Boutari’s NAOUSSA Grand Reserve 2010

At Treaz & Nu winebar in Iași, Romania, my friend Laura and I had this wonderful wine from Macedonia. Moderate sour cherry, evident balsamic (laurel) and spicy (black pepper) flavors. Tannins still pretty sharp, very long finish.

Blend of Montepulciano (majoritarian) & Sangiovese, aged in barriques. NOSE of red cherry with a hint of violet. Fruit confirmed on PALATE, with gentle secondaries: vanilla, black pepper, cloves. Artisan 2016 by Aurelia Vișinescu. Aged in barrels of different tipes of oak, mostly French & Romanian. Dark in color. Nose of black fruit (cherry & plum). Fruity also the palate plus black pepper.
