Girls Night Out
Charisse is basically the Gayle King of Brigham City. And just so you all know - there's nothing stopping any of us from making a Romantic Fitness playlist on Spotify.

The Color Purple
The best things in life are free. But you can keep them for the birds and the bees - now give me MONEY. That's what I want.
I just can't understand why Space Jam wasn't included in the "main topic".

Last Will and Testament
A girl needs her legacy to live on.
Fun fact: Andrea moved homes when she was still in Tween Phase. To ensure her memory didn't die in the move, she wrote her name on just about everything in the house before they left. The wallpaper. The particle board furniture in her room. Whatever she could get her hands on. I'm sure the new homeowners were absolutely inspired.
Anyway, please enjoy this very serious entry:
I hope you guys make a flipping strong effort to get this to Charisse.

Thesis Statement
The first sentence should set the tone for the whole book (and this is no exception).
"I have a next door neighbor and I love him".
Perfect.

Introducing Andrea (and Lisa Frank Contemporaries).
New post! New book!
A few things you should know:
1. This diary belongs to Andrea.
2. At one point Andrea named this diary “Panda”. The next day she forgot the name and started calling it “Kitty”. You know. Like Anne Frank.
3. There will be many installments from this book. Many.

Award Season
At the end of every school year, I would make "awards" for my friends (or people I wanted to be my friends).
This is 8th grade. I would just like to say to all the nominees - you're truly all winners!

Total Flirt
Oh, the absolute thrill of seventh grade!
Here's another example of me proving to my diary that I'm pretty cool. No compitition, Diary. I've got this one in the bag. Because you can't admit to your diary that your crush wouldn't jump at the chance to crush right back on you?
Also. Throwing breadsticks? Boys that can be your friends?! Heaven!

Revenge
I was a pretty nice kid. I had a constant fear of getting in trouble. But. My diary tells another story. Whenever I felt like my friends were mean (because your girlfriends are mean when you're in fourth grade), I would write little plots of revenge in my diary.
This is the only plot I ever went through with. I considered Chelsie one of my best friends but most of what I write about her in my diary is how mean she was to me (you can see why I liked her). Anyway, she and I both loved the same boy. The rest came very naturally.

Pretty Popular
One of the fun things about my diary specifically is that I spend a lot of time name-dropping and trying to prove [to my diary] that I am cool. Because if my diary doesn't believe I'm cool, then who will?!
In this entry, I'm describing a class "election". This election was held on the first couple of days back in class - meaning no one really knew who anyone was. We put our heads down, the teacher read through the names of everyone in the class and we raised our hands to cast our votes. This means I was probably voted on by like two people.
If that's not popular, I don't know what is.

Dear Diary,
For me, best and worst thing in the world is to be a girl aged 11-15. You’re bridging the gap between childhood and the glory of adolescence. You’re trying too hard to be cool without even knowing what that should look like. Your hormones are constantly at Threat Level Midnight and you can barely make it through the day without falling in love (at least once). And let’s not forget that everything. is. serious.
The drama. The betrayal. The romance.
The good news is we all have to go through it. The much better news is that some of us have the whole experience documented.
