No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t find the source/artist for a really quaint DND AU I saw but if you’re out there,,,,,shoutout to you. (EDIT I FOUND THEM;; [X]) I immediately fell in love with the designs of a Warlock Korekiyo and Cleric Angie and in the middle of drawing them my friend brought up the idea of them also being a Tiefling and Aasimar instead of just humans,,,blew my MARBLES

Toying with the idea that Black Opal, Kiyo, is some sort of researching/Anthropologist gem for Yellow Diamond to learn more about humans and what they could take from their lives to improve homeworld. Straight up murder for the sake of research is not out of the question and Opal is not against it either, since it’s their role; they end up enjoying it a little too much.

Little Goldy, Angie, is a bystander of some sort who grew up in the Ocean + on various islands just going to and fro wherever she can find water. She’s essentially been in a rock tumbler after spending the majority of her life vibing in the water, making her super soft, smooth, and round. She is gravely unaware of gem culture for a long time since she was mis-happenly placed (some higher-up must’ve forgot to let her on the ship to homeworld after she was made LOL poor sap), so she’s super naive and learns a lot from Opal. (Goldy tries convincing them endlessly to abandon Homeworld and live in the ocean with her for the rest of eternity) She’s very skilled in sculpting and was able to carefully cut her own gem into a seashell shape just for the hell of it, not to mention the MOUNDS of intricate architecture and statues she’s left on the sea floor everywhere.

They’re definitely not a permafusion at any point because Black Opal would lose their sanity (moreso than it already is) but they sure love fusing together :]] Look out for that design at some point

Not thinking it was that bad of an idea, Yasuhiro went to fish further into the ocean into what his village calls “the red zone”. Seems like the bones were right about him finding what he was looking for… .if only they could have been more specific about it
