My mom found these old drawings my grandpa made in the 1930s. He was always such a gruff old man. I had no idea he liked to draw.

Me: Hey man what’s up?
Him: Just got out of rehab. (Takes a shot of tequila)
Me: cool?

It’s that magical time of year when we do “The Monster Fuck.” With lyrics like, “Wolf Man wolfed down Frankenstein’s ass,” you really can’t go wrong.

If only there were some mechanism to stop torturing children. If only there were some way to stop litigating why we’re doing it and who is doing it and just stop doing it.
Dalia Lithwick writing in Slate about the current administration’s indefensible child separation policy. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/06/how-the-trump-administration-is-defending-its-indefensible-child-separation-policy.html

Recovering from hernia repair. Day 3. I decide it’s time to try it without the benefit of Vicodin. The pain is getting better and I’m tired of being in a haze. Not to mention it would be nice to void my bowels again. Opioids fuck up that whole process. So far no BM but what I have had is weird ass dreams. Here’s the last one I had. Mom brings me home to the house we sold 20 years ago and Kristen Bell won’t feed the dogs. No matter how much I yell, “Kristen feed the dogs!” She just refuses. Then Rene Zellwegger comes and sits on the edge of my bed and talks to me about how she her start in the business. Then I’m in a library Playing a bizarre game in which you crash toy cars made of wooden blocks of different colors into one another and I criticize the musical taste of friends from every era of my life. Then my friend Catfish pedals a bike as I ride on his handlebars down to the football stadium from the library. We do this bike part over and over. There are some college kids doing the same. We smirk at them. Then we all go and marvel at the football stadium. Most of it has been covered in blue tarp leaving a stage like area with only the middle section of seats visible.

Was she being willful? Obstinate? Or was she standing up for what she believed in? Was she a hero or a bitch? Strange how often it was hard to tell.
