hi hello!

been a while since i've had activity on this blog, and ive certainly read A LOT of books since this post (my challenge is close to an end), but i felt like i had to give an update since the finale to this lovely series is here (has been for a while) and it was PERFECT.

wisteria was a such a worthy ending to wrap up this awesome trilogy. blythe and aris have my heart, their chemistry was absolutely perfect, and their story was so so beautiful and bittersweet and worth reading.

i'll miss this little enchanting world and everything and everyone that came with it 5/5 ⭐️ from me :)

i came back to promote these masterpieces

4.75 and 5 ⭐️ respectively. the romance was very much enjoyable, although i will say that i looked forward to the murder mystery more and found myself very intrigued with the lore and magic. great characters as well, signa and blythe are my one of a kind girlies and i totally understand how they got their pathetic immortal lover boys to fall for them

anyways 10/10 experience, would recommend. will be staying tuned for book 3 ;)

this series is sooo simply written, easy to read and a little predictable but the plot and mystery took me on such a fucking ride that i was flying through both books without even realizing it

finished recently:

Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross - LOVED IT. Simple but excellent writing, unique plot and worldbuilding. it does need a bit more detail but im satisfied with what I got and I'm sure there's more info in the sequel, which I'm definitely tuning into. Great MC's with superb dynamic and chemistry, and well written indivual developments for both characters. Had A LOT of fun with this one.

What The River Knows by Isabel Ibañez - has a very interesting and unique premise that could've easily been entertaining but instead it was stressful and predictable in a not so good way. I liked this but reading it was so exhausting. Not sure if I'll tune in to the next books.

The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling - A much needed an deserved break from the previous book. Simple and fun, MC's were both great characters in their own right, with believable chemistry. Plot was little underwhelming and definitely needed a bit more "oopmh" is a fun way to put it (lol), but I still liked it. Not usually a fan of second chance trope in romance, but it worked really well in this one. I did hope there was a bit more depth into their relationship and how it blended in with their individual character developments, but all in all, I'm not complaining. Also, there's a talking cat. How could I not love this.

one of the reasons i really love feyre is that she's not the classic "girl boss" character, even though she has elements of it. she's a badass but more because she has to be at times.

hunting to feed her starving family, going under the mountain to save tamlin and prythian, fighting hybern and sacrificing herself to the spring court to save her sisters and the inner circle, going to the prison and working with the bone carver, and so on - she is so, so brave and strong. look at how she saved all the people she loves and more, countless times. but she did these things because they were the right thing to do.

what she really wants is peace and freedom to be who she wants to be. this is partially why her relationship with tamlin didn't work. he gave her peace (for a time) but not that freedom that she craved to explore and be who she wanted to be. to me, her relationship with rhys works because she knows who she is and she is whole without rhys - rhys makes her life better. she doesn't need rhys, she wants rhys.

i love that feyre is so brave and cutthroat when she needs to be, but only because she is protective of those she loves. i love that she is peaceful and warm and loving, that she makes time for everyone, especially those that have less than her. that she has true friendships with people like mor and cassian that have nothing to do with her relationship with rhys. i love that she cares so much for her sisters despite everything they did to her. i love that at the end of the day, she just wants to paint and be creative and explore a better world. she would live a whole life without violence if she could. i love that she can pick up a bow and protect her own but that is not what she would choose for her life if she had the choice.

i just love her. she's one of the best female characters I've ever read. soft but brave, loving but fierce, a leader with the utmost compassion for others, my true high lady who deserves nothing but the best things that life can give.

Random but Matthew Bell looks almost exactly how the Darkling is in the books. Imagine him in costume! 😭

He is the PERFECT darkling tbh.

I also can't stand Ben Barnes as darkling knowing how much of a disgusting racist he is to Palestinians.
