For me personally its the dynamics and interpersonal relationships of the characters. It’s always been a standout to me and it feels consistent in quality even with more minor and less developed characters. Anyway have a bit family (?) portrait of some of my favs!

Roddacember Day 15: Location

I conveniently drew these in October (?) for landscape practice and who would have known they’d come in handy. On the left is the glen where the lilies of life are and the right is the shifting sands. These were like the early practice for my dragon drawing on Day 4.

struggling with my Roddacember day 14 still because i thought i’d do another animation (even though i was avoiding it because they weren’t showing up when browsing the Roddacember tag, unless that was just me???) so i’m taking a break. landscapes were always going to be a struggle, so i haven’t finished today’s either.

I just really love Broome, especially its folk. Slightly messy result, but I kinda like it.

Roddacember Day 15, Location

I had this piece laying around unfinished for like, a year, so I thought of using the prompt to push myself to finish it. And here it is! Picturing Lindal fighting against Rolf in Dragon’s Nest.

15 - Location

i’ve been procrastinating this one, because i’m not great at landscapes which was why i made sure there was a prompt in there to challenge me. i ended up playing to my strengths (?) ((what i’m used to?)) instead of reaching out this time, otherwise i’d never get it done and i’m behind as it is. 

i originally intended to do Weld but then i was reading a little Isle of the Dead last night and i was inspired to do a flat-coloured Bone Point!

wasn’t intending to do the scene with Verity on The Lady Luck but it happened, and i’m not really mad. this is sort of half-finished art, but i’m a little proud of how it turned out in the end.

i really like the Verity and Laughing Jack story, so i was excited to so some art for them!

Day 9 of Roddacember! Favorite thing about the Roddaverse

Gotta say, my favorite thing about the Roddaverse are the plot twists. Rodda’s character and world building is off the charts, and because of this, all of her plot twists while often CRAZY AND UNEXPECTED AND MIND BLOWING all make perfect sense once you really think about them. They are SATISFYING in a way that is so rare, especially since so many authors think a good plot twist is the most outlandish thing that can possibly happen, despite no set up. Rodda understands that set up is KEY and she is so, so good at it.

WOW! Sorry I fell behind everybody, but I caught a cold last week, and tonight was the first time since then that I’ve felt well enough to do art. If it’s all the same, I’m gonna just pick up where I left off :)

I'm not even doing Roddacember properly anymore but I had to do these two prompts. For favorite relationship, Lindal and Barda of course, and favorite character, Barda. I love both of them so very much, but because Barda showed up first and for a longer time period, I picked him as a favorite.

The fantasy obsessed kid in me loves the idea of an entire city magically carved out of a single seamless block of stone. The geologist in me is horrified at the prospect of the entire thing being made out of marble. The duality of man I guess.

when i was drawing sketching Jewel the other day, i remembered @star-bribery ’s idea that Broome women got their tattoos extended and i really wanted to draw that. i suppose i’m imagining that girls have their head shaved since birth, but they don’t get tats till 18 or something, like a rite of passage. and at another point, or gradually they can grow down their shoulders. anyway, love your idea OP. like so much omg,,,

annndddd i headcanon that Barda got a bear (partial?) sleeve tattoo in the swirling style of Broome. i drew it a while back and i’m only now realising i never finished that WIP.
