At Treaz & Nu winebar in Iași, Romania, my friend Laura and I had this wonderful wine from Macedonia. Moderate sour cherry, evident balsamic (laurel) and spicy (black pepper) flavors. Tannins still pretty sharp, very long finish.

Blend of Montepulciano (majoritarian) & Sangiovese, aged in barriques. NOSE of red cherry with a hint of violet. Fruit confirmed on PALATE, with gentle secondaries: vanilla, black pepper, cloves. Good structure and long enough finish. A good red from Marche, with an excellent value for money. Tasted at “Taverna di Ivo” in Fabriano, Marche, Italy
