How come every guy says "I'm good at compartmentalizing things" instead of "I'm bad at dealing with uncomfortable emotions"?

I'm a teacher and I get so frustrated with my male coworkers for coddling and excusing male student behavior. They talk about how the male teachers have such better control over the classroom and don't ever account for the fact that the male students just automatically respect male teachers more. The "behavioral specialist" at our school has talked to me at length about how the girls are worse than the boys and I'm like... you're not even in a classroom. I know that there's been multiple fights this year and the vast majority has been with boys. Has a girl brought a g*n to school? Because boys did twice in the matter of a week. The boys are so disruptive and almost never do work of the same quality as their female classmates. It's so effing annoying I want to throw a desk.

Yesterday one of the school counselors told me repeatedly that I have “non-binary vibes”. This is after the first time I spoke to her when she asked me my pronouns and I said “I don’t care, it doesn’t matter to me what pronouns people used” and her response was “really?? I mean really? there isn’t one that one people use you feel all good inside?” (I thought you weren’t supposed to force people to reveal their pronouns?). I just want to make it clear that at this point in my life I am not gender non-conforming in my presence almost at all. I wear pants sometimes but I mostly wear skirts, my hair is long. The only thing that’s gnc about me (I GUESS) is that I am confident and I express my thoughts in a way that people describe as intelligent. That is IT. So, if you were wondering if  school counsellors are actually pushing in kids in one way or another, the answer is yes.

I am currently reading “Rage Becomes Her” by Soraya Chemaly, and this particular quotes comes from a chapter exploring the ways in which women are objectified in our culture.
“It’s virtually impossible to go through a day without images of girls’ and women’s shellacked, shaved, tied-up, emaciated, and often, if you pause to seriously look, mutilated bodies invading your imagination. Our bodies are used to market everything from toys and clothing, to food and games. Women pose as tables for people to eat off of, chairs for people to sit on, and bicycles for people to ride. And that’s all before the mindlessly sexist and racist fetishising of mainstream pornography, which in its most popular forms frequently eroticises violence.”
The question is, if women are so often portrayed as mere objects, how much room is left to portray our humanity? If minimal social space is given to exploring the notion that women may be intelligent, thinking, and feeling beings, how are we supposed to overcome a culture of objectification?
We are paraded as objects. We have inherited the belief we are objects. We are acting accordingly. It is a seemingly inescapable cage, and it is often to appease yourself within it rather than fight to get out.

I was recently talking to a male coworker who was explaining to me that he’s not into white girls because they’re “entitled” but that I seem different, I seem laid back. In my head the “cool girl” monologue from Gone Girl went through my head. He was saying “You’re a cool girl, I can tell. Don’t do anything to change my mind”. I hate it so much when men try to use misogyny to charm you. It’s disgusting.
