Hi 👋, My name is Mohammad, and I’m reaching out in a moment of desperate need. I’m a father of three young children living in Gaza, and we are caught in the midst of a catastrophic war. Our home is no longer a safe haven, and the future here seems increasingly uncertain. 💔
I’ve launched a fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $40,000 to relocate my family to a safer place where my children can grow up in peace and have a chance at a brighter future.
Unfortunately, my previous fundraising efforts were abruptly halted when my account was terminated without explanation. However, I remain determined to keep fighting for my family’s safety and well-being. 🫶
If you could take a moment to read our story, consider donating, or simply share our campaign with others, it would make an incredible difference. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to safety and a new beginning. 🙏
Thank you for your time, compassion, and support. ❤️🩹

So you guys know The X-Files? Dana Scully Fox Mulder love of my life? Do you guys also know that Dana Scully is absolutely 100% immortal?
Like do me a favor and Google "scully immortal tithonus" right now. Take a peep at those results. It's mostly people on various forms of journalism websites DECONSTRUCTING REALITY over the INDISPUTABLE FACT that DANA SCULLY IS IMMORTAL. (tldr in the episode "Tithonus," this guy describes becoming immortal by "giving" Death's gaze to someone else at the moment of his death. And at the end of the episode he "takes" Scully's chance to look at Death by telling her to close her eyes after she's shot. So... how else am I supposed to read that. She's immortal bro. She came down in a bubble, Doug)
This "plothole" has obsessed and consumed me ever since I first watched The X-Files in 2017.
So I wrote it.
It's called X-Tropy.
Mulder comes back as a ghost because there's no way in hell that man is "moving on" without her. You cannot even begin to fathom the levels of BURNING ANGST AND YEARNING that this generates.
I've already written the whole thing. I'm just posting it one chapter at a time. This is risk-free on your part. I've done all the work. You just get to sit back and GO INSANE. FOR FREE. ON THE INTERNET!!!
Anyway here's a picture from a real photo shoot of Scully and Mulder posing as dead bodies in a morgue because that's just how canon this fic is I guess
À demain, à la prochaine!

Has it already been proposed that Hatsune Miku is essentially the digital age successor to the cultural niche originally established by Betty Boop, did I see that somewhere or is it a weird thing my autism told me

Calling all NaNoWriMos!!!
So idk if y'all was aware but NaNoWriMo posted this cryptic goofball Q&A about AI earlier:
Here's the full post.
So basically, unless the NaNo team cleans up their act in the next month, I don't feel like playing in their backyard anymore.
I'm not the only one. A lot of people I know have already deleted their accounts and there are even liaisons/moderators who are cutting ties with the NaNo team.
I've participated in NaNo my whole life, since my early teens, and it has been a constant source of community, friendship, and growth in my life. It breaks my heart to see one of the last true bastions of the arts delusionally betray their own kind like this. Maybe the backlash will cause them to change this policy before November, but I'm not hopeful.
But I don't want to lose this community. I don't want to lose the tradition.
So I'm still planning on writing 50k words in the month of November. But I'm not going to share my metrics on their website. Maybe I'll use a Discord bot to track it, or just keep track of it manually on social media. I don't know exactly what form this "new" NaNo is going to take, but I'm very serious about it.
This is an open call for y'all to join me in peaceful protest. Let's still plan on doing NaNo this year, but don't use the website. Post your metrics to social media instead. Tag NaNoWriMo when you do. I want the team to know that we're doing NaNo without them. I want them to know that they don't get to own us just because they started the tradition. We decide how the tradition is used, and AI is not allowed in this space. Full stop.
Suggestions/ideas welcome, this is OUR community, not theirs. And as always, happy writing!
#nanowrimo#nano#national novel writing month#writing#ai#my shit#writing community#50k#please retweet and reblog#i am a very low traction acc so i appreciate any boost#anti ai

This website of audio interviews with people living during the Great Depression has been INVALUABLE
Writing Liveblog
I'm writing an X-Files fic where Scully is immortal and Mulder is a ghost! I've been doing liveblogs on Twitter whenever I write, but I want to get back into Tumblr, so I thought I'd try doing it on here today. Feel free to read along!

Yesterday in my notes I said I would tie the bat-thing presentation to this scene, but in hindsight it actually makes more sense to have it be the bounty hunter presentation. Mulder would be trying to help Scully, and on the timeline, that information is the only real way of helping her right now.

Alright today I think I'm gonna write the depression scene, because a) I'm excited about it and b) that's the most significant scene left prior to the 2050s (Well, that and Mulder's death, but that can wait. Frankly that's gonna be the hardest scene of the entire fic to write).
anyway just did a bunch of research about depressions and ho ho ho holy shit I am excited to write this scene

okay thank you I'm back
scenes left to write:
Mulder death scene(tm) (it's not what you might expect)(tm)
how/why Scully decides to ask Skinner for help (somewhere between 2028 - 35)
Mulder "dream" "sequence" during worst part of depression. Scully has no food ): (2037 or 38)
scully/Candaces meet with doctor to check on baby, find out they're twins, Candaces ask her to live w/ them (2039)
scene with twins as bappies, also decide on their date of birth, maybe use this scene to talk about sky train lore (2040)
finish the "open relationship" scenes (how cryptic of me)
determine exactly what happens at the end of the multiverse scene (HOW CRYPTIC OF ME)
Scully and Jasmine, and I quote, "have a bunch of ghost encounters" (2053)
the end of the medium scene - maybe another """dream""" sequence? (2053)
At some point we need a scene to address Jasmine's candle business (2054 - 63)
finish the graveyard scene with Abel (2064)
Jasmine's death and subsequent ghost encounter (teehee spoilers) (2070?)
final Bradley scene (???)
final Tamika scene (???)
"120" church scene (2084)
where??? is the bounty hunter???
Mulder meeting the Jasmine revenant (Jazz Revenant would be a great chapter title btw)
slide presentation sequence for bounty hunter
slide presentation sequence for bat-thing (this would be good for the depression ""dream"" ""sequence"")
Abel and bounty hunter encounter and the resolution to that whole situation (probably 2090s)
Scully rejoins FBI post bounty hunter?
figure out the end of the Martin UFO encounter scene
figure out what file Scully picks up at the end of the Candace slide presentation
candle scene with Jengerbayeva
the return of the bat, Whitehead helps (this could be the climax tbh) (2103)
trippy slide presentation sequence where Mulder is presenting the Martin/Jengerbayeva case and Scully gets confused as to if it's currently happening or not (the garden, here?)
finish the Tamika limbo scene
Bradley limbo scene? probably not tbh
the garden. the garden. the garden.
the end????
Jesus christ okay this took forever I'll liveblog more later LOL

Wow, it's like, weirdly hard to post on here. I have this irrational fear that I'm making my blog "less pretty" by talking on it. But talking is... what a blog is for? How odd the human brain is. Anyway at one point in this fic Mulder comes up with a epitaph for Scully's grave and I don't know what it is yet

I think people get mixed up a lot about what is fun and what is rewarding. These are two very different kinds of pleasure. You need to be able to tell them apart because if you don't have a balanced diet of both then it will fuck you up, and I mean that in a "known cause of persistent clinical depression" kind of way.

Unironically the most incredible thing that’s ever happened to me. Literally changed my life. 12/10, no further questions your honor
The Strange Mixtape by @deadcanons. MCU, 64k, casebound at quarto size. Two copies - one for me, one for the author! Plus a funky slipcase to keep it safe in the mail.
The bookcloth and endpapers I both found while on vacation last month. The cloth reminded me a lot of the Aaron Bachalo run of Strange comics, which the author mentioned in the notes as visual inspiration - and I just thought the endpapers looked funky and chaotic and magical in general. The cutouts on the front and the back have a magic circle and a spiderweb vellum underlay, respectively! I always like using this technique on covers, and it felts especially good here.
The slipcase - pulling it together was tricky enough that I only made one of them, and that one's going to the author. There's so much comics inspiration in this fic that I liked the idea of using comics collages to decorate them. I found some nice free wallpaper online for both Strange and Spidey, and I think it brings the whole thing together. There's a New York skyline on the top, a pair of dangling headphones down the spine, and a functional Spotify code for the overall fic playlist on the bottom.
Typeset in Georgia, with Dr.Charmed used for titles and chapter headers, and OCR A Extended for the song tabs. Every chapter has a corresponding song, which is named and cited at the start, with a QR code and a Spotify link so you can listen along while reading!
I was so delighted with this fic when I first read it that I immediately began typesetting it for binding. That was a few months ago, so pulling it together like this is unimaginably satisfying. It's delightful, punchy, and - most importantly to me - every song on the playlist is an absolute banger. Highly recommend checking it out, and please remember to give the author some love!
