Hello! Have a new chapter! Number 15 out of… 30-ish?
Here we have a date! But don’t call it that in front of Aziraphale. 😂
We’ll see our boys have a nice lunch at an Italian restaurant and share their new reads for their two-person book club!
I hope you’ll like the picks. 😁
And if you want to know more about why I have picked those books in particular, you’ll find more info in the notes at the end of the chapter.
An excerpt:
Aziraphale and Crowley followed the waiter to a cosy corner of the restaurant, where most of the smaller tables for couples were situated. The larger, livelier groups were seated in another hall. From where they were placed, the little bit of sunlight the day had blessed them with reached their table, warming them gently.
After thanking Luca, Aziraphale set down the books he’d been carrying, placing them face down on the table—Crowley did the same with his comic. They exchanged a knowing smile before finally settling into their seats.
The moment they sat down, Crowley seemed to get a better look at Aziraphale, and his face suddenly lit up. “Angel…!” he stuttered, visibly excited. “Are ye really wearin’ the earrings I gave ye again?!”
Aziraphale blushed, raising his hands to gently touch the silver earrings, now no longer hidden by his scarf.
“…Yes,” he murmured, eyes downcast, suddenly shy and self-conscious. “I liked how they looked on me that evening. The makeup you applied was wonderful too, but perhaps it’s too much for me, a bit too bold. I thought I’d try wearing the earrings again, see how I felt wearing them in public… and I think I like it.”
When he lifted his gaze, Crowley was staring at him with an expression of elated astonishment, eyebrows raised and mouth slightly open. “That’s amazin’, angel! Honestly, ye look absolutely stunnin’—it’s no wonder ye wanted to wear them again.”
“Do you think so?” Aziraphale asked, a mix of hope and uncertainty in his voice, his hands wringing slightly.
“Of course! Ye’re radiant. Tell ye what, next time we meet, I’ll bring ye all the other clip-ons I showed ye before. Consider them yers.”
Aziraphale held up his hands. “Oh, don’t go overboard! That would be too much. And then you would be left without any.”
“I don’t need ‘em anymore,” Crowley replied, brushing his hair aside to reveal his pierced earlobes. “I used those clip-ons back when I didn’t have piercings and was just startin’ to experiment… like ye are now.”
Aziraphale chuckled softly, covering his mouth with a hand. “Does this mean these are just the first steps, and in a few years, I will be like you? Strolling about in leather jackets, painted nails, covered in tattoos?”
Crowley grinned. “Only if ye want to. And ye’d look fantastic. Badass bookseller.”

Yesss! The crossover I needed.
I exist from one severance episode to the next, so don't be surprised 😁
If you're not familiar with the plot of Severance: here we have everything that happens in the canon (final fifteen? Yes!), only in the atmosphere of an office dystopia, where the personality of a person inside the office is reliably separated from his personality outside. And there are rules. Lots of rules. And religión of course.
(maybe the art turned out a little awkward and raw, but today we give preference to the plot)

My fic got recommended. 🥰
I’m so happy you folks are appreciating it so much!
It’s WIP Wednesday. And here’s one I’m really enjoying.  I couldn’t do better describing it than the writer’s description below. But one thing that makes it really special is how the writer uses the recommended books and graphic novels to comment on the relationship and interactions between Aziraphale and Crowley.  This is a good read on its own merits. But also a great choice if you want to learn more about some classic literature (the illustrated kind and otherwise). Regular, weekly updates. Absolutely worth starting now. And I’m sure the writer would appreciate any love in the form of kudos, hits, and comments.
You can also find them on Tumblr at @dcocca Chapters: 14/? Fandom: Good Omens (TV), Good Omens - Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Aziraphale/Crowley (Good Omens), Maggie/Nina (Good Omens) Characters: Aziraphale (Good Omens), Crowley (Good Omens), Nina (Good Omens), Maggie (Good Omens), Muriel (Good Omens), Whickber Street Shopkeepers and Street Traders Association (Good Omens) Additional Tags: Ineffable Husbands (Good Omens), Crowley Loves Aziraphale (Good Omens), Aziraphale Loves Crowley (Good Omens), Alternate Universe - Human, Idiots in Love, Fluff, Domestic Fluff, Internalized Homophobia, Autistic Aziraphale (Good Omens), Pansexual Crowley (Good Omens), Genderfluid Crowley (Good Omens), Gay Aziraphale (Good Omens), Aziraphale Has a Penis (Good Omens), Crowley Has a Penis (Good Omens), Mild Smut, Eventual Smut, Fluff and Smut, Slow Burn, Christmas Fluff, POV Aziraphale (Good Omens), Aziraphale Has Religious Trauma (Good Omens), Crowley is a Sweetheart (Good Omens), Crowley is Patient (Good Omens), Not Beta Read, the slowest of burns, Crowley Has Religious Trauma (Good Omens), Aziraphale and Crowley Take Care of Each Other (Good Omens) Summary:
There’s a new shopkeeper on Whickber Street! The newcomer is a comic book seller named Anthony Crowley, a flamboyant character who blasts heavy metal music at full volume, and whose shop is a chaotic mess. Far too boisterous for Aziraphale’s delicate nerves. Their two worlds will clash in the eternal battle between books and comic books. Aziraphale is determined to convert Crowley to the world of literature, a glaring gap in his life; Crowley, on the other hand, is set on broadening Aziraphale’s horizons by introducing him to the world of graphic novels. Will they manage to win each other over?
Or: A fluff-filled fic with a shy and fidgety bookseller and an extroverted and rebel (a lil bit Pre-Fall coded) comic book seller. With Christmas cheer on the side. And basically it’s also all an excuse to recommend lots of books and graphic novels to everyone.

Annnd chapter 27 is done, too!
A little less than chapter 26, but my new average is between 10-15000 words. The first chapters were 4-5000 at best! 😂
Chapters 28 and 29 are going to be huuuuge, I can already tell.
Since more people from AO3 are starting following me here, I’ll put more updates about the writing of the fic.
Maybe some teasing sneak peeks, too! 😏

Please, have two idiots talking about their feelings by quoting passages from novels and comics instead of being straightforward! It’s the best kind of pining. 🤌
Here, they discuss scenes and themes in “The Left Hand of Darkness” by Ursula K. Le Guin and “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” by Hayao Miyazaki. I tried to be vague enough not to spoil main events and endings, but I also tried to put enough information so that people who haven’t read these books can broadly understand what’s going on. Hope it’ll be enjoyable!
Have a helluva read! Chapter 14 is here 👇

An excerpt:
When Aziraphale returned, the bottle already uncorked and two glasses in hand, they clinked their glasses cheerfully. Both sipped, the rosé’s sweetness a perfect complement to the lingering taste of gingerbread.
Aziraphale leaned back into the sofa cushions, cradling his glass in his lap. “You said earlier that the two protagonists were driving you mad. How so?”
Crowley swirled the rosé in his glass, a smirk twitching at the corners of his mouth. “Oh, don’t get me started, angel. Genly and Estraven—two of the most emotionally constipated characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of readin’ about. They’re like… like two magnets flippin’ their poles, constantly repellin’ each other even though ye know they’re meant to connect.”
Aziraphale chuckled softly, taking a sip of his wine. “Well, to be fair, Genly is an envoy from an entirely different world. It’s only natural that he struggles with trust, and Estraven has their own reasons for being guarded.”
Crowley raised a finger, as though making a grand proclamation. “Oh, I get that. The world-buildin’ and political stakes? Chef’s kiss. But the way they keep dancin’ around each other’s feelings? Infuriating. Ye can see it in every little interaction—how much they care, how much they want to trust each other, but nooo, let’s just keep up this wall of cold, stoic nonsense instead.”
“Stoic nonsense?” Aziraphale repeated with a laugh, tilting his head slightly. “That’s quite the way to describe it.”
Crowley leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “Ye’re tellin’ me ye didn’t scream internally when Estraven sacrificed everythin’ for Genly, and that idiot still couldn’t admit they were friends—when it was painfully clear they were something even more—until the very end?”

The average word number of my chapters might juuust have slightly increased as I kept writing my fic.
This is the total number of words for chapter 26!
I’m almost at the end of the fic, I think I might reach 30 and then be done with it.
There currently are 13 chapters posted on AO3, so do not fear, there will be plenty to read in the following weeks and you’ll surely get to read the end!
I hope you’ll have a helluva read. I’m surely having a blast writing it. My babies are so precious. 🥹

This concept is so lovely and perfect! And I love Arrival. 🥹
Tumblr media
please consider a high ranking angel Crowley, who uses his nearly infinite power to see the future, and knows how things are going to go
and in spite of knowing the hardships along the way (and how he likely won't remember the choice), still chooses to let it all happen

Hello! I hope this chapter finds you well!
The relationship with Crowley and Aziraphale continues to develop as they venture the realm of sci-fi, but there are obtuse people in their way!
Beware that in this chapter there is a scene in which a person receives unwanted attentions and is distressed by insistent flirting. Just to warn you, in case this might be a trigger! In any case, it does not get sexual in any way and in the end it could be considered mild.
Apart from this, I hope you have a helluva read!
An excerpt:
When they had finished eating, Crowley said, “Oh, by the way, a little bird told me yesterday that ye’ve finished Nausicaä.”
“Yes! Such a beautiful manga. Thank you for recommending it, Crowley.”
“Ye’re welcome,” Crowley replied smugly. Then he held up his copy of Le Guin’s novel. Aziraphale hadn’t noticed it before—and that said a lot about how shaken he’d been—but besides the bookmark, the pages were covered with colourful sticky tabs.
“By the way, I’m nearly done with this. I’m at the part where Estraven and Genly are travellin’ across the ice.” Crowley said.
“Oh! Prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster, then,” Aziraphale warned. Then, raising an eyebrow, he nodded at the book covered in sticky notes and added, “My, my. Did you take… notes?”
Crowley gritted his teeth, embarrassed. “…Yes.” Then he opened the book and showed him the pages. “I’ve even underlined passages! Honestly, ye’re a really bad influence.”
Aziraphale laughed. “Aw, you are so precious!”
Crowley glared at him. “Don’t mock me!”
“I’m not mocking you, my dear. You really are precious. I wish I could have seen you while you were carefully underlining passages or delicately applying the sticky notes.” He pretended to wipe a tear. “I am so proud.”

Fucker (a Good Omens repaint of Peter Paul Rubens’ Judith with the Head of Holofernes)
I meant to finish and post this last week, but work and Squid Game themed Roblox games kinda got in the way…
(Originally I had Az holding a certain author’s severed head like in the Rubens piece, but I got informed by a few friends that that could be technically classified as a death threat on the off chance he saw, so since the last thing I need is law problems, I changed it to a book)

This is the first chapter I’m publishing since that dreadful article about Neil Gaiman came out on Vulture. I just wanted to make it clear that I don’t support his behaviour in any way and won’t be supporting him in the future by buying his books. Good Omens, however, is a safe haven for so many people, myself included. Writing and reading fan fiction brings me so much joy, and the community that’s grown around it over the years is wonderful. I’ll carry on making these characters my own and giving them a context of safety that reflects our ideals as a community—certainly not NG’s. I hope you’ll stick with me on this journey. 😊
More info about the chapter in the notes!

An excerpt:
Once they’d parted, Aziraphale couldn’t help but think about the lingering warmth of Crowley’s hand on his waist or the peculiar way the strobe lights and their shadows had altered his features. And the way Crowley had looked at him... it was as if the entire room had vanished. It had been terrifying. And wonderful. And confusing.
Aziraphale shook his head to dispel those thoughts and headed to the bathroom with the makeup wipes Crowley had given him.
He turned on the bathroom light and approached the sink, where the mirror awaited him. His reflection stared back, his blue-grey eyes meeting his own scrutinising gaze. Aziraphale was the only person Aziraphale judged relentlessly. He examined his face, slightly flushed and with makeup smudged from sweat. He took out the wipes and began cleaning his face. Only a few hours ago, he’d felt pretty—and Crowley had even said so, albeit in passing. But had he really been?
The evening he’d just experienced was so unlike anything else he’d ever known that it almost felt like a dream. A dream filled with everything he’d always longed for: safety, tranquillity, fun, compliments, and incredibly kind, pleasant people. And then, something else. Something he couldn’t quite define. Or perhaps he could, but he was afraid of the word that came to mind.
Aziraphale finished wiping his face and stared at the now-dirty wipes, streaked with blue, black, and silver.
“Affection,” he murmured.
