The Vampire Killer heated up the minute the man in black walked past him.

It’s a rarity that the whip at his side did that - mainly because there were never any vampires lurking around. The only one that he was ever near was Alucard, and he had grown used to it. This, however, was entirely different. Instead of passing him by, cerulean eyes studied the man before him - throat feeling dry, so he quickly swallowed.

     “Pretty late for people to be out and about, huh?”

No longer was Richter a man looking for a fight, but that didn’t mean he was going to just pass him by without a question.

D could feel the attention of his Left Hand being brought to the man who just walked past. The Hand remained quiet, but he seemed to be rather uneasy about this man suddenly. As if he was able to pick up on something. D knew he was going to have to keep his guard up around this man.

“I could say the same to you.” D replied. His voice was rather monotone, as if the man either had no emotion to express or saw no point in expressing it.

Golden eyes narrowed. More than enough had occurred lately in his late night wanderings to leave him on edge, and based on the look the other man was giving him made him grateful Richter had not joined him on this particular evening.

“Alucard.” Low voice drawled as he stopped in his tracks, turning to face the other in the dim light of night.

Gloved hand rested on the hilt of his blade, sheathed at his waist. He could not smell the other so pungently as all the rest. At the very least, he had been stopped by the other so…Abruptly. There was certainly something offputting.

“It’s rude to ask for another’s name without offering one’s own in turn.”

D’s eyes were drawn to the hand resting on the hilt of the other man’s blade. The placement there would have made most men uneasy. However it only seemed to elicit a glance from him. The pale man didn’t seem to be much for giving reactions to much of anything.

“D.” He returned the exchange of names. D did not move for his blade in response, at least not just yet. He was watching Alucard’s movements rather closely for now.

“Were you able to keep an actual sword, or is it wooden as well?”

          CANDICE   is no stranger to appendages moving on their own; her immediate thought, actually, is that he would fit right into the sideshow that was Mayuri’s lapdogs. Not that that quelled her reaction in any remote way.

“Woah! This gal’s got some spice! She might be your ty-mmph!” D clenched his fist, muffling the voice. “Mk! Mkk! M Mnn’t Mmreave!” He let off on his grip a bit. “Man.. What a slave driver..”

D looked over to Candice at this point, finally answering her. “No. I don’t.” He spoke simply towards her.

D eyed the woman for a moment while she was making a ruckus about it being a quiet night. He didn’t pay her much mind. His left hand did, though. 

“Wow. I didn’t think this town had prostitutes. Look at those legs, D! The girl looks like she’s on stilts!” 

              ❛   What, does everybody got a  BEDTIME  around here ?  Shit’s so boring that I swear I saw that giant hole move a little.   ❜
