"Oh, you have jokes now, how amusing." Lucifer set down his glass after another long sip. He was going to need more alcohol if they were to continue this little 'visit.'

"And why are you here?" What was it with people showing up uninvited in his penthouse anyway? Perhaps he should take Amenadiel's advice and put a lock on the damn elevator.

"Oh, bloody hell, it's you." The unexpected sight of his half-brother was not welcome. When did he ever announce himself? He just appeared as he pleased, much like the rest of his family.

Lucifer felt the need for a stiff drink and began to pour himself a glass. "What brings you here? I thought you already fulfilled your duties and wanted to spend the rest of eternity up in the Silver City with dear old Dad. What changed? Finally ready to bring on the second coming?" He raised the glass and took a long sip.

"Don't tell me you've already started with the apocalypse."

"Bloody hell." His voice was soft but still laced with frustration. Lucifer untied the tie around his neck and let it drape around him. He needed a stiff drink after what he had been through today.

First there was the ordeal with the detective and a case that went entirely wrong. Things escalated so quickly and he almost lost her and, and to make matters worse; his face came out. It came out at the wrong time and she took as well to it as he had suspected.

Which was not well at all.

He still recalled the look of horror in her eyes, and how her first instinct was to run. An instinct she rarely followed, being the brave one. It was unsettling to see such an unfazed courageous woman turn on her heels and scrambled like a frightened animal.

Try as he might, she did not listen to him. She wouldn't even turn back to look at him. She saw him as he really was; a monster.

In the midst of his brooding, he barely heard the elevator ding. Lucifer took a long sip from his glass before setting it down on the counter. Who could it be? He didn't want a repeat of what happened earlier, especially as he was still not quite..himself.

"I think I'm going to need a drink, in fact I'll have several drinks."
