.
I thoroughly enjoyed that we were encouraged to research all types of sources rather than hearing “ONLY PEER REVIEWED NATIONALLY PUBLISHED SOURCES WRITTEN BY PEOPLE WITH 5 OR 6 DEGREES AND SPEAK FLUENT LATIN” for another semester. (Okay, a little dramatic, but you get the point.) By learning to use a variety of sources, I feel that my work has more meat to it that the boring research papers I have done in the past.
Overall, I enjoyed this class, even if I am not nearly as proficient as most of the class was coming into the semester. I feel that I have learned a lot of skills over the course of this semester, and even though I ended up changing my project last minute from a blog to a BuzzFeed article, neither of those would have been remotely possible for me to attempt until I went through this class. I am glad for the summer, but I am sad to see this class go!
Best wishes, everyone!

#Reflections
Wow, it’s the end already! Feels just like yesterday, Dr. Inman was walking around taking our pictures with her iPad. Where did the time go?
Tumblr media
Let me just say this, before entering this course I never knew so many things fell under digital humanities. Thanks to Dr. Inman I now have a new found appreciation and respect for those that study and help define what digital humanities is. Before this class, I thought I was somewhat digital literate. Wrong! I am just a little basic human in this digital world. I have so much more I need to learn. Not only did I learn about digital humanities in this course, I also sat back and observed a lot of our classmates. I don't if anyone else noticed, but we had a very diverse classroom. From video game, makeup to entertainment/Hollywood lovers, and the list goes on.
Also being in this class allowed me to become more open minded to video games and those that play them. I have never been a big video game fan, but now I understand why people sit for ours plays them. It's their world, it is what keeps them sane. Before this course I thought video games were just Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, you know basic games. There's soooooo much more put there!  Though some of the video games can be a bit depressing. Referring to the game we played in class! Can we say: BUZZ KILL!
Tumblr media
Nevertheless, I think I successfully completed the learning outcomes outlined in the course. I My most challenging learning outcomes was “Understand the specific expectations of 2.0 audiences in the humanities and adapt communications to more effectively address these expectations.” After changing my “unessay topic” three times I came to the conclusion that things were not going to work out like I expected them too and everyone does not perceive things the way I do. When looking for a project idea, I had to find one I was interested in and one that could be expressed clearly and interactively through a multimodal experiment. Therefore, I had to find and stick to a topic and find a way to correctly express my topic. I think I did a great job at creating and designing the Beythehomegirl.wordpress.com.
I had to understand what a 2.0 audience was, incorporate some things that would keep my audience interested without losing focus of my content or my intended purpose. I also had to find the right thing to say, while also considering who my audience may be. I think my entire project allowed me to understand learning outcome (Analyze and better comprehend. . .), because I had to analyze what other people were saying about the album as well as what I felt about the album, and what the album actually meant. Though, the website could be way better than what it is. If I had decided on the topic earlier and had more time to make more connections and discoveries, it could have definitely been a site of gold. But, oh well. We win some, we lose some, but there will always be pizza, right?!
Tumblr media
My final project allowed me to gain understanding of all the learning outcomes. It challenged me in all areas. It allowed me to move out of my comfort zone, talk about some things I have never talked about publicly, and allowed me to appreciate some things culturally and academically.
I would just like to say THANK YOU to Dr. Inman for putting up with me everytime I had a new idea or tried to make sense of the "brilliant" ideas I thought I had. You're the real MVP!

This is The End
As many of you know, we have been working on our unessay projects. These projects have been so eye opening for most of us.  For me, it was an opportunity to start something I have always had the passion for yet little motivation.  I want to start by explaining that this project is over for me.  I chose to build a blog that analyzes Pro ANA or Pro Anorexia culture.  I intend to continually build onto this blog and continue my intellectual growth in doing so.
What growth, you may ask?
Within this project, as well as the class as a whole, I have had the oppertunity to better strengthen my ability to analyze and comprehend the influence of literature and technology.  I’ve needled these abilities through extensive online research of the Pro ANA culture.  Through this research I was able to understand how the culture thrived through communication and literature.  However, this communication and literature only appears online.  The fact that both the digital world and written world co-exist isn’t quite revolutionary.  The real comprehension came when I began to see that these people have created this culture online because it is safer, they are able to hide behind phone screens and laptops and exist around people who accept and understand their decisions.  Digital literacies has influenced humanities in such a way that it can be widely dispersed and create entire communities online simply by offering a safe haven.
Beyond this simple fact, I have been able to fully grasp how to create interactive and readable documents.  By building this blog I had to spend time addressing who my audience may be.  After considering who would benefit most by the information I had, I decided a blog would be the most accessible.  My audience would probably be teenagers, who both identify as Pro ANA and who don’t.  With this in mind, I had to make my posts clear and accurate while still interesting.  I chose to do this by incorporating an interview, hyper links, a survey within the blog, images, and even a video.  All of these features made my blog as a whole more interactive and interesting to my audience.
I believe that both of these assessments prove that I have learned to conduct advanced research while effectively incorporating the research into my posts.  I have proved this by inserting all of my sources throughout my posts. I hope that my assessment of myself proves to be true throughout my blog posts.
Ultimately, as I started with, I am not finished with my blog.  This is to say that this is not a project I intend on ditching after our grades are posted.  This class  has  motivated me in my academic research to continue not only this project, but to consider others.  I am very glad I chose to take Digital Literacies this semester.  Thank you for such a lovely experience.

End of the Line
Coming into this class I was not completely sure about what this course was going to be like, I do not claim to be digitally literate, but I have come a long way since the beginning of this class. I had no idea Tumblr even existed before this class if that gives any indication of my familiarity with the digital world. I have never been comfortable with the “digital world” (unless itunes counts) until the unessay project
Before deciding exactly what I was going to research, I made up my ind that I was going to get out of my comfort zone and do anything except the traditional essay. Believe me I was way out of my comfort zone, and there were many times I wanted to quit and fall back on the essay. However, deciding to use a blog for my unessay was the best thing I could have done. Choosing to go with a digital medium forced me to and get comfortable and more familiar with computer technology. Even though we used Tumblr for our class assignments, I had no idea how to successfully or properly blog. Only after deciding to do a series of blogs, and then having them torn apart by Dr. Innman (constructively of course) did I begin to actually learn what a proper blog consists of. So in learning how to properly blog I had to be cognizant of my audience, and and by doing so choose specific design and rhetoric choices best suited for my viewers.
In a world that continues to dive farther into the digital realm, I, being slightly intimidated by this thought before, feel that this course has allowed me to realize that this thought doesn’t have to be this intimidating. I am definitely more comfortable now with the digital realm than I was at the beginning of this class.

Phil LeMere’s Reflection, Though
I have thought for most of my life that I understand the ways of technology--specifically the internet. Now, I’m not going to say that I don’t know a lot about the digital world because I do; however, that’s not to say that I didn’t have a lot to learn from this class. I realized just how much I learned in this class when I was in about the middle of my Unessay project.
Writing a blog is nothing like writing a typical research paper. My first Unessay included my first blog site as well, and it was difficult to figure it out at first. I had to realize that writing for a blog--especially a video game blog--required a loose form of writing. I needed to be whimsical and light about my subjects. This isn’t to say that blog writing is easier or inferior to traditional methods because it isn’t. It is simply a different way of writing. I had to learn how to write like the internet writes, and I’m glad I learned how to do it through this class. Now I understand that digital literature, if you will, is just another form of reading and writing.
My blog allowed me to discover different types of audiences I have never been able to indulge in before. People on the internet, who read blogs and such, don’t want digital authors to beat around the bush. At the same time, they want the writers to keep things entertaining, you know? They want humor and they want pop culture references or any reference to the subject at hand. I saw a lot of this through gaming sites like IGN and Gamespot. I wanted to have an authentic voice in my blog, so I read over 20+ articles to get the feel. I’m not a master at it, but I understand it better. Readers want links to these references, which I utilized so that the blog would be interactive. I implemented videos to support what I was talking about at the time. Every reference I made had a hyperlink for the same reason.
Although much of what I discussed in the blog was based on personal opinion, I didn’t just blurt out whatever was on my mind onto the post. I had to find things that supported my theories. This is where the videos and game sites came in. See, many people in the gaming world have similar ideas about video game storytelling, which I was happy to find. By exploring digital archives and video game research I evolved my own ideas on narratives in video game storytelling.
Anyway, I had an excellent time learning from you, Dr. Inman, this semester. You’re a great teacher, and I know it must have been stressful being that this is the first time ENG 365 was offered. You did a good job.

Reflections
I honestly had no idea what to expect when I enrolled in this class. The description caught my attention, but the main reason I jumped in was because it would replace my requirement for an IT class. After the first day, I realized this was going to be a huge learning experience for me. I avoided the IT requirement because I cannot technology well, but I soon realized I was not going to be able to avoid my incompetency of tech much longer. When it comes to the class outcomes, I feel like I was able to reach some of the set goals.
Tumblr media
The second outcome, “Consider appropriate audiences, mediums, and purposes, as well as the uses and constraints of these choices, for varied rhetorical situations,” was an outcome I feel that I was successful in understanding. My final project was a website that focused on the evolution of Batman and the media. Picking a medium was the hardest decision, but I realized a website would be the best way to express my idea. It allowed me to incorporate the visual of Batman physically developing while also providing examples of media coverage without drowning in sources. I chose an appropriate medium considering the amount of information I was compiling for one project. I think it made the overall look of the project much better, and it made the amount of data easier to digest.
Tumblr media
“Understand the basic features of several professional and public digital genres, and how to modify these features in response to new audiences and situations” is another outcome I feel like I reached. I was able to take stories from multiple news outlets (newspapers, broadcasts, journal articles) and organize them to coincide with each Batman movie. I know reading news stories does not sound like the most entertaining activity to some people, but I worked to condense the stories into readable summaries of each event while also providing links to the full articles and sources.
Unfortunately, my performance in this class has been subpar. Events outside of the classroom influenced my overall class participation. I thoroughly enjoyed being in this class and learning more about digital humanities—a concept I was unaware of until this semester. The Unessay was one of the most stressfully rewarding experiences of my college career so far. Building an entire website was far outside of my comfort zone, but I am so glad I did it.

End Reflections
Although I consider myself pretty digitally literate, this ENG 365 has taught me that I have so much more I need to learn. I knew quite a bit about the creative side of our developing digital era, such as video games and digital poetry. However, there are more areas I still need to learn about, like digital archives. I really didn’t know much about how digital archives were being used and what kind of digital archive projects were being created and expanded on. Thanks to ENG 365, I realize how the digital community as a whole is trying to incorporate itself into the educational field in order to improve how we learn or store information. I’m hoping with my final project that I am able to show how closely related the creative and literary side of digital literacies. I believe that as the digital era progresses we will have more and more digital works being created and by almost everyone since technology is becoming easier to use.
Overall, I enjoyed this class even though I was a bit more vocal than normal during class. I will miss Dr. Inman. It’s not everyday that you are able to have such an understanding professor! However, I won’t miss making such a pain of a final project (even though it wasn’t all bad.

Final Reflections
I have never considered myself as being technology oriented. This class has taught me a lot about different types of technology and the ways it can be combined with reading and writing. Although there are some things that I am still unfamiliar with, such as Podcasts and video gaming, this class has made me want to learn more about these technologies. This is because now I realize through different forms of technology we are able to tell stories or present some form of writing and/or literature; however the information is just presented in a different way.
One of our student learning outcomes is to consider appropriate audiences, mediums, and purposes, as well as the users and constraints of these choices, for varied rhetorical situations. This outcome was important while doing my final project. One huge aspect of our projects was to choose the appropriate genre suited for our topic and our audience. This was one of the toughest parts of our project, being that I could not decided whether I wanted to do a blog or a website on my topic of social media and the effects it has on women. However Dr. Inman put really well into perspective the types of readers I want to reach and the most effective way to get my message and information across. Even though the website would have been fun to do as well I chose the blog because I had so many different topics that I wanted to talk about. This is when I decided on the blog because I could use a different post of each of my topics. Also I aimed to reach women of my own age because I experience many of the insecurities that I discuss in my blog. College women like myself read female blogs quite often (so many of my friends and classmates do) which is why I chose the blog medium for my project.
Another one of our student outcomes was to create usable, interactive, persuasive, clear, accurate, and readable “documents”. This outcome makes me think about the digital poetry at the beginning of the semester. This was my first time learning about digital poetry and I really did enjoy it. The outcome states that the material should be interactive and persuasive and the digital poetry we looked at were both. The sounds and the images allowed me to engage more with the actual poetry, rather than just reading words on a page. The digital poetry gave me a clear image of what the poet wants the audience to see and think about, instead of me reading traditional poetry and having to myself create an image of what I think the poet means. The digital poetry was also persuasive. Looking at the poetry along with sounds, images, and movement makes it more believable.
Our last outcome says to conduct more advanced research in a variety of contexts, and more effectively incorporate this research in writing and analyses of varied literatures. This outcome was important while doing our final projects as well. One huge part of our final unessays was to conduct research based on our topic and to present the research in an appropriate way based on the genre we chose. Dr. Inman taught me a lot about this when she sent back feedback for my final blog. I initially added my sources to the end of each of my posts as I always do when writing a traditional research paper. However because my project is an online blog she explained to me how each of my sources should be hyperlinked to exactly where I got my research from. This makes sense because the way I present my information should flow throughout my blog. Readers now can click directly on my links and it takes them to that particular webpage.
Overall I really enjoyed the class. My favorite part was learning from all of my other classmates. You guys are really good with technology (especially Chris) and I learned a lot this semester. Also Dr. Inman you’re such a cool professor and thank you for everything!

These are my reflections..
Like, Confessions, get it?
Tumblr media
I believe that I have come a long way throughout this course. In the beginning, I barely even knew how to post anything on Tumblr, and now here I am making corny Usher jokes and using gifs (even though I’ll admit that I didn’t actually know how to upload gifs on here until just now).
Tumblr media
Above is a screenshot of my first post in which I actually thought that Tumblr had time stamps. Fortunately, my knowledge of this website and many other aspects of digital humanities did improve throughout this class (although my punctuality did not-sorry Dr. Inman). Throughout this course, I was faced with many challenges as I have always been digitally-illiterate, but I was also able to explore many new mediums and learn things that I never would have known had I never been forced to leave my comfort zone.
Anyway, after all that this is what I found:
1. You got it, you got it bad (please tell me someone gets these awful Usher jokes).
2. I hate digital poetry, but I do respect it as a medium and as a unique way of experiencing literature.
3. The world of education and literature is changing, and this class has possibly prepared me for my future as an educator more than any course I’ve had thus far.
4. BuzzFeed is not as easy as it looks (I have been trying to edit my final project for the past five hours, and the website still refuses to cooperate).
5. I will do anything to try and please my audience. Have you seen how cheesy the quiz is on my final project? If not, here’s an example:

6. Always give the people what they want (is this just a repeat of number five?). Okay, so the tone of my final project changed so much from the feedback from my friends, to the feedback from the class, to the feedback from Dr. Inman.
7. Literature can take many forms, and these forms are a lot more interesting when they are interactive. I think the fact that I made a quiz and used the question answer format (or whatever it’s called) on this post is proof enough of my capabilities in making my writing interactive (okay, so maybe I could do a better job of this, but you have to start somewhere).
8. Research is cool, and there’s this thing called the library that can help you, and you can even access these things called databases via the library website! (Oh, and the best part, there’s Google Scholar which is way more sophisticated than just plain Google).
9. Somehow, video games are even less fun in class than they are when I sit there for hours and watch my boyfriend play them.
10. This school offers some pretty cool courses, and I’m actually glad that this one was required, even though I still kinda suck at using technology.

(I thought another unnecessary Usher post would be too much here)

It may be the end but the force is still with us, right?
Hello everybody! I going to first start out by saying that I am very upset because I just found out my tumblr post did not post last week and I found out why I guess because I used my ipad it showed that it uploaded in the app but when I checked tonight because no one responded to my post I found out that my post did not in fact upload then I had to restart my computer 4 times because tumblr did not want to let me type in the text box but I could type in the title and tag area. Anyway enough of that.

This class has indeed been an adventure. I learned how to make YouTube videos, buzzfeed, article, and how to use tumblr all in one class. I hope my ending project does prove to be a success because I worked really hard on the final draft, which was a buzzfeed article with my YouTube video. Before completing this project I did not know that music has so many components that tie into each other to affect our emotions. Its pretty amazing.

I tried my best to incorporate all of the important information while also trying to make it funny and not boring. My goal was to achieve an A in this class and I hope my final project will reflect my desire for it. I will include the link to my buzzfeed article and if anyone wants to view it and comment on it please feel free to do so.
Thank you Dr. Inman for being understanding , patient, honest and kind with me I hope you enjoy my final
