Viktor & Igor's "Friendship"

(And my thoughts on it) (IM NOT A PROFESSIONAL JUST RETARDED)

Let's start with how they met. I think that explains their dynamic very well. Viktor was constantly bullied for being feminine because he was hygienic (like using chapstick), and though he never really said who did it, we can assume it was mainly Igor. Why? Well, he befriended Igor out of fear because he didn't want to get bullied worse. (Or something like that.)

Igor and Viktor didn't really have friends. Of course, they had Alexander, but from what we've been told, they really only spoke to each other (and their girlfriends).

Igor had come up with the idea of "facing their fears" when they all admitted to being afraid of heights. They used extreme methods to cure that fear, mainly being hanging themselves off high abandoned buildings and water tanks. They then started using this method for their OTHER fears, and every time, Igor had been the one to suggest it. He was the one who thought of killing animals to cure Alexander's fear of blood, and he had been the one to suggest bullying people so they wouldn't get bullied. We also know that Igir was physically abusive. At least, he was to Viktor. He used violence against Victor if the older boy didn't do as he said. Eg: when Igor punched Viktor in the face because he didn't clean his garage

Since Viktor was isolated and scared of Igor, he became very attached. Every time someone told him to leave Igor, he'd get mad or ignore them. His girlfriend and parents asked and tried to separate them, but neither listened. Viktor's father later described their relationship as "Stockholm Syndrome".

We know that, to this day, they still want to be together. Going so far as to flee the military together (though they soon got caught).

What do I think of them? Well, it's a classic abusive relationship. Minus the romance(?). Social isolation, physical punishment, manipulation. Though we don't actually know much about them, I wouldn't be surprised if Igor has done even worse to Viktor.
