elain might not like confrontation, and she dislikes very much to have to raise her voice and/or hear someone raise theirs, but she's still an archeron, and she still has a part of feyre's feisty nature and nesta's biting tongue. she just doesn't like to behave like that because she becomes extremely anxious around conflict.

for some reason, this man makes her feel defiant. perhaps because he seems to assume things about her ( she is fragile, she is a weak scribe, she must be warming someone's bed if she's still alive in this place ). elain has never felt the need to be fiery like her sisters, it is not in her nature. she is calm and gentle, but for an unexplained reason, xaden riorson makes her want to talk back.

xaden riorson is said to be dangerous as well. many a scribe has warned her about him. feyre has as well. and even so, elain knows better than to judge a book by its cover; darkness can be gentle, and light can be deadly. even if he hides in the shadows and moves them at his will, perhaps his heart is noble.

small smile accompanies her remark, lithe fingertips work on weaving the other's hair. the courtyard is usually bursting with riders, privates; they are loud and brawny and elain often avoids the place until nightime has fallen. the scribes' quadrant is a far cry from it, the smell of old parchment and quiet sounds of quills against paper are often the only thing that can be heard.

" though, i would have thought you'd be used to loudmouths by now, " she chuckles softly, and violet's hair is slowly braided into complex patterns that only elain can create, a talent that she's held ever since childhood. she would often do nesta's hair as well, though feyre refuses to wear her hair anything other than loose and slightly unkempt. elain now supposes it must be a rider's thing, " not to seem judgemental, but you riders have acquired a tendency to speak out loud more often than inwards. perhaps it is because the dragons are too noisy. ABOUT HER VISIONS.

elain's seer powers began manifesting when she was a child, still human, still not a fully developed changeling. it would simply be a small tingling feeling and an opression on her chest. elain would often describe it as drowning on dry land. she would feel restless and uneasy.

once her fae abilities begin to flourish and come to the surface when the sisters are exposed to the fae realms, she begins to develop visions alongside the physical symptoms. these visions are often blurry and confusing, and they leave her with a pounding headache and a weakened body, as every muscle in her tenses and contracts and only relax once the vision is over. they don't last longer than a few seconds, but they are extremely weakening.

ABOUT HER GLAMOUR.

elain's glamouring abilities are incredibly strong. even before her fae powers begin to manifest, even as a changeling whose abilities have not manifested yet, her glamouring could be perceived through the nature of her appearence. idyllic and ethereal, almost inhuman. the boys in the village would say elain archeron was something else entirely, and that is why many would often have crushes on her. because elain's glamouring is so potent, it is impossible for a human to not find her breathtakingly beautiful - although in an eerily uncanny way. elain's beauty can only be described as odd, but not because of her looks, but because of the aura she gives off.

it can even kind of work on high fae, who, while not seeing her the same way humans do, will experience an immediate attraction towards her as well. elain's glamouring is astonishingly potent, especially considering she has yet to hone her craft around her fae abilities.
