Diana noticed that Marisol had been about to protest but she left no room for argument. She was the older sister and she had to look out for her sister. Of course, this wouldn’t stop her from seeking out wine or alcohol elsewhere once they parted ways. But, at least she can have it this way for now. She thinned her lips a bit at her reply.
If only her sister was not so cold towards her. Dia had tried to be the sister that Marisol needed but always ended up not working out the way she wanted it. She always came up short and making Marisol dislike her even more.
She didn’t know what to do and felt at a loss.
“What are you planning on wearing, Hermanita?” She asked conversationally, she cleaned off her brush and set about cleaning up her station. She was meticulous about her cleaning and had to make sure it was perfect. She did not like messes in any way.

Haunted House
@josipkovacic
Diana was clenching her flashlight tightly in her hand. She kept her ears open in case she heard something frightening. Normally, she was not one to venture into an abandoned place or seek it out voluntarily. However, this time she wanted to and she dragged Josip with her. A sort of security blanket in a sense. “Well, i heard this kind of thing is fun. I wanted to do something fun.” She insisted as she stuck close to Josip and led the way with her light and his own. “Don’t you like fun, Josip?” She asked, proud her voice was only slightly shaky.

Diana finished up a flower and set down her brush in the water jar. She debated telling her sister anything these days. Wondering if she would even really care. “Yes, actually.” She said simply as she looked her painting over and looked at Marisol. “It’s a small date in a sense.”
She stood up, “You don’t need wine. I’ll get us some iced tea, it’s far too early to have wine and if anything we can have mimosa’s.” She moved towards the entry way to the garden and spoke with a staff member about arranging ice tea and mimosas. She also put in an order for cheese and meat tray. She headed back and sat down. “So, you will join me in town later?”

Diana clasped her hands together as she followed after him. “So only you attend to the hedge maze?” She asked, her breath visible in the chilly air. She wondered why the other was so strange right now. She did not think she was intimidating or suspicious, right? She picked up the pace as they got closer to the maze.
She looked around to see what the other saw, she couldn’t help the amused smile on her face. His gestures were weird but funny. He was strange indeed. “Oh! The Greeks are great architects indeed! very romantic and elegant.” She cooed in admiration as they came up on the maze. She noticed the change in the other’s demeanor and got excited herself. “I can’t wait to see it!”

Diana smiled, “I see you befriend anyone then don’t you James?” She said as she watched him stand up and she walked over to pick up a leave that got stuck in his hair. “You are very friendly, it’s a good trait to have.” She was glad to know someone who was actually friendly and not intimidated by her or her status.
She looked over at the squirrel, “It doesn’t look all that happy to have you chasing it.” She commented but she didn’t stop him. She smiled at the wrapped biscuit. “You always carry around biscuits in your pocket?”

Diana recognized the stable hand and couldn’t help but laugh at him. “You are chasing a...squirrel?” She asked in amused disbelief as she looked over at where he was pointing. She shook her head and straightened up. “You in the fairy tales a princess has but to sing and all the woodland creatures would come to her.” She smiled, “Would you think it would work?”
She put her hands behind her back and cleared her throat a bit. She sang a silly nursery rhythm that her mother use to sing to her as a child. She trailed off as she watched the squirrel still sitting there watching them. “Well, I guess it doesn’t work quite like in the books.” She supplied with a sigh.

Diana noticed the way he seem to tense when she mentioned how she thought he was capable. She pretended not to notice as they walked onward. She wasn’t one to pry and she didn’t want to start now. Even, if it was eating at her to ask him.
She winced a bit, the way the other spoke about her sister was enough to know she was not like herself. “Yes. I get that a lot. She was....very spoiled and wild growing up.” She sighed softly, her hands going to her coat pockets again to warm them. She was surprised at his question and it made her chew on her lower lip for a moment. “Because then I will have even less freedom then I do now. I would not be able to enjoy simply walking outside without any guards.” She smiled over at Nikolai, “I mean technically i am with a guard now.”

❝ help me decorate! ❞ + ❝ let’s go pick pumpkins! ❞
“Help me decorate!”
Diana lifted her brows, “You want my help?” She asked as she regarded what all the man had started. She loved fall it was her favorite season as it was cold but not extremely at least back home. In Russia, it was freezing. She smiled as she walked over to him. “I would love to help! what shall we start with? I’m sure we can find great pumpkins and fall accessories in town.”
“Let’s go pick pumpkins!”
Diana grinned, “Yes! let’s go!” She tugged on his arm and ignored the guards and dragged him along. “I was really hoping to go pumpkin picking with someone and I’m glad you asked me.” She said with a laugh as she led them out towards the car. She knew her sister wouldn’t do it with her but she was happy the gardener asked her even if they only talked a few times. She was just happy to go out and pick pumpkins.

Diana didn’t comment, she knew her sister probably had some plan up her sleeves. She won’t interfere unless she thought it jeopardized their goals. She will try hard not to be the overbearing sister, which could be very hard. Her sister can be...unruly at times.
she moved on to another flower bush and swirled her paintbrush in a lively yellow. “I’m always pushing my luck.” She countered with a smile on her face. “I have...plans.” She said as she tilted her head to the side and back again. The color wasn’t the right yellow.

Diana held up a hand, “It’s quite all right.” She said with a small smile, she took in the handsome man’s features and could see why her sister had a crush on him. “Well, then give my thanks to the rest of your team.” She gave a small bow of her head and smiled more friendly.
“The ballrooms are indeed very beautiful. Reminds me of the ballrooms back home in Spain.” She gave a small chuckle as she remember the times she caught Marisol dancing in the empty ballroom to her own music. “Oh! there is a hedge maze? I would love to see it.” She said with excitement in her voice.

Diana shrugged, “You could always just ask him.” She suggested, she liked the name and it was adorable. But then, they were two completely different people - her sister and her. She finished up the bottom and started on the rest of the canvas. “It’s not like you to just watch on the sidelines.”
She smiled as she knew the idea of buying more dresses got her sister’s interest. Reluctant or not. She sucked in her lower lip as she worked. “You know, we could always go shopping together more often.”
She tilted her head back and forth as she surveyed her canvas. Her question had her thinking deeply. “Without. I think i will just do it as a mass of flowers.” She decided as she looked over at her sister. Her red hair the complete opposite of her own black hair.

Diana lifted her face to the chill of the cold and nearly missed seeing the guard smile. It made her smile in return as it didn’t seem the guard was much into smiling. She shook herself out as she hunched in her coat. “Princess Arianna? Little Ari is your princess?” She smiled, “She’s wonderful and I’m glad she has a capable guard to protect her.”
“Likewise, Nikolai.” She followed after him as they walked back towards the kitchen area. She was busy warming up her hands when he asked her about her country. “Spain. I’m the crowned princess.” She made a face for a second before smoothing it out. “I hope it doesn’t happen anytime soon.” She mumbled under her breath.

Diana gave a small frown as the younger princess came over to her. She was sure the princess shouldn’t be roaming about at this hour, especially given what happened to her in the past. “You shouldn’t be out here alone. Where is your lady in waiting? or your guard?” She asked even though she herself was without as well. She did not like seeing Aria without protection. Anything could happen especially given the past problems with the rebels. “I was taking a walk before the other members of the castle woke up.” She gave a soft sigh as she kissed the girl’s cheeks in return.
“niña tonta, of course you can.” She said in welcome as she pulled the younger royal in for a hug and then linked arms with her. “Come, let us enjoy the morning together then. Have you not been sleeping well?” She asked as she started walking with her. She knew the other had nightmares, rightfully so after her ordeal. Diana felt the other was very brave and strong. She would make a great queen one day.

Diana supposed she was being slightly ignorant in the danger. She knew all about the kidnappings and had feared for her and her sister’s safety. She was not oblivious by any means she was just being optimistic. She tilted her head back a bit and made an “ah” sound. “a guard but not my guard. Then whose guard are you?”
The walk was nice and even with additional company. She smiled over at him. “Hello, Nikolai. My name is Diana and sorry again for startling you.” She buried her hands in her coat pocket again. “I would not mind sitting outside. Let’s sneak into the kitchen and make it ourselves.”

Diana hide a laugh at the other’s curse and jumpiness. She had not meant to scare him but simply had not seen the shears in his hands. She lifted her hands. “Apologies. I had not realized you were wielding such a dangerous weapon. I might have asked more quietly.” She teased as she lowered her hands and smiled at his polite nod.
She shook her head, “No. I was just surprised anyone was up this early.” She looked around and sure enough it was just the two of them. She looked back at him and smiled. “You do a fine job of taking care of the grounds. I especially love the gardens.”
