his time in the bunker had been exceptionally boring. everything about the bunker was too much for him. he hated the trapped feeling of being enclosed underground. 

as soon as he was on the ground, he couldn’t help but run. he wished that he’d been able to come out to a healthy planet but that wasn’t the case. far from the case. he didn’t speak to anyone the first few days after coming out of the bunker. he hid, he practiced his skills. he threw knives, he skirted camps without being spotted. 

until he was. 

he hadn’t been paying enough attention to in front of him, rather, he was watching his sides as he skirted the edge of one of the camps, hood up, hiding his face. he wasn’t prepared to knock into the blonde.  a small squeak falling from his lips as he stumbled back, hands immediately darting out to make sure she wouldn’t fall.  “ i’m sorry! “

her small hand had wrapped itself tightly around his forearm, begging him not to go. his eyes close for a minute before blue hues land on him again, lips tugging up into a reassuring smile. 

“ i’ll be okay, i promise. “ neither of them had hardly left the cave in the two months since he brought her here. food trips once a week, he would pop out while she was sleeping and gather water. but other than that, neither of them left. 

now, there had been increased activity in their vicinity. footsteps echoing back into their cave at all hours of the night and day for the last five days. he’d needed to go get food two days before, they’d stretched their food out as long as they could but they were out. 

they were hungry. and they would continue to be hungry until he went out for food. 

he pulled his cloak tighter around him, his hood already covering most of his face. 

“ this is what i was trained for. i’ll be okay.  stayhere. “ and with that he turned, his almost silent footsteps receding until he was out of sight.

a small frown made it onto his lips, head cocking to the side slowly. he understood her. mostly. but he wasn’t quite sure if he was ready to let her know that yet. he’d been watching her for awhile but he still worried that she couldn’t be trusted. 

reaching for the small container of water that was perched beside him against the stone wall. holding it out to her, his glove almost exactly matched the leather of the container. the milky white flesh of his wrist showed slightly as he reached the container out to her, sleeve pulling up. a sliver of white clashing against dark fabrics.
