In honor of finishing the draft for Chapter 2 of "Signal Lost" on AO3 (currently in beta read) I made a little meme thing.

Blurr is about to go through it. He might wish he had been cubed instead.

There’s like, barely any references for Wheelie so I’ve been studying your art to learn how to draw him. lol.🤣 I love your art!

You have so thoroughly sold me on the Blurr-Wheelie family concept that I gotta ask if Wheelie is aware that Blurr is a member of the high guard and of all the stuff having to do with investigating him and his circumstances. Or if to Wheelie Blurr is just the guy he lives with now and if hes in the dark about all that other baggage.

Yeah I think Wheelie would be well aware of Blurr’s status and goal when they first meet. It may not be explicitly stated but he can put the pieces together.

Clues:

-Sentinel is a loud mouth and wouldn’t be shy about what he thinks Wheelie could potentially be

-Wheelie is prohibited from leaving Blurrs pad (I guess habsuites/apartments are called pads in tfa?)

-the only times Blurr would talk to him would be to ask questions/lightly interrogate him. During the first few days at least

Lol so what does Wheelie think about Rodiblurr? Or is that, like, two separate concepts?

Its two separate concepts but Wheelie is in the picture for both, its more a matter of if Rodimus is or not lol

I haven’t explored their dynamic as a whole too much yet but according to g1 Rodimus is really good with kids and Wheelie seemed to have looked up to him (he and Danny were really sad to see him go in season 4).

Honestly-? Rodimus makes a better father figure than Blurr does. He’d be a lot more attentive- just less responsible haha

Is there a specific reason Wheelie's scared of flying? Since you mentioned it was 'for a good reason'!

Yeah he canonically got stranded in Quintesson territory according to the Allspark Almanac, I’m tying back to this comic where it shows how he got stranded. He was the only survivor, losing both his parents in the crash. This happens in IDW as well but he was on a solo mission, no dead parents.

So he’s already been through one crash and really doesn’t wanna have a repeat experience.

I loooooooooove your Wheelie and Blurr stuff. It is insanely fun and adorable. Do you have any background on how/why these two are together? i mean it seems like Wheelie is staying with Blurr but hes not really his dad? Whats your take on these guys backstories?

Yeah so to keep it short my hc was that Wheelie was rescued from Zeotopia in Quintesson territory by the Silver Guardians (this first part is canon) and then passed onto Blurr in order to be quarantined and supervised because Autobots are hella paranoid. The circumstances surrounding Wheelie’s discovery was very strange, one might even say convenient. A young, supposedly harmless bot found alone in the middle of the jungle? Could be a plant from the enemy.

So Blurr, being between off planet deployments and well versed in espionage, gets picked for the job (potentially by Sentinel who knows just how much he’ll *love* the opportunity). Blurr is obviously less than thrilled to be given the assignment but takes it in stride, at least until he’s not in front of his superiors lol

The arrangement isn’t ideal for either bot. Wheelie has been forced to leave behind everything he knew. As treacherous as it was, he had friends and a home there that he hadn’t even been allowed to say goodbye to before being carried off to some strange planet full of bots that look like him but act nothing like him.

Meanwhile, Blurr now has to monitor a near-protoform that acts like a wild organic. His pristine hab that he used to have all to himself must now be converted into an extended interrogation chamber. He’s never spent this much time with another bot and it’s AGONY. What’s worse is he cant get a single word out of the kid. He hasn’t spoken a single syllable since landing on Cybertron.

Long story short, they have a breakthrough. By that i mean they hit a breaking point. I don’t wanna go too far into how they work things out yet cuz im working on it rn (potentially a comic?) but they eventually discover that they have a lot in common. Relationship goes from there and now they’re like family
